Al-Qaeda Operative Pleads Guilty in Federal Court to Aiding 9/11 Architects, Preparing to Commit Future Terror Attacks…..

Al_marri_300-blog

If I had the time I could dig up post after post on Huff Po, Daily Kos, DU etc. calling the arrest of Ali al-Marri “fear mongering” by the Bush administration….

In a case the Obama administration was keenly interested in, a former Bradley University student pleaded guilty in Peoria federal court today to conspiring with, and providing support for, Al Qaeda operatives in the months before and after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Ali al-Marri, 43, spoke softly and occasionally smiled as U.S. District Judge Michael Mihm read aloud a timeline of criminal activity that included meetings with two key architects of the terrorist attacks, participating in terrorist training camps in Pakistan and researching cyanide compounds and other chemical agents purportedly for an attack on U.S soil.

“Ali al-Marri today admitted that he came here, to Peoria, Illinois, as an Al Qaeda operative the day before the Sept. 11 attacks to plan and prepare for future acts of terrorism within the United States,” said Jeffrey Lang, acting U.S. Attorney for the central district of Illinois.

Appearing in khaki pants, a plain white shirt and white kufi hat,the bearded al-Marri admitted to having associations with both Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, and Mustafa al-Hawsawi, chief financier of the attacks, prior to arriving in the U.S. on Sept. 10, 2001 after obtaining a student visa from Bradley University.

While training at several terrorist camps in Pakistan, al-Marri admitted he became an expert with military weapons, learned to conceal his identity online and used his computer to research chemical agents that could be used in an attack.

LA Times Getting All Teary-Eyed For Abu Zubaydah…..

Ap_Abu_Zubaydah_gitmo_080320_mn

Feel bad for Abu Zubaydah? No, I feel bad for the 3,000 people that were murdered in cold blood by Zubaydah and his al-Qaeda cohorts on 9/11…..

Abu Zubaydah’s suffering- LA Times

Lately, we’ve heard and read much about torture memos, waterboarding and insects in a box. It has been the occasion for somber reflection on our past and serious deliberation about our future. This is as it should be. It was Arizona Sen. John McCain, in talking about torture, who rightly reminded us that “it’s not about who they are. It’s about who we are.”

But perhaps we also should remember that there was a human being strapped to that board. His name is Zayn al Abidin Mohamed Hussein, known to the world as Abu Zubaydah.

Petraeus: Next Two Weeks Critical to Pakistan’s Survival…..

Talibanbuner

Calling the situation grim would be an understatement….

Gen. David Petraeus, commander of U.S. Central Command, has told U.S. officials the next two weeks are critical to determining whether the Pakistani government will survive, FOX News has learned.

“The Pakistanis have run out of excuses” and are “finally getting serious” about combating the threat from Taliban and Al Qaeda extremists operating out of Northwest Pakistan, the general added.

But Petraeus also said wearily that “we’ve heard it all before” from the Pakistanis and he is looking to see concrete action by the government to destroy the Taliban in the next two weeks before determining the United States’ next course of action, which is presently set on propping up the Pakistani government and military with counterinsurgency training and foreign aid.

Petraeus made these assessment in talks with lawmakers and Obama administration officials this week, according to individuals familiar with the discussions.

They said Petraeus and senior administration officials believe the Pakistani army, led by Chief of Staff Gen. Ashfaq Kayani, is “superior” to the civilian government, led by President Ali Zardari, and could conceivably survive even if Zardari’s government falls to the Taliban.

More than 1000 Copts have surrounded the remains of the demolished building, ready for martyrdom, said a church member.

“They have also assaulted the Coptic priest, Father Matta Zakaria, who tried to defend the demolition of the services building, as well as those present in the building”, added the Church member.

OIC Sharia Law Academy Debate Killing Apostates…With Not-So-Shocking Results…..

You can’t take the killing out of Islam, that’s what makes it Islam…..

(ANSAmed) – ROME, APRIL 30- In a session on religious freedom, at the ongoing International Islamic Fiqh Conference hosted by Sharjah, Muslim scholars from around the world yesterday debated how apostates should be treated according to Islamic law, Arab News website reports.

