Denmark and the Netherlands Now Want Referendums on Minaret Ban….

Swissminaret

To the opponents of the minaret ban. When Islamic countries start allowing church steeples (name one that doesn’t outlaw or make it nearly impossible to build one) and we’ll talk….

It’s been criticized as an expression of prejudice at odds with European values of tolerance. But in a referendum on November 29, Swiss voters approved a ban on the building of minarets.

And now populist parties in Denmark and the Netherlands say they want referendums, too.

The calls came from two parties known for their tough stances on immigration.

Geert Wilders, head of the Dutch Freedom Party, told the Dutch daily “Volkskrant” that his party “will call upon the government to make a similar referendum possible in the Netherlands.”

And in Denmark, Danish People’s Party head Pia Kjaersgaard welcomed the Swiss ban and said her party would also seek a similar vote.

Martin Henriksen, a deputy for the Danish People’s Party, acknowledged that Denmark currently had no mosques with minarets. But he told RFE/RL that Muslim immigrants have to adapt to Danish society, not the other way around.

“There are plans in Copenhagen and other Danish cities to build grand mosques, and we oppose it in every way possible. And this could be another way to oppose it,” Henriksen says.

Chutzpah: Patches Kennedy Invokes Bible to Pass Abortion-Funding ObamaCare…

Patrick%20Kennedy

Time to go back to rehab, Patches….

PROVIDENCE, R.I.— Rep. Patrick Kennedy used the language of faith Monday to rally support for expanding the nation’s health insurance system in his first public appearance since escalating a public feud with Rhode Island’s Roman Catholic bishop over health care and publicly financed abortion.

Kennedy, a Catholic, refused to address head-on his weeks long war of words with Bishop Thomas Tobin, the spiritual leader of the nation’s most heavily Catholic state. The fracas escalated just over a week ago when it was revealed that Tobin asked Kennedy in early 2007 not to receive Holy Communion because of his support for abortion rights.

“In the final analysis, all of us are children of God, all of us have the spark of divinity,” Kennedy told a Brown University audience during a panel discussion of the politics of health care reform. “And if any one of us is denied health care, it really is a threat to who we call ourselves as human beings.”

Is this his way of digging at the Catholic church for refusing to give him Holy Communion?…

Liberal Blogger Charles Johnson Hyperventilating Again: “Three Wise Monkeys” Is Waaacist….

WashTimes

Washed-up has-been blogger Charles Johnson of Little Green Asspirates pulled himself away from his own comments section (where he constantly berates people who disagree with him) and Googling his name just long enough to give us this gem….

The racism at the Washington Times is bubbling to the surface for all to smell, like noxious sewer gas.Today they ran the following advertisement, a lunatic Birther ad featuring images of monkeys. This isn’t even “dog whistle” racism. It’s right in your face, poking you in the eye.

(no link for the Lizard King -ed.)

Yes, calling a black man a chimp or an ape is racist, using the three wise monkeys is not (especially when their not being used to describe Obama)….

(Wikipedia)

The three wise monkeys (Japanese: 三猿, san’en or sanzaru, or 三匹の猿, sanbiki no saru, literally “three monkeys”) are a pictorial maxim. Together they embody the proverbial principle to “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil. Sometimes there is a fourth monkey depicted with the three others; the last one, Shizaru, symbolizes the principle of “do no evil”. He may be shown covering his abdomen or genital area, or crossing his arms.

Poland Bans Che Guevara T-Shirts….

Che

Trendy hipster toolbags everywhere recoil in horror….

Europe has long been condemning the communist regime, but none of the countries has gone as far as Poland, where a law was signed allowing people to be fined or imprisoned for keeping and buying communist symbols.

Twenty years after the fall of communism in Eastern Europe, the Polish government are about to completely erase memories of the Cold War past and make everything from the hammer and sickle and red flag to trendy Che Guevara t-shirts and posters illegal.

