Iran’s Majlis speaker has called the West’s Islamophobia the greatest challenge of the present time, urging greater unity among Muslims.

Speaking at the Fifth Inter-parliamentary Union of the Islamic Countries meeting in Cairo on Wednesday, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said there have been efforts to project an ‘inhumane’ image of Muslims to the world although Muslims have themselves been the victims of terrorism for many years.

"We should make every effort so that the Inter-parliamentary Union of the Islamic Countries plays a more active role in the Islamic world. Further cooperation between the union and the Organization of the Islamic Conference will lay the ground for more interaction among Islamic parliaments and governments."

He also warned Islamic countries against ‘division’ and called for talks between Muslim thinkers and intellectuals of other religions to counter false accusations against Islam.

I’ll take the liberty and reply to their demands on Rudy’s behalf.  Ahem, ahem, FUCK OFF!…..

On the eve of your election loss in Florida, we still recognize that you continue as a public figure in American politics. MuslimBridges.org would like to present you with this letter of reconciliation, proposing that you take this opportunity to end your hostility towards American Muslims. People still look to you for leadership.  It is time for you to change your consistent position of provocation and anti-Islamic resentment.

In your speech tonight, you stated "The best way to reach peace is through an overwhelming force," clearly a position not accepted by people of conscience in America.  There are other better ways to reach peace. Many American Muslims have denounced terrorism completely (most haven’t -ed.) and live lives of great contribution to American society. In the political arena, however, you often speak derisively about all Muslims and create animosity toward all of us. That has to stop.

Therefore, here are five actions proposed towards mutual reconciliation.

1. Visit an Islamic Center

We would like to invite you to visit with an Islamic Center, invite you to share a meal with Muslims who live in your neighborhood, extend an olive branch to you so you get to know more about the 7 million Muslims who are proud to be Americans — American Muslims who understand the importance of voting and contributing to the well being of our nation.

2. Stop the Hate Speech

Advisers on your team have publicly advocated anti-Islamic remarks, while you stood silent, indicating your approval and encouragement.  Will you issue a statement now making it clear to all your current staff, advisers, and anyone who does work for you, or may work for you in the future, that anti-hate speech laws apply not only to Jews, but also to Christians and Muslims. Hateful speech targeting any groups cannot be tolerated. Will you immediately distance yourself from anyone with affiliation to Zionist / Racist / Hate groups?

3. Fight Terrorism throughout the World (They’re talking about the Jooos -ed.)

People of faith all across the world — and in America — are protesting the siege of Gaza and the slow genocide being committed against the civilian Palestinian population, from whom Israel is denying not only access to food, water, medicine, but also gas and electricity.  Public protests across our nation were held in support of freedom and justice to the innocent Palestinians.  Hundreds of human rights organizations and groups, including many Jewish groups inside Israel, rushed aid, and made their voices heard to condemn this war crime by Israel.  Courageous rabbis and Christian Church leaders held high the Palestinian flags, as their way of solidarity with the suffering Palestinians. Listen to the voices of opposition to Israeli oppression.  Mr. Giuliani, as a political leader known for fighting terrorism, will you loudly and clearly condemn the actions of Israel and call it "State Terrorism?"

4. Support American Health Care with American Resources (Again, the Jooos -ed.)

All presidential candidates advocated health care reforms and their commitment to find a solution for the 47 million Americans without health care. Yet the argument against health care for all Americans is often that it is too expensive. During the recent Bush trip to Israel, despite Israeli abuse of the Palestinians, a very generous $30 Billion aid package was handed out to Israel. Mr. Giuliani, all people of faith in this country believe in compassion and helping our fellow Americans who are in-need, struggling during these difficult times.  Can we count on whatever influence and contacts you may have in our Government, to demand and press for an immediate freeze on the $30 Billion aid package to Israel, and the redirection of this money to be used as an emergency fund toward health care for the uninsured in America?

The Muslim Students Association has organized the "Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament," which tests children in public schools on their knowledge of the Koran. All high school children are permitted to compete for the prize money, but female children who do not wear the headscarf are penalized.