More than 200 delegates representing 60 countries are discussing diverse issues in the light of Shariah in the event organized by the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), an offshoot of the Jeddah-based Organization of the Islamic Conference.

While several scholars demanded a review of the punishment for apostates in the light of the changing modern values, others refuted their argument saying the original Islamic texts call for harsh punishments.

Some participants doubted the validity of texts quoted in support of the beheading of apostates. On the other hand, several others were adamant in their refusal to the demand for a lighter approach toward apostates in the name of freedom of religion.

“The view that Islamic scholars of the past had different views on how to punish apostates is incorrect. They only disagreed on how soon apostates should be executed; should it be done in three days, one week or few months. The waiting time is left to the discretion of the ruler,” said Muhammad Al-Nujaimi, a professor at the Higher Institute of Law in Riyadh.

Pakistani Army Claims Victory in Dir…Reality: Taliban Still in Full Control…..

Article-1172651-049EB75A000005DC-142_634x420

I feel compelled to post Bill Roggio’s Pakistan updates given the sheer amount of misinformation being floated by the MSM. Note: What are the odds the Pakistanis declare victory and pull their troops out while the Taliban is still in control?…..

The Taliban are in control of much of the northern district of Dir despite claims by senior Pakistani officials that the region was secured after a day’s fighting.

The Pakistani military operation, which began on April 26, focused on the Madain region in the southern portion of the district of Dir. The Madain region hosts the home town of Sufi Mohammed, the pro-Taliban cleric who is behind the Malakand Accord, the peace agreement that established sharia in Malakand, Dir, Chitral, Swat, Shangla, Buner, and Kohistan and put an end to military operations in Swat.

“The government’s writ seems non-existent for nearly 20km from the southern tip of the district,” the BBC reported. Security checkpoints have been abandoned in many regions outside of Timergara, the main city in Lower Dir. The Taliban often patrol the region and establish checkpoints to monitor traffic.

The Taliban are in control of the Chakdara-Talash region and the main road that connects Dir to the Taliban hotbed of Kabal, a sub-district in Swat. This region is used to allow Taliban forces in the Bajaur tribal agency to link up with their brethren in Swat. Dir also borders Afghanistan, and serves as a conduit for Taliban forces transiting the border.

The reports from Dir conflict with triumphant statements made by Pakistani political and military officials on April 27, just one day after the operation began. Interior Minister Rehman Malik claimedDir was under complete control of the security forces. Army Spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said the military successfully completed the Dir operation and claimed 75 Taliban fighters and 10 security personnel were killed during the fighting.

But the Taliban have disputed Abbas’ claim that 75 fighters, including a commander named Maulana Shahid, were killed. A Taliban spokesman claimed Shahid was alive, and that only four Taliban fighters were killed. The Pakistani military often inflates Taliban casualties and claims senior Taliban leaders are killed. These leaders more than often appear in the media and mock the Army.

The Pakistani military has relied on artillery and helicopter and air strikes to target the Taliban, and rarely can confirm enemy casualties. The heavy-handed tactics result in villages being leveled and the alienation of the civilian population.

The military and government’s claims of a quick victory in Dir are disputed by Pakistani civilians on the ground.

“When the government announced the end of operations yesterday, we were hopeful that things will get back to normal,” Haji Anwaruddin, the president of the Timerjara traders’ association told the BBC.

“But now we know they [the Pakistani government] are bluffing,” Anwaruddin said. “They want the world to know that fighting has ended when it hasn’t. I think we are in for a long haul.”

Israel Warns the Europeans: Stop Acting Like Sniveling Twats or You’ll be Shut out of Negotiations With the Palestinians….

Are the Euro-tards even capable of acting like adults when it comes to dealing with da Joooos?…..

A Foreign Ministry official has been warning European countries that unless they curtail criticism of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, Israel will block the European Union from participating in the diplomatic process with the Palestinians.

….“We want the European Union to be a partner [in the diplomatic process] but it is important to hold a mature and discreet dialogue and not to resort to public declarations,” Barak told the diplomats.

