9:32am – Logging in.  Site is blank?  Refreshing does nothing.

9:39am – I have plans now for: Under 30, Low-Income, Hudson County NJ (poor area), Self Employed

9:43 – Seems logical right?  Okay.  So now let’s go to EHealthInsurance.com and purchase our insurance WITHOUT the help of the exchange direct from the insurers…

9:48 – Seems like they’re only saving me $13 right?  Well money is money so that’s good.  But what do I get for my $13?

No deductible you say ….?  $15 generics huh?  Not bad ….let me try to see what Healthcare.gov offers after I login …

9:55 – Can’t login.  Taken to white page.  Navigating away from it logs me out.

UPDATE 10:10am – Some smart ass Obamacare navigator tried to just troll me.

UPDATE 10:21 – He admits the site sucks

UPDATE 11:38 – They have accessibility options for chatting with Healthcare.gov navigators but don’t have them ready to use

UPDATE: 11:43 – Had a chat with “Audrey” from Healthcare.gov.  Transcript follows…

Hi Audrey. I am wondering – is there a page on Healthcare.gov where I can see what the deductible if any and the coverage benefits of plans in New Jersey – Hudson County are?
[11:36:58 am]: William
It seems like I have to apply for a plan before I can find out what those variables will be.
[11:37:28 am]: Audrey
Hello! Thank you. One moment please while I look into that.
[11:39:22 am]: Audrey
The easiest way to find out prices and coverage options for you and your family is to fill out a Marketplace application. By completing the application, you’ll receive a personalized report that tells you all the options you qualify for, including private insurance plans and free or low cost coverage through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, also known as CHIP. We can also tell you if you qualify for lower costs on your monthly premiums and out of pocket expenses like deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. Please call 1.800.318.2596 they will be able to help you with a application.
[11:40:18 am]: William
Is there a reason I can’t see them and make that determination first?
[11:40:57 am]: William
Because I am looking at a plan now and it’s $13 less than what I could buy from the insurance company directly and has no deductible.
[11:42:24 am]: Audrey
I do not know. I think it must be because the plans look very expensive until you add in all the discounts. Maybe this will help you. Go to the search box and type in – Health plan information for individuals and families
Then scroll down to your state and county
[11:42:40 am]: William
Okay thanks!