Non-Muslim girls who have objected to wearing the headscarf for the tournament, have been chastised and pressured by the tournament organizers for refusing. According to the Muslim Students Association, which was founded by the North American Islamic Trust, which owns hundreds of mosques in the U.S. and Canada, the girls must conform to Islam’s sharia law dress codes, or they will be ineligible to vie for educational funds.

Anti-Muslim prejudice is dealt with less seriously than other forms of discrimination, a university study found.

The research conducted at Bristol University examined 30 years of Government legislation and legal rulings to distinguish the difference between prejudice towards race, ethnicity and religion.

In the study, Dr Nasar Meer (you mean a Muslim was behind the study, nah then it can’t be biased -ed.) research associate in the Department of Sociology at Bristol, found that Muslims are let down by race legislation because being a Muslim is recognised as a lifestyle choice or a "voluntary identity".

Dr Meer says other religious identities – such as Sikh and Jew – have had race law applied in their favour in a way not extended to Muslim communities.

He said many Muslims view their faith as an "involuntary identity" as they are born into the religion.

He said: "We explored what legislation exists to help protect people with what we call an involuntary identity. People with an involuntary identity shouldn’t be disadvantaged by others’ views.

"Muslims have been totally missed out of the protection offered by race-relations legislation because it treats Islam as a religion and not a race." (Actually, it’s a political ideology -ed.)

A shuttle driver has filed a complaint with the FAA against the Salt Lake International Airport, saying officials allowed thousands of religious services to be conducted on public property. Muslim cab drivers began praying in a small airport building used as a break room after 9-11, because, the airport says, they became targets, with people yelling at them and throwing things.

Last week we brought you the story of a Muslim cab driver at the airport who says he was assaulted when he tried to pray inside the building. Tonight the man charged in that case speaks out about his case against the airport.

Shuttle driver Jeff Brueningsen took photos inside the building he and other drivers share at the airport. "It was definitely an Islamic center." He said it didn’t feel right, so he filed a complaint with the FAA against the airport.

"In proper, polite company you never bring up politics or religion. And they introduced both instantly into what’s supposed to be a professional, secular transportation-aviation facility," Brueningsen said.

In the complaint he details claims that he was harassed by a group of Muslim drivers who he says have threatened to kill him. It came to a head earlier this month when Brueningsen says Mohammed Alahmed and other drivers attacked him.

"They were going like this, using their fingers, saying, ‘You F-ing Jew, you don’t want us to pray here,’" Brueningsen says.

Alahmed says it was the other way around, that Brueningsen tried to stop him from praying. "He say the F word against me, and I didn’t do anything. And he grabbed me from my shirt and hit me with his hand," Alahmed said.

Airport police investigated and charged only Brueningsen with assault. Shortly after, the airport closed the building, and Muslim drivers began praying outside.

Iranian Ambassador Ziaran intends to invite all Islamic ambassadors in the Netherlands for a meeting on Party for Freedom (PVV) leader Geert Wilders’ film on the Koran.

Ziaran met this week with the LBM, a new umbrella of Moroccan organisations in the Netherlands. On NOS Journaal, the daily TV news of public broadcaster NOS, he said he would organise a meeting with the ambassadors of Islamic countries shortly on the already-controversial film that Wilders has said he plans to air in March.

LBM, chaired by former leftwing Greens (GroenLinks) MP Mohammed Rabbae called on Ziaran to issue a message to the Iranian people not to react violently to the film, in which Wilders wants to portray the Koran as a fascist book. Ziaran could not guarantee that the streets of Tehran would remain calm.

According to De Volkskrant, Ziaran warned the Netherlands that the lives of its troops in Afghanistan may be endangered by Wilders. The newspaper yesterday quoted him as saying that the Afghans would "regard the Dutch troops as representatives of people who besmirch the Koran".

Regardless of how noble the ends might be, government-funded programs often fail to achieve their stated objective. One such example has resulted in federally funded support of jihadists at Tufts University.

In 2006, Tufts’ Hillel received part of a $1.6-million Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grant to promote "inter-faith and intercultural dialogue." The program’s intentions are noble and its goals laudable, since it is best to resolve conflict through dialogue.

But this past fall, Tufts’ Interfaith Initiative, "Pathways," used its federal money to sponsor a dinner and dialogue by Edina Lekovic on "Women, Faith, and Women."