“A public confrontation was created that required Prime Minister Netanyahu, and even opposition head Tzipi Livni, to intervene. We have noted that the large European countries have respected our request and are granting the government time, but it is important that Europe be uniform in this matter,” Barak added.

Barak concluded by “warning” that Europe’s influence in the area would be undermined by such behavior. “Israel is asking Europe to lower the tone and conduct a discreet dialog,” he said. “However, if these declarations continue, Europe will not be able to be part of the diplomatic process, and both sides will lose.”

Donors demand refund from Specter

Breaking up is tough… Deciding who gets the CD-s, who gets the pet…. Hey – he’s only 79 years old young. What great timing to switch parties.

Donors demand refund from Specter

Sen. Arlen Specter’s switch to the Democratic Party is prompting his
campaign donors large and small to demand their money back, including
several Republican senators whose political action committees gave tens
of thousands of dollars to the Pennsylvania lawmaker.

Sen. Johnny Isakson didn’t waste any time putting himself at
the front of the refund line. The Georgia Republican asked Mr. Specter
for a return of his leadership political action committee’s $5,000
contribution Tuesday on the Senate floor – just hours after Mr. Specter
announced he was changing his political stripes.

“Senator Specter readily agreed to return the contribution,”
said Isakson spokeswoman Sheridan Watson, adding that the exchange was
cordial.

While not legally bound to refund any legitimate campaign
donation, Mr. Specter has pledged to honor requests for refunds – and
the requests are pouring in.

Talibanization of Pakistan Continues: College Bans Western-Style Clothes After Terror Threats…..

And this is not in Swat or the Tribal Agencies, but in Lahore (which is considered cosmopolitan by Pakistani standards)…..

LAHORE: The Kinnaird College (KC) administration has banned the students from wearing jeans or other tight dresses in the wake of possible terrorist threats. The college has imposed a strict dress code that only allows students to wear Eastern dresses such as shalwar qameez or loose trousers. Dupatas have been made mandatory.

KC Vice Principal Nikhat Khan told Daily Times the measures were in line with a government notification, and had no connection withrumours about burqa-clad women issuing warnings to students. She said jeans and tight dresses were banned on college premises since years but the new principal was unaware of the ban and girls were using this to their advantage. Students reported an atmosphere of fear after the introduction of rules that barred students from wearing dresses of their choice.

Obama’s Holocaust Lesson: “Forgive and Forget” – Never Again… Fight Evil

It’s “old news”, except I missed out when it happened and when it was published. This is too astonishing to ignore and illustrated by an excellent article by Michael Ledeen.

And silly me thinking “Never Again” means – never allow neither tolerate genocide. I guess I should be sent to a reeducation camp and be forced to study some of dear leader’s inspirational literature – like Karl Marx.

No president in modern times has managed to conceal so much of his
biography as this one.  The journalists assigned to the Obama beat seem
to have lost their traditional avidity for digging out the missing
details.   We do not have a medical report, or a college transcript
from Columbia, or a notion of how well he did in Harvard Law School.

These things are not automatically significant, but they can be.
Nobody thinks the president has some basic medical problem.  He shows
every sign of being in excellent physical condition.  But so did John
F. Kennedy, who turned out to have had Addison’s Disease, and was
taking steroids and pain killers, which had an effect on his
performance.  We didn’t know it at the time.  We should have.

What did Obama study?  With whom?  How well did he do?  Obama
occasionally says things that are uncharacteristic of cultured persons,
as when he flubs the number of states in the U.S., or when he seems to
believe that they speak “Austrian” in Vienna.  Are these just
occasional slips of the tongue?  Or did his college and law school
years show a pattern of ignorance?  We’re entitled to know these
things, but there is a disappointing, albeit quite predictable, lack of
curiosity by the usual suspects in the media hunter/killer packs.