On Friday, President Lech Kaczynski approved an amendment to the criminal code which outlaws production, possession, spread and sale of items or recordings containing symbols of communism. Anyone who disobeys the law – for instance, waves a red flag singing The Internationale in the centre of Warsaw – can be fined or even sent to jail for up to two years.

However, communist attributes can still be used for artistic, research and educational purposes. Collectors will not be punished either.

The law was put forward by the opposition Law and Justice Party and was passed by the Polish parliament in early November.

“Communism was a genocidal system that led to the murder of tens of millions of people,” Jaroslaw Kaczynski – the president’s twin brother and the head of the party – said back then. “No symbol of communism has a right to exist in Poland, because these are symbols of a genocidal system that should be compared to German Nazism.”

The law also bans the display of the Nazi symbols, which is quite common for many European countries including Germany. It is the outlawing of the communist symbols that makes the Polish initiative unusual.

While left-wing MPs and some others argued that the law is ill-defined, the majority of the population is likely to see the Soviet Union as one the worst evils of the last century.

Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-Complete Douchebag): Bush “Intentionally” Let Bin Laden Escape to Justify Iraq War….

Jackass….

“Look what happened with regard to our invasion into Afghanistan, how we apparently intentionally let bin Laden get away. How we intentionally did not follow the Taliban and al-Qaeda as they were escaping. That was done by the previous administration because they knew very well that if they would capture al-Qaeda, there would be no justification for an invasion in Iraq,” Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) said.

Poll: 61% of Republicans and Republican Leaning Independents Say GOP Puts “Too Little” Emphasis on Illegal Immigration….

No. Shit. Sherlock.

Sixty-one percent of Republicans and independents who say they lean towards the Republican Party say they think the Republican Party puts “too little” emphasis on the issue of illegal immigration, according to a new Washington Post poll.

The poll asked respondents their opinion about the degree of emphasis the Republican Party puts on eight issues: gun rights, same-sex marriage, abortion, federal spending, taxes, the environment, illegal immigration, and the economy and jobs.

The question was: “Thinking about the Republican Party in general and not just the people in Congress, for each issue area I name, please tell me if you think the party in general puts (too much) emphasis on the issue, (too little) emphasis on the issue, or about the right amount?”

Of the eight issues, illegal immigration was the one to which the most people said the party gave too little emphasis.  Sixty-one percent of the Republicans and Republican leaning independents said the GOP gave illegal immigration too little emphasis
. Another 29 percent said the GOP gives illegal immigration the right amount of emphasis. Only 9 percent said the GOP gives illegal immigration too much emphasis.

Document Reveals UN’s Goal of Becoming Global Rule-Maker for Environmental Laws, Says “Environmentalism Should be Regarded on the Same Level With Religion”….Updated: I have to add my two cents (momma)

Fuckun

Should be clear to everyone that the UN is using the myth of “climate change” as an unparalleled power grab….

(Fox News)- Environmentalism should be regarded on the same level with religion “as the only compelling, value-based narrative available to humanity,” according to a paper written two years ago to influence the future strategy of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP), the world’s would-be environmental watchdog.

The purpose of the paper, put together after an unpublicized day-long session in Switzerland by some of the world’s top environmental bureaucrats: to argue for a new and unprecedented effort to move environmental concerns to “the center of political and economic decision-making” around the world — and perhaps not coincidentally, expand the influence and reach of UNEP

The Green Economy Initiative, also called the Global Green New Deal, is a major counterpart to the new treaty on greenhouse gas suppression that all branches of the United Nations, and a horde of environmental organizations, are lobbying loudly to bring to agreement at the environmental summit in Copenhagen.

The ambitious paper, entitled “The UNEP That We Want,” was the product of a select group of 20 top environmental bureaucrats and thinkers, including UNEP’s current No. 2 official, Angela Cropper. The document was later delivered to UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner.

Other participants included Janos Pasztor, currently head of the team pushing U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s unprecedented Seal the Deal lobbying campaign to pressure U.N. member governments into signing a new environmental agreement at Copenhagen; Julia Marton-Lefevre head of the World Conservation Union; Dominic Waughray, currently head of environmental initiatives at the World Economic Forum; and Maria Ivanova, a Bulgarian academic who is director of the Global Economic Governance Project at the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy.

