WASHINGTON (CNN) — A top Democrat who had hinted that a compromise on war funding was possible appeared to back away from the idea Friday as the Democratic congressional leadership refused to consider it.

On Thursday, Rep. John Murtha, D-Pennsylvania, said he and the White House Iraq coordinator Gen. Douglas Lute discussed a compromise in which Congress would provide additional funds for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan if the administration accepted readiness standards for the troops sent into battle and a ban on the use of torture.

The Democrats’ part of the compromise would be to extend the time period in which they would demand that troops be withdrawn from Iraq, Murtha said.

But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi showed no sign of accepting such a compromise and said the Democratic Congress would not pass a war funding bill other than the one that had already passed the House.

"We have provided every penny that is currently necessary to fund Defense Department operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world," Pelosi said. "It is President Bush and his Republican allies in the Senate who are preventing extra funds from reaching our troops."

On Friday, Murtha appeared to back away from supporting the compromise, saying "the fact remains that the war in Iraq cannot be won militarily" and that the Iraqi government has failed to capitalize on "window of opportunity" created by the additional U.S. troops.

LAFAYETTE, CA — November 30, 2007: Talk Radio Network-syndicated host Michael Savage has filed suit in California against the Council on American-Islamic Relations, saying CAIR is using a four-plus-minute clip of Savage’s show Savage Nation for fundraising purposes.

CAIR and sister organization Hate Hurts America Community & Interfaith Coalition have been urging advertisers to withdraw their spots from Savage’s show over what they say is a history of anti-Muslim comments. The groups cite OfficeMax, JCPenney, AutoZone, and Wal-Mart as advertisers who have ended their association with the show.

Savage’s suit says, "CAIR has misappropriated copyright-protected material from Michael Savage and made this material available on its website. This is actionable, regardless even if CAIR had a genuine charitable purpose in using Michael Savage’s material."

As of this posting, a compilation of clips from Savage’s show remained available at CAIR’s website.

Al Taqiyya: The Islamist Terrorist Weapon of Deception- American Chronicle

Taqiyya is defined literally as:

“Concealing or disguising one’s beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury."

In essence, taqiyya can be generally defined as the legitimization of deception in times of danger.

Taqiyya is alluded to in the following Quranic verse:

"Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, (they) shall have no relation left with Allah except by way of precaution ("tat-taqooh"), that ye may guard yourselves ("tooqatan") from them…” [3:28]"

In his book, Ihya ‘Uloom al-Din, the influential Egyptian Islamic scholar Abu Hamed Mohammad ibn Mohammad al-Ghazzali stated:

“Safeguarding of a Muslim’s life is a mandatory obligation that should be observed; and that lying [taqiyya] is permissible when the shedding of a Muslim’s blood is at stake.”

Those of the Wahhabi ideology acknowledge the fatwa:

“Be dissociated from the infidels, hate them for their religion, leave them, never rely on them for support, do not admire them, and always oppose them in every way according to Islamic law.”

Because Wahhabism is one of the predominant forms of Islam being disseminated in the mosques of the United States it must be surmised that Wahhabis are living among the “infidels.” In order to achieve their existence without open confrontation they must, therefore, employ taqiyya.

So, it can be stated with a great deal of confidence that when a Muslim feels that his life, limb or property are in danger, in order to avoid or quell violent confrontation or to rescue himself or a fellow Muslim from the “oppression of tyranny” and death he can and should utilize taqiyya.

As we continue to engage radical Islam in the war against Islamofascist aggression we need to be cognizant of our foe’s use of taqiyya.

In addition, those who are faithful to the religious tenets of Islam must, as a religious duty, utilize taqiyya when interacting with government and law enforcement where giving damaging information on another Muslim is concerned.

Should the situation arise where a practicing Muslim, loyal to the faith, were to be questioned about a suspected terrorist operation or criminal activity being planed or perpetrated by a fellow Muslim – whether here in the United States or anywhere in the world – that Muslim must employ taqiyya. This makes the gathering of credible information from within the Islamic community, regarding the criminal Islamic community, virtually impossible.

Hostage situation at Clinton campaign office in N.H.- Boston Globe

ROCHESTER, N.H. — A woman who was being held hostage at Hillary Clinton’s campaign office by a man with what looked like a bomb strapped to his body has been released, police said.

A witness, Lettie Tzizik, told WMUR Channel 9 that a woman and her baby ran into neighboring business and said she was released by the hostage-taker.

"A young woman with a 6-month or 8-month-old infant came rushing into the store just in tears, and she said, ‘You need to call 911. A man has just walked into the Clinton office, opened his coat and showed us a bomb strapped to his chest with duct tape,’" Tzizik said.