…

He then gave his version of “never again,” and it’s a very odd
version indeed. First, he draws hope from the survivors of the
Holocaust.  Those who came to America had a higher birthrate than the
Jews who were already living here, and those members of “a chosen
people” who created Israel.  These, he says, chose life and asserted it
despite the horrors they had endured.  And then he goes on:

We find cause for hope as well in Protestant and
Catholic children attending school together in Northern Ireland; in
Hutus and Tutsis living side-by-side, forgiving neighbors who have done
the unforgivable; in a movement to save Darfur that has thousands of
high school and college chapters in 25 countries and brought 70,000
people to the Washington Mall, people of every age and faith and
background and race united in common cause with suffering brothers and
sisters halfway around the world.

Those numbers can be our future, our fellow citizens of the world
showing us how to make the journey from oppression to survival, from
witness to resistance and ultimately to reconciliation. That is what we
mean when we say “never again.”

So “never again” means that we learn from others how to forgive and
forget, and ultimately live happily with one another.  But that is not
what “never again” means, at least for the generation of the Holocaust
and for most of those who followed.  For them, “never again” means that
we will destroy the next would-be Fuhrer.  In his entire speech, Obama
never once mentions that the United States led a coalition of free
peoples against Germany, Italy and Japan, nor does he ever discuss the
obligation of sacrifice to prevent a recurrence. Indeed, his examples
suggest that he doesn’t grasp the full dimensions of the struggle
against evil.   Northern Ireland is a totally inappropriate example
(nothing remotely approaching a Holocaust took place there), the
relations between Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda and Burundi are hardly
characterized by forgiveness, even though the president of Burundi is
striving mightily to achieve a peaceful modus vivendi, and as for
Darfur, well, despite the tens of thousands who demonstrated on the
Mall, nobody has done much of anything to stop the Khartoum regime from
slaughtering the peoples of the south.

UC Santa Barbara Professor Being Investigated After Sending Email to Students Comparing Israelis to Nazis….

025

Fire this cocksucker…..

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The University of California, Santa Barbara, is investigating allegations of improper conduct and anti-Semitism against a Jewish professor who compared Israel’s treatment of Palestinians to the Holocaust.

Sociology professor William I. Robinson sent an e-mail to 80 of his students in January that contained photos of Jews killed by the Nazis and similar photos of Palestinians killed in the recent Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip. The e-mail used the terms concentration camp and genocide when referring to Gaza.

Two Jewish students quit the class and filed complaints. Jewish groups also have complained.

Robinson argues that he was within his rights of academic freedom to challenge students with controversial topics.

Report: Obama Overrides DHS, FBI Objections (Again) and Will Release Gitmo Terrorists Into US as Early as Next Week….

Since it’s a near certainty at this point, move them next to a family of bed-wetting liberals….then let the fun begin…..

Moving quickly to release Chinese Uighur terrorists into the United States, Obama administration officials have — for the second time — overridden objections of federal agencies responsible for national security.

The first time — as I reported on April 20– the White House overrode the inter-agency panel it created from all the national security agencies to review all the cases of the Guantanamo Bay prisoners.  That panel found that the seventeen Uighurs — members of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement captured at an al-Queda training camp in Pakistan — were too dangerous to release in the United States.

Now — according to a federal agency source who requested anonymity — the White House has also overridden opposition to the release from both the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

Beginning yesterday and continuing today, Obama administration officials are briefing key members of Congress on the release, which may happen as early as next week.  There apparently has been no decision on where the Uighurs will be turned loose.  Earlier reports suggested they could be released in Alexandria, Virginia or Washington, D.C.

Saudis Freak-out After US Official Claims Wahhabi King Shook Hands With Joooo President….

Saudi-king-abdullah

Because everyone knows Joooo-cooties are deadly in the Islamic world…..

Riyadh -Saudi Arabia’s official news agency on Thursday denied that Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah shook Israel President Shimon Peres’ hand last November.

‘On the margins of an interfaith dialogue sessions last fall, the king spoke with Israeli President Peres, the first such exchange between Saudi and Israeli leaders,’ US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns said at a Monday conference on Saudi-US relations in Washington.

‘King Abdullah is also the first Saudi leader to meet with the pope,’ Burns added, according to a transcript provided by the New America Foundation, which organized the conference.

‘What Burns said was untrue,’ Riyadh’s official Saudi Press Agency said Thursday, in reference to the meeting with Peres.