….The report was “very well received” by UNEP’s hierarchy, according to Halle, and “it has had a great impact internally.” He added, “I have participated in several discussions and presentations of the ideas.”

UPDATE: I just posted this exact same article, so I took mine down so I am adding my thoughts here. (momma)

This leads to only one place: New World Order. They know that Americans are already leery of the UN and so they figure the only way to grab control of America is through the Children’s Rights Crap and through global warming treaties/agreements. We need to have one collective voice: NO!  Everyone needs to call all of their elected officials and demand to know what they are doing about the Climategate e-mails.  We need to demand that they vote no on ObamaCare and insist that BO and his minions agree to nothing in Copenhagen. Tell them that their re-election is based on two things: 1. ObamaCare…2. Copenhagen. Tell them that if Obama agrees to give funds or enters into any agreement that this Congress will be held responsible. We all must write our local papers.  We must increase the awareness.  We must keep a VERY close eye on the happenings in Copenhagen next week. ZIP

Teaching plan: America ‘an oppressive hellhole’

Words just freaking fail me on this one.

WND A program proposed at the University of Minnesota would result in required examinations of teacher candidates on “white privilege” as well as “remedial re-education” for those who hold the “wrong” views, according to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education.

The organization, which promotes civil liberties on the campuses of America’s colleges and universities, has dispatched a letter to University of Minnesota President Robert Bruininks asking him to intervene to prevent the adoption of policies proposed in his College of Education and Human Development.

“The university’s general counsel should be asked to comment as soon as possible,” said the letter from Adam Kissel, an officer with FIRE. “If the Race, Culture, Class, and Gender Task Group achieves its stated goals, the result will be political and ideological screening of applicants, remedial re-education for those with the ‘wrong’ views and values, [and] withholding of degrees from those upon whom the university’s political re-education efforts proved ineffective.”

Green-Hypocrisy: From Sheryl Crowe, To John Travolta, To Al Gore, To The Copenhagen Summit

Goinggreentravolta

I don’t let my husband lecture men so I am damn sure not letting ‘line readers’. Wait a second,

Hypocrisy is the vice we find hardest to forgive, but it’s also the one we most enjoy discovering in others. And nothing piques our interest more than eco-hypocrisy as practised by the “green” celebrities who have been spouting green virtue but spewing out hundreds of tons of carbon from their private jets or multiple holiday homes around the globe.

There was Sheryl Crow, who had called upon the public to refrain from using more than one square of toilet paper per visit (“except on those pesky occasions when two or three are required”) and who was leading a Stop Global Warming concert tour across America. It was revealed that while Crow travelled in a biodiesel tour bus, her 30-person entourage followed in a fleet of 13 gas-guzzling vehicles.

John Travolta notoriously encouraged the British public to do its bit to fight global warming — after flying into London on one of his five, yes, five private jets (one of which is a Boeing 707). In 2006 his piloting hobby produced an estimated 800 tons of carbon emissions, more than a hundred times the output of the average Briton, according to the Carbon Trust.

…

At the end of the film An Inconvenient Truth, the unbearably earnest former presidential candidate Al Gore asked his audience: “Are you ready to change the way you live?” His own huge Nashville mansion consumed over 20 times the electricity of an average American home. Indeed, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research, it burnt twice as much power in the month of August 2006 than most American homes do in an entire year. Another inconvenient truth revealed that the former senator spent $500 a month just to heat the indoor swimming pool in his lavish domestic establishment. The 100ft houseboat he bought in 2008, on the other hand, was said to be powered by biodiesel.

…

It was just as green activists began worrying about eco-fatigue — the green equivalent of compassion fatigue — two years ago that the first wave of celebrity eco-hypocrisy stories hit. The first thing these stories did was make us feel better about our own relatively minor eco-failings. They also allowed us to vent the irritation we feel about being lectured by actors, rock stars and lesser species of celebrity.