The problem is that Lekovic is a radical Islamist sympathizer who has gone so far as to defend Osama bin Laden.

A former managing editor of "Al-Talib, a Muslim publication at UCLA, Lekovic was on the masthead when it published an editorial – signed by the Al-Talib staff – praising and defending Osama bin Laden.

The editorial stated, "When we hear someone refer to the great Mujahid, Osama bin Laden, as a ‘terrorist,’ we should defend our brother and refer to him as a freedom fighter; someone who has forsaken wealth and power to fight in Allah’s cause and speak out against oppressors. We take these stances only to please Allah."

When confronted on national television about it, Lekovic initially denied any participation in the publication. Yet recently, she has admitted her involvement – claiming, however, that her position was insignificant, though it was listed as second highest on the masthead. She furthermore remained on the publication for the next three years and attributed the editorial to a printing mistake.

It is no excuse to say that, at the time, she might not have known that bin Laden advocated terrorism. In July 1999, when the piece was published, bin Laden had already issued a fatwa urging his followers to "kill the Americans and their allies – civilians and military" and proclaimed such murderous acts to be "an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it."

Pakistani sources have said that Western elements have obtained five letters sent by Osama bin Laden from Pakistan’s northwest tribal region.

The letters, in Arabic, are in bin Laden’s handwriting, and are directed at his supporters.

Two of the letters are directed at Taliban leader in Pakistan Mullah Mansour Dadallah, instructing him to increase the attacks on NATO forces at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

David Cameron’s call for a ban on Dr. Yusuf Al Qaradawi, the most prominent Muslim scholar and Chair of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, is gravely misguided and ill-informed.

In a speech to a working group between the Conservatives and the main German centre-right party the CDU, Mr Cameron urged the Government to "expel or refuse entry to those who preach hate, pit one faith against another and divide our society" and accused Dr. Qaradawi of "preaching hatred and sowing division".

No doubt Mr Cameron’s ignorant statements on Dr. Qaradawi are the result of mis-briefing by his neo-Conservative aides – foremost among them being Michael Gove. What is curious is that Gove has been active in "preaching hatred and sowing division" himself. A right-wing think tank of which he is a Patron, Policy Exchange, has been at the forefront of efforts to promote the familiar neo-con agenda of stigmatising Muslims and was only recently exposed as fabricating evidence in order to smear the Muslim community and its places of worship.

Mr. Cameron’s comments on Qaradawi show a similar disregard for evidence. If he cared to look more closely at Dr. Qaradawi’s own writings and track record, he would see that Qaradawi has been a prominent and staunch critic of terrorism, condemning it as a "heinous crime" and an act of "total barbarism". He condemned the attacks of September 11 2001 as "a grave sin" and was a leading member of the panel of prominent Muslim scholars which issued a fatwa deploring the attacks and stating that it was the duty of all Muslims to attempt to bring the terrorists to justice.

Far from preaching hatred, Dr. Qaradawi has himself severely denounced preachers such as Abu Hamza and Abu Qatada, stating "there are among Muslims some fringe groups who represent the strength of violence and extremism, such as Abu Hamza and Abu Qatada, but these have no scholarly, practical or community weight… We call for love not hate, for tolerance not fanaticism, for peace not war."

Cameron’s efforts to portray Dr Qaradawi as an anti-semite are disproved by Dr. Qaradawi’s constant emphasis on the special relations Muslims have had with Jews down the centuries, notably when the west persecuted and expelled them. Indeed, his work to promote understanding between Islam and other faiths has led him to share platforms and meet with such prominent figures as former-US President Bill Clinton, the French Foreign Minister, the Italian Foreign Minister and the Spanish royal family.

Misguided and ill-informed?  Via Wikipedia, here are  Qaradawi’s own words justifying suicide bombings against civilians and the killing of Jews.  This is another clear cut example of Muslims employing the art of taqiyya, which is Koran sanctioned lying to infidels…

Qaradawi strongly supports Palestinian attacks on Israeli targets, including against civilians, believing they are legitimate form of resistance. Qaradawi claims that hundreds of other Islamic scholars are of the same opinion.

