There has been two cases in my local news (Central Ohio) about hundreds of personal documents being found in different cars. This ‘paper-trail’ seems to be happening a lot lately doesn’t it? Any similar stories in your area?

Hundreds of shredded documents bearing personal data were found blowing in the wind along a road in Des Plaines, Ill., the Chicago Tribune reports after being tipped off by a reader.

The
records included 2009 W-2 forms, job applications, investment
statements, many bearing Social Security numbers and other sensitive
information, the paper writes. Who shredded the documents and how they
wound up along the road remains a mystery for now.

One victim is Elida Cruz, a former bank officer who told the Tribune she used to assure her customers that their personal information was safe.

“I
am pretty much disgusted with this,” the Chicago resident after the
paper told her it found at least 17 documents containing her Social
Security number. The paperwork was from a job application with Rabjohns
Financial Group/New England Financial in Chicago, which included a
completed U4 form required in the industry.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the “global arrogance” on this year’s anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

“The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism,” Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.

“If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles,” he added.

Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.

This title is nothing close to what Ailes said.  Ailes did say the WH has opened the lines of communication again and even though they still disagree, the WH has stopped trying to kick them out of the Press Pool.

This Huff. Post title makes it seem as though Ailes admitted Fox had been biased against Odogma but that they finally decided to stop their anti-Obama agenda.  What a crock.  They report the news.  All of it.  It isn’t Fox’s fault that the Left’s hero is a terrible, inexperienced child that to everyone except the American People.

LA Times- Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris drew criticism from a leading Muslim group today after saying in his annual State of the City address that the high desert town was “growing a Christian community.”

“We’re growing a Christian community, and don’t let anybody shy away from that,” Parris told the audience of ministers gathered for his address.

“I need [Lancaster residents] standing up and saying we’re a Christian community, and we’re proud of that,” the mayor said.

The Greater Los Angeles area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations denounced the statement and said it plans to file a complaint about the mayor’s remarks with the civil rights division of the U.S. Justice Department.

“Elected officials should not use their public positions to impose their religious beliefs on others,”said Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Los Angeles chapter of CAIR. (yes, you read that correctly -ed.)

The mayor, reached by telephone today, said his remarks did not intend to impose his faith on others, and he said he would make no apology.

(JAKARTA)-Imagine, for a moment, a possible headline in the future: “Osama bin Laden denounces terrorism and renounces jihad.”

What are the odds? Is it even possible to wean an extremist like bin Laden off his violent ideology? The likelihood is hard to envisage.

But the Obama administration is keen to attempt something very close to that. This week, it agreed to give US$11 million (Dh40m) to Yemen to build a militant rehabilitation centre in the Arab state within the next three months for released Guantanamo Bay detainees.

The centre would treat terrorists in much the same way as drugaddicts: seeing Islamic radicalism as an anomalous behavioural pattern and treating it with a mix of psychotherapy, counselling and religious re-education, coupled with economic incentives to slowly steer them back into society.

Disney has been praised for breaking down barriers by featuring its first black princess in the film The Princess and The Frog. Oona King, who was Gordon Brown’s senior policy adviser on equalities and diversity, is not satisfied, however.

“You never see disabled people,” the former Labour MP complained to Mandrake at a screening at the Mayfair Hotel in London. “When are you going to see a Disney film with a disabled character in the lead role? Tell me that.”

Top White House adviser David Axelrod believes the U.S. government properly handled the Christmas Day bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, despite the fact that Abdulmutallab stopped talking to interrogators after having had Miranda rights read to him.

In an appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, Axelrod was asked about the decision to read Abdulmutallab his rights after just 50 minutes of interrogation. “We have not lost anything as a result of how this case has been handled,” Axelrod said.

It was an updated version of the claim that Robert Gibbs made last week, when he said that FBI interrogators had gotten “all they could get” from Abdulmutallab in their brief session.

If the White House political and spin teams believe this is true, the actions of the FBI officers themselves suggest that the claim is not true.

After a five-hour break following the first interrogation session, the FBI sent a second team to interrogate Abdulmutallab on Christmas Day — something that would have been unnecessary if the FBI had, in fact, gotten everything it could from him.

And on Friday the Washington Post reported that Justice Department officials are still trying to get more from Abdulmutallab.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate killed an amendment Thursday offered by Sen. David Vitter, R-La., that would have prohibited federal volunteer funds from going to the community group ACORN and its affiliates.

Vitter singled out the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a nationwide community organization of low- and moderate-income people. He laid emphasis on the fact that group members have been arrested for fraudulent voter registration.

Vitter contended that no charitable group with a political arm should receive the volunteer funding. “At the heart of this debate is whether this new federal bureaucracy would, in effect, politicize charitable activity around the country, which we certainly do not want,” Vitter said.

