California: Teacher Orders Student to Stop Drawing American Flag Because It’s “Offensive”…

We have disabled pinging on this post. | Weasel ZippersThe battle over the American flag has reached a middle school art class in California’s Santa Rita School District where a student was told not to draw Old Glory because it was “offensive,” while another student was praised for drawing a picture of President Obama.
Tracy Hathaway, of Salinas, CA, told FOX News Radio her 13-year-old daughter was ordered to stop drawing the American flag and start another project at Gavilan View Middle School.
“She had drawn the flag and was sketching the letters, ‘God bless America,’ when the teacher confronted her,” Hathaway told FOX. “She said, ‘You can’t draw that – that’s offensive.’”
Even more striking, another student in the same art class drew a picture of President Obama and was praised by the teacher.
“The picture of Barack Obama was in red, white and blue hues,” Hathaway said. “ The teacher said it was great. But when it comes to the flag – all of a sudden it was offensive?”
Hathaway said she took her concerns to the principal – and he was “floored” and apologized for what happened. He arranged a meeting with the Hathaways and the teacher.
“My husband point-blank asked her what she found offensive about the picture – the American flag or the words, ‘God Bless America,’” she said. “The teacher didn’t say a word.”
Hathaway said she was especially concerned that a picture of President Obama was praised yet a picture of the American flag was deemed offensive.
Anyone out there still thinking that California isn’t lost should reconsider their opinion. La Reconquista has been underway for the better part of 40 years. The only question unresolved is this: what happens when la reconquista meets the jihad? (Hint: don’t bet on the hispanics).
This stuff has to be called out each and every time, while we still can.

Off topic. Here’s a comment that came across in a rant from a Chicago lib who was incensed at me regarding my position that the government has no business redistributing wealth. He wrote: “Pay your taxes and stop whining about it.” In other words, since I work and pay taxes, I shouldn’t have a say in how the government spends the money it confiscates from me.
End result – a Principle will get fired and that lefty teacher will get promoted.
As far as the ‘reconquista’ goes, I’m willing to Cede all of SoCal back to Mexico – San Francisco bay south. Just walk away, and from all the problems, too.
Problem is, the problems won’t stay there – after all, if the illegals WANTED to live in Mexico, they WOULD…
So the flag of the United States is offensive in California? Then liberals whine and complain when we question their patriotism. And these people are TEACHERS, in a position to influence countless young people. No wonder the Nation is going down the tubes.

Reason #4,000 as to why, if you can, you need to homeschool. BUT stay very involved in saving our public school system. This to me is why the NEA must go and public school need to be privatized. Seriously! Imagine how much money this nation would save, and how much smarter our nation would be if the public school system was privatized.
I wonder if we get bailed out, (so not even), by other countries like the IMF, I wonder if they will demand like they did of Greece that we privatized our health care system and public school system because they are sucking us dry? LOL!

The teacher should be made to write an essay of no less than 2000 words to explain her position in full.
The flippant answer, or non answer, from a government worker is unacceptable. We, The People, are the employers. She must have forgotten that. The government has, indeed forgotten that.
All states should look to Arizona as a leader in re asserting their right and proper power OVER the federal government. The FED is the EMPLOYEE of the STATES. The state employs the FED to provide protection to the people within a state from enemies foreign and domestic. The government has become the employer. Thus, a TYRANNY is in our wake.

In Canada we do not fly our flag as often, or as proudly, as do our cousins to the south. I’ve always envied American patriotism, wishing we had a little more of it up here.
To read of this travesty, of a teacher finding the flag of your nation “offensive”, advising a patriotic student that she “can’t draw that”, is so upsetting. We must fight back against this insanity!

The school systems have been taken over by the same dope-smoking hippies that were protesting this country and the VN conflict 40 years ago. The spoiled brats of the 50’s and 60’s are now the Barack Obamas, the teachers, judges and legislators of today. This isn’t just true of the America haters in CA, its everywhere, in every state.
If the NEA were to be subject to competion by teachers in the private school systems or homeschool parents, their union would disappear overnight. It is our tax dollars that feed the parasites in the NEA. Take away the tax dollars and the host will die.
What schools need is not more money, but teachers who can actually teach; who honor this country, our flag and our constitution. That will only happen when we train the trainers first, instead of graduating people based on quotas.
Then these teachers should be tested, to make sure that they can actually teach and not be someone who does everything by reading a teachers manual. We need teachers who can think outside the box and who can teach children to do the same.