The suggestion of a handshake between the two heads of state struck a nerve in Saudi Arabia, where the press at the time had been careful to clarify that there had been no direct encounter between the two at the November conference.

‘No handshakes were exchanged between the custodian of the two holy mosques and … Peres,’ Saudi Arabia’s al-Watan newspaper reported after the UN conference, adding that the two men had been seated separately at dinner.

British Airline BMI Wipes Israel off its Maps to Please Muslim Customers…..

Bmi-a320

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reportedly overjoyed…..

British airline BMI has deleted Israel from electronic maps that appear on its flights in order to avoid angering Muslim passengers, Army Radio reported on Thursday.

Additional efforts on to appeal to Muslim customers include showing the distance and relation of the plane to Mecca, the direction to which Muslims face when they pray.

In the electronic maps appearing on a BMI flight from London to Tel Aviv, for example, Israel and its cities are not marked, with the exception of Haifa, which is spelled ‘Khefa,’ the city’s Arab name dating to before the War of Independence.

BMI operates flights from England to many popular Muslim destinations, including Syria, Lebanon and Iran, but has also recently launched an agreement with the Tourism Ministry to add Israel to its roster.

Afghanistan: Taliban Running out of Muslims to Blow up? Suicide Donkey Bomber Targets British Troops…..

I’m sure the Talibs got in one last fuck before they sent the donkey to meet Allah…..

A senior British Army officer and six other military personnel survived an attack when a tethered donkey laden with explosives was detonated as their armored vehicle passed in southern Afghanistan.

The huge explosion showered the soldier standing on “top cover” out of the Mastiff’s turret with donkey entrails and blood, and the sight was so gruesome that the rest of those in the vehicle thought he had been mortally wounded in the blast, south of Garmsir in southern Helmand province.

“I’m all right, I’m all right,” he shouted, according to one of the officers at the incident who spoke to The Times, giving the first account of the incident.

US Officials Fear Pakistani Army Might Disintegrate if Ordered to Fight All-Out War Against the Taliban….

Muslims killing Muslims, fighting on behalf of the infidel American government with shit-loads of Islamist sympathizers in the Pakistani army…what could go wrong?…..

LAHORE: The Pakistan Army officers are afraid that if they ask the rank and file to fire on the Taliban too much, the whole army might disintegrate, Bruce Riedel, a senior Obama administration official, has said.

The Obama administration is considering expediting aid to Pakistan to block militants threatening a cluster of strategic installations, The Washington Times has reported.

Grip: Bruce Riedel, who chaired the Obama administration’s recent review of policy towards Afghanistan and Pakistan, has said the Pakistani government and army are still not coming to grips with the crisis. “Some officials are in denial,” he said.

Riedel expressed concern, however, about whether the Pakistani army would be willing to kill large numbers of the Taliban.Army’s spokesman Maj-Gen Athar Abbas has said the operation against around 500 Taliban could take a week.

Arlen Specter Calls for “Rebellion and Uprising” in Republican Party to Purge Those Who Don’t Want to Sell-Out Their Principles for Winning Elections….

Vlcsnap-10649990

Because what could be worse that having convictions?….

(CNSNews.com) -  There ought to be a “rebellion” and an “uprising” against right-wing elements that are trying to purify the Republican Party, Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania said Tuesday, shortly after he announced he would leave the Grand Old Party to become a Democrat.

Specter said Republicans “far to the right”  in the party, who are more worried about ideology than winning elections
, have brought about one costly defeat after another for the GOP, including the tabling of 34 of President Bush’s nominees for federal judgeships. Those defeats were the result of the right’s opposition to moderates in the party, such as himself, said Specter.

“They [Republicans on far right] don’t make any bones about their willingness to lose the general election if they can purify the party,” Specter said at his Tuesday press conference. “I don’t understand it, but that’s what they say.”

Denmark: 18% of Muslims Want to see Sharia law Implemented….

The fruits of multiculturalism…..

Close to a fifth of Muslims in Denmark want to see Sharia law implemented in Denmark.A study conducted by analysis institute Capacent for DR news shows that 18% of Muslims in Denmark declare they ‘agree’ or ‘completely agree’ with the statement: “Sharia law should be integrated into Danish law”.

