This is the same guy who snuck a pro-gun clause into Obamacare.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he wants to “get something done on guns” and will take a look at a number of proposals.
The Nevada Democrat said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” he still supports the Second Amendment, but will look at proposals on everything from the ban on assault weapons to limiting gun magazine capacity. He also said “we need to increase” background checks and do more on mental health issues.
Reid also addressed his relationship with the National Rifle Association.
“I’ve been supported by the NRA on occasion. I know Wayne LaPierre, he’s always been extremely pleasant to me. We have a good relationship. So I am not here to demean the organization,” Reid said.
“Just because they resist, it doesn’t mean we can’t do things,” he added. “We have a lot of special interest groups that come and complain about things. … We’ll listen to them and make the right decision.”