There is something annoying about the way “ordinary” people are being told they must give up their “addiction” to cheap travel, when no leading Hollywood star — not even Leonardo DiCaprio, who often flies commercial — can bring themselves to relinquish the private jet.

…

The Copenhagen summit next week will generate vast quantities of hot air. It will see 16,500 people coming in from 192 countries. That amounts to 41,000 tons of carbon dioxide, roughly the same as the carbon emissions of Morocco in 2006. Also, the organisers will lay 900 kilometres of computer cable and 50,000 square miles of carpet. More than 200,000 meals will be served and visitors will drink 200,000 cups of coffee — at least that will be organic.

When asked if the carbon footprint might have been reduced by turning Copenhagen into a video conference, a spokesman for the event said: “For such a major agreement, people need to meet together and negotiate face to face. We have delegates from all over the world. Video-conferencing systems are extremely useful, but they don’t match the personal touch. This is one of the main factors in having a good conference.”

Obama meets Hu, says Tibet part of China

Hmm, did anyone notice the complete absence of mention of this story by the MSM?

Times of India BEIJING: Describing Tibet as part of China, US President Barack Obama today supported the early resumption of talks between Beijing and representatives of the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. ( Watch Video )

“We did note that while we recognise that Tibet is part of the People’s Republic of China, the United States supports the early resumption of dialogue” between the Dalai Lama’s representatives and Beijing,” Obama said after his meeting with Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.

Chinese President Hu Jintao hailed US President Barack Obama’s recognition of sovereignty issues dear to China.

“China approves of President Obama’s repeated reiteration of the one-China principle,” Hu told reporters.

“One-China Policy.” In other words, Tibet never to be sovereign and free, and he just sold Taiwan down the river as well.

Germany home to 90 combat Islamists: report

Thelocal There are about 90 combat-trained Islamists in Germany moving among underground networks, Focus magazine reported Saturday, as intelligence agencies and police prepare to overhaul the country’s anti-terrorism approach.

Some 30 of them have actual fighting experience through clashes with US or Pakistani soldiers, the magazine reported, citing German security sources.

In total, 185 Islamists trained in terrorist camps in central Asia had lived or worked in Germany in the past 10 years, the sources said.

Quote Of The Day Comes From Jon Summers, A Spokeman For Harry Reid…Trust me, it is full of WTF?!

Harry Reid has had an on-going feud with his ‘local’ paper, The LasVegas Review-Journal, and and its publisher, Sherman Frederick.   It has been so heated that Fredrick has called Reid a ‘political corpse’ and his recent blog post said, “Isn’t the slogan ‘Harry Reid — independent like Nevada’ libelous as hell?” (Politico)

“Sen. Reid believes there’s an important role for the media to play in
covering government,”
said Jon Summers, a Reid spokesman. “It’s also
incumbent on the media, especially on the RJ, to respect that role and
provide balanced coverage.”

“We’ve noticed times when the opinions on the editorial page appear to bleed over into the news section,”
Summers added

Seriously, that is their pathetic response? Did they say that about the NYT, LA Times, Boston Globe? What about the news wires such as AP and Reuters? F*cking moonbat ‘the news is our opinion’ pushers.

ObamaCare Debate Starts…Mitch McConnell: “I Don’t Know What’s More Preposterous, Saying That This Plan ‘Saves Medicare’ or Thinking That People Will Actually Believe You”….

Wow, a GOP zinger. I like it . . .

Yahoo – Riven by partisanship, the Senate plunged into a widely anticipated debate Monday over sweeping health care legislation that President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats have vowed to approve and Republicans sworn to block.

Debate is expected to last for weeks over the legislation, which includes a first-time requirement for most Americans to carry insurance and would require insurers to cover any paying customer regardless of their medical history or condition.

“We must avoid the temptation to drown in distractions and distortions,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said in the first moments of the first speech of the day, a jab at Republicans that was reciprocated minutes later.