The amendment was offered to the National Service Act being considered by the chamber.

The bill is aimed at providing $5.7 billion to aid 250,000 volunteers across the country in the arenas of health care, energy, environment and education.

Three weeks, three major scandals. Is it just me or is this HUGE news? I’ve seen barely any media attention on this here in America, this is literally the death nail in the “global warming” coffin….

(Times Online)-A STARTLING report by the United Nations climate watchdog that global warming might wipe out 40% of the Amazon rainforest was based on an unsubstantiated claim by green campaigners who had little scientific expertise.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said in its 2007 benchmark report that even a slight change in rainfall could see swathes of the rainforest rapidly replaced by savanna grassland.

The source for its claim was a report from WWF, an environmental pressure group, which was authored by two green activists. They had based their “research” on a study published in Nature, the science journal,which did not assess rainfall but in fact looked at the impact on the forest of human activity such as logging and burning. This weekend WWF said it was launching an internal inquiry into the study.

This is the third time in as many weeks that serious doubts have been raised over the IPCC’s conclusions on climate change. Two weeks ago, after reports in The Sunday Times, it was forced to retract a warning that climate change was likely to melt the Himalayan glaciers by 2035. That warning was also based on claims in a WWF report.

The IPCC has been put on the defensive as well over its claims that climate change may be increasing the severity and frequency of natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods.

(BBC News) – Counter-terrorism police say their discovery of a film of children being encouraged to hold guns is evidence of attempts to radicalise youngsters.

The Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) in North West England revealed they found the film during a raid in Manchester.

Officers say it shows two children, aged about three and six, playing with a pistol and a Kalashnikov rifle.

Material seized separately included the advice: “No child is ever too young to be started off on Jihad training.”

The footage, which police believe was filmed in Pakistan, was uncovered on the hard drive of a computer during a raid carried out under the Terrorism Act 2000. Police have not revealed when the material was seized.

‘I want to kill’

Police believe the firearms are real.

The video shows a girl and young boy playing with guns and a man’s voice says: “What do you do with the weapon?”

He answers his own question: “I want to kill the infidels [non-believers].”

WASHINGTON – A top White House adviser says it’s gotten to the point where almost any unusual reaction or outburst to a speech by President Barack Obama in the House chamber isn’t really that unusual.

Obama aide David Axelrod was talking about Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s reaction to Obama’s State of the Union address last week.

The
justice made a dismissive face, shook his head repeatedly and appeared
to mouth the words “not true” or possibly “simply not true” when Obama
criticized the high court over a campaign finance ruling.

Axelrod
says that “in this weird political season, we have become accustomed to
unusual outbursts” in the House during presidential speeches.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said today that
skeptical Republicans and Democrats should throw their support behind
climate change legislation not only because it’s good for the economy
and the environment, but because Congress desperately needs a win under
its belt.

“We tried immigration. It’s hard. And we failed. We tried Social
Security. It’s hard. And we failed. We tried health care. It’s really
hard. And it looks like we’re going to have to start over again,”
Graham somberly told a luncheon audience of energy and climate
advocates on the Hill. “On the energy, climate change front, I don’t
want to add that to the list. There is no reason in my mind that the
Republican Party and the Democratic Party can’t come together.”

(Fox News)- The U.S. has canceled a $25 million federal contract for work in Afghanistan awarded to a company owned by a Democratic campaign contributor who did not face competitive bids.

The cancellation comes after Fox News first reported on the details of the contract last week, prompting lawmakers to make inquiries into the deal.

State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley said that USAID terminated the award and is now working on an appropriate resolution.

“If you want to say this violates the basis on which this administration came into office and campaigned, fair enough,” Crowley told Fox News.

(Daily Mail)- Two Cabinet Ministers are facing questions over their judgment after appearing at the same event as a Muslim activist who once suggested that the killing of British troops in Iraq was justified.

Azad Ali spoke at yesterday’s Progressive London conference, which was also attended by Equalities Minister Harriet Harman and Energy Secretary Ed Miliband.

Mr Ali, a Treasury civil servant, was suspended from his job last year after The Mail on Sunday revealed a series of controversial comments on his personal website, including one in which he praised Abdullah Azzam, Osama Bin Laden’s mentor.

He described the late Azzam as one of the ‘few Muslims who promote the understanding of the term Jihad in its comprehensive glory’.

He then quoted Azzam’s son as saying: ‘If I saw an American or British man wearing a soldier’s uniform inside Iraq I would kill him because that is my obligation. If I saw the same soldier in Jordan I wouldn’t touch him. In Iraq he is a fighter and an occupier – here he is not. I respect this as the main instruction in my religion for Jihad.’