Sharia legislation is several hundred years old and built on principles from the Koan and report of the Prophet Muhammad’s life.

In countries like Sudan, Nigeria and Iran sharia law means that adultery or stealing can lead to cutting off of hands or whipping.  At the same time, there are laws which considerably place women worse off than men, which means that women can be refused the right to a divorce.

In several Western countries, some Sharia law is implemented.  Here in Denmark it’s possible to receive a so-called sharia-loan without interest, and in Great Britain there are so-called sharia councils which can solve private conflicts between Muslims.

For more study results see:
* Denmark: 55% of Muslims think criticizing religion should be forbidden, 64% support curtailing freedom of speech
* Denmark: Close to 90% of Muslims would vote for the Left
* Denmark: 60% don’t go to mosque, imams unrepresentative

NY Times Reporter Not Even Trying to Hide his Love for Obama: “What has Enchanted you the Most?”…..

Barack-obama

“Enchanted?” Is he fucking serious? Try and imagine a New York Times reporter asking Bush what “enchanted” him the most during his presidency…..

Jeff Zeleney of the New York Times somehow managed to sneak in a 4-part question during President Obama’s press conference marking his first 100 days in office. Zeleny asked the President what he surprised him, enchanted him, troubled him, and humbled him about the office during these first 100 days. Obama interrupted Zeleny partway through his question so he could write it down, a move that elicited laughter from the press corps, especially when Zeleny repeated his query about what “enchanted” him.

QUESTION: Thank you, Mr. President.

During these first 100 days, what has surprised you the most about
this office? Enchanted you the most from serving in this office?

Humbled you the most? And troubled you the most?

OBAMA: Now let me write this down.

(LAUGHTER)

OBAMA: I’ve got…

QUESTION: Surprised, troubled…

Ohio: Catholic Bishop Says He’ll Bar Sen. Casey From Receiving Communion if he Continues to be Pro-Abortion….

I’m still waiting for the Bishops here in Mass to ban our staunchly pro-abortion and Catholic senators, John Kerry and Ted Kennedy….

For the first time publicly, Diocese of Scranton Bishop Joseph F. Martino made it clear Wednesday that he might eventually bar U.S. Sen. Bob Casey from receiving communion if the senator doesn’t follow his advice on opposing abortion.

The bishop also said the senator should now think twice about receiving communion after voting Tuesday to confirm an abortion rights supporter, former Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, as Health and Human Services secretary.

“If necessary, future determinations will be made regarding whether Sen. Casey is worthy to receive Holy Communion,” a Diocese of Scranton statement on Casey’s vote said. “However, at this point Bishop Martino believes it is incumbent upon Sen. Casey to reflect on his actions and ask himself if he should receive the sacrament.”

The bishop said he plans to continue to monitor Casey’s positions and votes on “life issues.” He also believes he has “a pastoral responsibility to instruct the senator about these serious moral issues” because Casey is a member of the diocese.

In letters last month and earlier this week, the bishop warned Casey against voting for Sebelius.

Toronto: Court Rules Islamic Triple Talaq Divorce not Valid in Canada…..

Go Canada!…..

TORONTO — Muslims in the GTA are monitoring the case of a Toronto woman whose bid to sponsor a new husband to Canada was nixed because a religious “talaq” divorce of her first spouse is not recognized in Ontario.

Hoda Hussein Hazimeh claims a “talaq” divorce with ex-husband Ali Hammoud conducted under Sharia law and registered in Lebanon should be recognized hereso she can sponsor her second husband, Hafez Farhat.

But federal court disagreed and ruled against her.

A talaq divorce under Sharia law can be performed on the telephone. In it, the couple repeat “I divorce you” three times in front of community leaders and witnesses.

“This decision can have a huge impact on those who practise Sharia law or religious marriages,” said Hazimeh’s lawyer, Edward Corrigan.

“Many people will be impacted if these divorces are not recognized in Canada.”

Federal immigration officials have been getting tough on those practising talaq marriages and divorces, Corrigan said.