“Well, I don’t know what’s more preposterous: saying that this plan ’saves Medicare’ or thinking that people will actually believe you,” Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, said of Reid’s oft-made statement.

Dumb: AFP Quotes Jihadi Group Behind Mumbai Massacre Lashkar-e-Taiba on Swiss Minaret Ban. Seriously Retarded: Terror Group Decries Ban as Blow for “Inter-Faith Harmony”….

Good-fucking-grief….

(Weekly Standard)- Switzerland’s ban on the building of minarets, the tall towers attached to mosques, is sure to spark outrage among Muslim groups worldwide. Interestingly enough, AFP decided to skip the various U.S. Muslim-grievance groups that act as fronts and apologists for Islamist terrorist groups and went straight to the source: the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, which is a front for the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Yahya Mujahid, a spokesman for Islamic charity Jamaat-ud-Dawa – accused of being a front for the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba radical insurgent group – also decried the referendum as a blow for inter-faith harmony.

‘This new decision violates the principles of mutual understanding and religious tolerance,’Mujahid said.

‘The West never takes respite in claiming to be champions of religious tolerance and inter-faith harmony, but this latest decision shows their bias against Muslims,’ he added.

Perhaps AFP should have asked Jamaat-ud-Dawa/Lashkar-e-Taiba’s spokesman about how the group’s terror assault teams that struck in Mumbai, India were “a blow for inter-faith harmony.”

Obama Orders Military Leaders to Begin Carrying Out New Afghan War Plan….

Obama_mcchrystal

And it only took 93 days…..

(Washington Times)- President Obama ordered top military leaders to begin carrying out his new strategy for the war in Afghanistan, a move that is believed to include the deployment of more than 30,000 additional troops into the eight year old conflict, the White House confirmed Monday.

In a 5 p.m. Oval Office meeting Sunday with his defense secretary, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and his top military commanders, Mr. Obama “communicated the final decision on the strategy and issued orders as to the strategy’s implementation,” said Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

“The commander in chief delivered the orders,” Mr. Gibbs said.

That meeting was immediately followed by a video conference with Gen. Stanley McCrystal and Amb. Karl W. Eikenberry to relay the details of the orders. On Monday, Mr. Gibbs said the president will hold a series of phone calls, video conferences and in person meetings with other world leaders to prepare them for the Tuesday speech that sets forth his new plans for military engagement in Afghanistan.

Lefty Behemoth Michael Moore Sends Rambling Semi-Coherent Letter to Obama Begging Him to Lose The War in Afghanistan…..

Michael-moore

And I quote, “liberals fucking hate these generals”….

Dear President Obama,

Do you really want to be the new “war president”? If you go to West Point tomorrow night (Tuesday, 8pm) and announce that you are increasing, rather than withdrawing, the troops in Afghanistan, you are the new war president. Pure and simple. And with that you will do the worst possible thing you could do — destroy the hopes and dreams so many millions have placed in you. With just one speech tomorrow night you will turn a multitude of young people who were the backbone of your campaign into disillusioned cynics. You will teach them what they’ve always heard is true — that all politicians are alike. I simply can’t believe you’re about to do what they say you are going to do. Please say it isn’t so.

It is not your job to do what the generals tell you to do. We are a civilian-run government. WE tell the Joint Chiefs what to do, not the other way around. That’s the way General Washington insisted it must be. That’s what President Truman told General MacArthur when MacArthur wanted to invade China. “You’re fired!,” said Truman, and that was that. And you should have fired Gen. McChrystal when he went to the press to preempt you, telling the press what YOU had to do. Let me be blunt: We love our kids in the armed services, but we f*#&in’ hate these generals, from Westmoreland in Vietnam to, yes, even Colin Powell for lying to the UN with his made-up drawings of WMD (he has since sought redemption).

So now you feel backed into a corner. 30 years ago this past Thursday (Thanksgiving) the Soviet generals had a cool idea — “Let’s invade Afghanistan!” Well, that turned out to be the final nail in the USSR coffin.