Defending terrorist bombing against off duty soldiers Qaradawi told BBC Newsnight that:

• "An Israeli woman is not like women in our societies, because she is a soldier."
• "I consider this type of martyrdom operation as an evidence of God’s justice."
• "Allah Almighty is just; through his infinite wisdom he has given the weak a weapon the strong do not have and that is their ability to turn their bodies into bombs as Palestinians do".

Addressing a large group of local residents of this southern provincial capital city, he said, "Despite the big powers’ attempts to create discord between Iran and the regional nations, friendship and brotherhood have been further deepened and the enemies have been defeated."

Those whose arsenals are filled with bombs and have always supported the Zionists’ crimes in the occupied Palestine, are accusing Iran of being war-monger, the Iranian leader said, adding, "They have asked Iran to cancel all its peaceful nuclear activities even those of its scientific centers."

IMAGES of deadly and mysterious insurgents – including Baghdad sniper "Juba" – are replacing notorious terrorists as the spearheads of online jihadi recruitment drives.

The move comes as Allied forces kill top al-Qaeda commanders and force the terror groups to create anonymous personas to spread their message of hate.

And according to one of the world’s foremost internet terror experts the mythic status of these underground figures is becoming even more effective than videos from Osama bin Laden.

Washington-based researcher Evan Kohlmann, a consultant to the US and British Governments, told NEWS.com.au that under this system anyone could become a “star”.

“(Jihadi groups) are trying to create this idea of mystique of these shadowy, mysterious, almost anonymous, figures,” Mr Kohlmann said.

“I think that fits into their recruitment strategy – that anyone can become the next (al-Qaeda in Iraq’s figurehead) Abu Omar al-Baghdadi.”

Mr Kohlmann said after the death of top US target Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who led al-Qaeda’s operations in Iraq, the terror group could not afford to publicise real insurgents.

“When these guys pop up for these kind of visibility sessions (the videos), most of which are disseminated across the internet, they’re putting themselves at risk,” he said.

“I don’t think it necessarily helped al-Zarqawi, that everyone knew everything about his life and his face was such a marketable thing. After a while it became a liability for him.”

While purported terror chiefs like al-Baghdadi and al-Qaeda general Abu Hamza al-Muhajir keep a lower profile, arguably the most powerful figure used in jihadi propaganda – Baghdad sniper Juba – has resurfaced with another graphic video.

The first Juba video, featuring what appear to be the marksman’s attacks on US troops, appeared in 2005 and quickly became a cult classic among jihadis.

US authorities claimed they captured the feared sniper in June 2005 but the following year the anonymous assassin was back.

The latest video, created by al-Qaeda rivals the Islamic Army in Iraq, and released last month can be downloaded in nine languages in a variety of formats.

Canada finished fourth in a new survey ranking countries’ integrity, a study that praised Canadians for their well-regulated elections but criticized them for not better monitoring the gifts received by judges.

Bulgaria and the United States tied for first place on the list of 55 countries, while Latvia came in third. Canada tied for fourth with Spain, Japan, Italy and Romania.

The worst-ranked country was Lebanon, which was beaten by Algeria, Tajikistan, Egypt and Cameroon.

Mar Balochan (AsiaNews)- Two Muslim men from Nankanna admit kidnapping and killing the Christian boy, but his body has not been found even where the self-confessed murderers said they dumped him. Like others who have disappeared, Francis Nadeem is being used to get organs to sell to the rich, says the family.

Trafficking in human organs might be behind the recent spate of disappearances reported in and around Sangla Hill, a village in Punjab’s Nankanna district. The most sensational case is that of Francis Nadeem, a 15-year-old Christian who was abducted and killed according to his self-confessed captors. But so far his body has not been found and the police seem more interested in protecting the two culprits who are from influential local families. The story is reported in Pakistan Christian Post, a local Protestant paper that gathered the elements of the story from the family of the missing boy and from ROD (Rays of Development), an NGO that sent a fact finding team to the area.

Sadeeq Masih, Francis Nadeem’s father, said that in the evening of “20 December, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Zaman, two rich and powerful Muslims from a neighbouring village came to our house and took away Francis by force. They left on a motorbike and never came back. As soon as we could, we started looking for him everywhere, but without results.”
