Did the Rev. Jeremiah Wright influence President Obama’s decision to support gay marriage? A prominent black Baptist pastor told MSNBC that Wright has presided over homosexual “commitment ceremonies” in his pastoral career.

“It seemed to me, from way back then, that he was leaning in this direction and others,” Bishop Harry Jackson, senior pastor at Hope Christian Church in Washington D.C., said to explain why he — though a Democrat — did not vote for Obama in 2008. “Jeremiah Wright is known to have performed commitment ceremonies for gays and lesbians awhile back,” he said.