ROCHESTER, N.H. – An armed man has taken people hostage at the Hillary Clinton campaign office in Rochester, police said.

It was not clear how many hostages there were or what weapons the man has. Police have set up a command post near the office on 28 North Main St.

Recently, though, gays and lesbians living in the city have begun to ask how safe they really are in one of the continent’s greatest bastions of tolerance.

This month, Mayor Job Cohen commissioned the University of Amsterdam to conduct a study on the motives behind the hate crimes. Half of the crimes were committed by men of Moroccan origin and researchers believe they felt stigmatized by society and responded by attacking people they felt were lower on the social ladder. PORTSMOUTH — Presidential hopeful Delaware Sen. Joe Biden stated unequivocally that he will move to impeach President Bush if he bombs Iran without first gaining congressional approval.

Biden spoke in front of a crowd of approximately 100 at a candidate forum held Thursday at Seacoast Media Group. The forum focused on the Iraq war and foreign policy. When an audience member expressed fear of a war with Iran, Biden said he does not typically engage in threats, but had no qualms about issuing a direct warning to the Oval Office.

"The president has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran, and if he does, as Foreign Relations Committee chairman, I will move to impeach," said Biden, whose words were followed by a raucous applause from the local audience.

Biden said he is in the process of meeting with constitutional law experts to prepare a legal memorandum saying as much and intends to send it to the president.

When local resident Joel Carp asked Biden why not impeach now, given what has already been done, Biden said it was a valid point, but might not be constitutionally valid and potentially counterproductive. A case for impeachment must have clear evidence, Biden said, and blame should be directed at the right parties.

"If you’re going to impeach George Bush, you better impeach (Vice President Dick) Cheney first," said Biden, again drawing applause.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice reportedly said in Annapolis this week that her childhood in the segregated South had helped her to understand the suffering on both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"I know what its like to hear that you can’t use a certain road or pass through a checkpoint because you are a Palestinian. I know what it is like to feel discriminated against and powerless," Rice told a closed meeting of Arab and Israeli representatives, according to the Dutch representative at the summit, Franz Timmermans

Rice described her childhood in Birmingham, Alabama, during the era of segregation and the killing of four young girls in a bombing at a Baptist church in 1963. She reportedly said the bombing, which killed one of her classmates, helps her understand the fear of terrorism felt by Israelis.

Breaking a long-held taboo, the Indonesian government has decided to promote safe sex by launching its first ever National Condom Week in an effort to curb the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, especially HIV/AIDS.

However, the condomn campaign, which will start on 1 December – World AIDS Day – has split Islamic religious leaders, who have differing views on how to fight the killer virus.

Fauzan al-Anshori, spokesperson for the hardline Indonesia Mujahiddin Council (MMI) slammed the initiative and called the strict implementation of strict Islamic (sharia) law as the way to fight the disease (Islam is the answer to everything! -ed.)

“We strongly feel that condoms can’t prevent people from getting AIDS. The pores of the latex are bigger than the virus itself,” (when the hell did clerics become scientists? -ed.) he told Adnkronos International (AKI), adding that in his view the campaign was harmful and morally wrong.

“AIDS prevention should start by implementing Islamic laws and punishing rule breakers, infidels and those who engage in pre-marital sex.

"In Islam we normally throw stones at them,” said al-Anshori. The MMI is a Muslim umbrella organisation whose member groups promotes sharia law in Indonesia.

As the Associated Press reported on the violence around Paris late Tuesday, noting the escalation beyond the car-burning intifada of November 2005, such that even apologetic Associated Press reporters are forced to describe the present rioters as “urban guerillas”:

Youths rampaged for a third night in the tough suburbs north of Paris and violence spread to a southern city late Tuesday as police struggled to contain rioters who have burned cars and buildings and — in an ominous turn — shot at officers.

A senior police union official warned that "urban guerrillas" had joined the unrest, saying the violence was worse than during three weeks of rioting that raged around French cities in 2005, when firearms were rarely used.

The urban warfare we are seeing in Paris, as well as the systematic violence by Muslim immigrants in other major cities throughout Europe, are in accord with the strategic planning documents drafted by the Muslim Brotherhood in recent decades in their hopes to establish a global caliphate through jihad.

A Muslim political cartoonist has filed a complaint against Air Canada, claiming he was barred from a flight because of his race, his religion and his criticism of the Bush administration.

Shahid Mahmood, a Toronto resident who grew up in Pakistan, said he was flagged for security reasons in May 2004. He filed a complaint this week with the Canadian Human Rights Commission.

"We made an attempt to resolve matters non-adversarially before being forced to pursue legal options," said his attorney, Nicole Chrolavicius.
