NBA’s Phoenix Suns Wearing “Los Suns” Jerseys During Playoff Game to Protest Arizona Immigration Law…

Go Spurs…
Trackback | RSS 2.0 | Weasel ZippersPHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns will wear “Los Suns” on their jerseys in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals on Wednesday night, owner Robert Sarver said, “to honor our Latino community and the diversity of our league, the state of Arizona, and our nation.”
The decision to wear the jerseys on the Cinco de Mayo holiday stems from a law passed by the Arizona Legislature and signed by Gov. Jan Brewer that has drawn widespread criticism from Latino organizations and civil rights groups that say it could lead to racial profiling of Hispanics. President Barack Obama has called the law “misguided.”
The NBA Players Association released a statement criticizing Arizona’s immigration law and praising the Suns for the gesture.

Shouldnt it be “Los Sols”? Also its really brave to announce it AFTER the tickets went on sale.
I wonder how many will just leave shredded tickets at the gate or wear Spur colors
A bunch of overpaid, immature, whiney, pampered, spoiled brats.
It’s all about the fear of losing money.
Basketball sucks anyway.
Maybe they should move to Mexico and see how that works out for them.
I don’t think this is the true reason. Last year the Spurs wore Los Spurs jerseys in some Latino salute thing. I think the Suns were doing this anyway and are just using it to try to look cool. That would also be pretty quick to have ordered and made special jerseys. They had them already.

Don’t root for the Spurs. They’re no better. Greg Pocks-and-zits (aka Greg Popovich), the coach of the Spurs, thought the decision by the Suns was a fantastic idea and tried to get “Los Spurs” printed. The only reason they’re not wearing them is because the league couldn’t get them made in time.

Idiots. There heads are spun out from all the weed use but that is not a good excuse here.
yeah
that’ll fix it.
Excuse me for pointing out the obvious, but this is STILL the United States of America, where the official language is STILL English.
So, I have suggestions for “Los Sols”:
#1: go fuck yourself with a chili powder enema
#2: after finishing #1, move the team to Ciudad Juarez
#3: Watch and enjoy as your team goes bankrupt when terrorist drug warlords dump bags full of severed heads on your basketball court during a game
Enjoy the solidarity with your new brown amigos and feel the pride of supporting unchecked violation of the laws of our nation. Oh wait. . .this is the NBA after all. . .no stretch for them.
This email I received today is worth reading, couldn’t have said it better myself.

Las Cuchacas must be taken.
Sorry to burst your bubbles, but the Suns and Spurs have been wearing “Los” jerseys for years, usually in conjunction with Fiesta (in San Antonio) and Cinco de Mayo, with the jerseys auctioned off to benefit local charities. The above-linked article, if you bothered to read it, even mentions that they already wore the jerseys twice during the regular season, to absolutely no controversy. They’re just a tip of the hat to the thousands of AMERICANS of Latino descent who make up their fan base.
Also, if you think either team needs a gimmick to sell tickets to a second round playoff game between intense conference rivals you don’t follow much basketball. Which is your prerogative, but I know I personally wouldn’t make it a practice of spouting off on something I knew nothing about.
they get praise for wearing a shirt and the people who put their fanny on the line passing this bill get called nazis.
The ought to wear one that say “Los Perros”.
