Muslims Rally to Urge NYC Public Schools to Recognize Religious Holidays…

Creeping Sharia…

NEW YORK (SI Live) — Missing two days of school each year didn’t really hurt St. George resident Khaleda Aketer’s academic career.

But that’s not the reason the recent graduate of Curtis High School was standing on the steps of City Hall today to press the city schools to recognize her religion’s two holiest days.

“It’s just a matter of fairness. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the city, why shouldn’t we have the same rights as other religions?” said Ms. Aketer, who wears a traditional hijab, or headscarf.

The rally marked the one-year anniversary of a City Council resolution that asked the Department of Education (DOE) to include two Muslim holidays, known as the Eids, in the official school holiday calendar.

But Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has the final say in which holidays are approved, said “no”- and he hasn’t changed his mind.

Obama: Hey, 9.6% Unemployment Rate Isn’t That Bad, It Could be 12 or 13 or 15%…

Does he have any idea how much of an asshole he sounds like?…

President Obama told a Wisconsin town hall today that the unemployment rate is lower than it would be if the Recovery Act (the stimulus) had not passed.

Obama told the audience “unemployment’s at 9.6%.” That is above the 8% the administration predicted with the stimulus implemented.

“Yes, but it’s not 12 or 13 or 15,” Obama said defending his policy.

The economy “recovered more than people expected last year,” he added.

“Things aren’t as bad as they could have been, this could have been a catastrophe, in that sense it [the stimulus] worked,” Obama claimed.

Kagan Attempted to Influence a Second Group on Partial-Birth Abortions, AMA Pressured to Change its Policy…

At this point “she” will be confirmed, why the GOP hasn’t put up a fight I have no idea…

Washington, DC – The pressure on Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan has jumped this week thanks to a memo she wrote during the Clinton administration showing her pressuring a medical group to change its position on partial-birth abortion. Now, new files indicated Kagan also pressured a second group.

Kagan urged Clinton to oppose any meaningful restrictions on partial-birth abortion and went as far as manipulating the option of one medical group, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, which said such abortions are never medically necessary.

Senators asked Kagan about that memo today during Judiciary Committee hearings and she explained her actions away by saying she wanted to help ACOG form a more accurate opinion.

Now, according to a report Americans United for Life furnished to LifeNews.com, Kagan’s lobbying for changes to medical associations’ positions while in the White House is further evidenced by an email found in her White House documents.

The email has Kagan clearly trying to change the position of another medical group, the American Medical Association.

Kagan discussed with other Clinton administration officials whether the AMA could reverse its policy saying there is not an identified situation in which partial-birth abortion is the only appropriate method of abortion. The AMA also noted ethical concerns with partial-birth abortions and said that it should not be used unless it is absolutely necessary.

“We agreed to do a bit of thinking about whether we (in truth, HHS) could contribute to that effort [convincing the AMA to reverse their policy],” Kagan wrote in the email. “Chuck and I are meeting with the AG on Tuesday; Donna offered to send over some doctors this week (though we don’t know who or when) to give a medical briefing.”

Responding to Kagan’s comments in the email, AUL said: “In other words, Kagan was so opposed to the passage of a ban on partial-birth abortion, she hoped that ACOG and the AMA would suppress or modify their views and aggressively worked to make that happen.”

Obama’s Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Rails Against Intolerance and Discrimination Against Jews Muslims…

Only in the Obama regime do you find a Jewish woman railing against Islamophobia…

Combating Intolerance and Discrimination Against Muslims

Hannah Rosenthal
Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism
Session 1: OSCE High-Level Conference on Tolerance and non-Discrimination

June 29, 2010

Mr. Moderator,

As the United States government’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, I would like to thank the OSCE and the government of Kazakhstan for hosting this conference and bringing attention to these important issues.

We welcome the opportunity to speak here today, as the problem of intolerance and discrimination against Muslims is an issue across the OSCE region. The United States strongly supports combating all forms of discrimination and intolerance against Muslims and is taking efforts to build mutual respect between people of all faiths. The U.S. government works continuously to ensure that person of all faiths, including Muslims, can freely enjoy the fundamental freedom of religion (like Jews and Christians living in Islamic nations? -ed.). We raise these concerns with our Allies, partners, and others – both within the OSCE and without. The U.S. Government’s Annual Report on International Religious Freedom addresses these concerns in detail within the OSCE region and around the world.

In the OSCE region, for example, the free practice of Islam is severely constrained in different ways – from overt prejudices to non-support for structures that allow religious observance. In some participating States, Muslim communities have great difficulty operating mosques not controlled or sanctioned by the state, sometimes resulting in problematic penalties for this activity. In some states, in fact, one can’t even build a mosque. In some states, registration systems often disproportionately burden small Muslim religious communities, and some countries’ legal systems ban personal religious expression—restrictions which inevitably limit freedoms we all hold dear.

Rest of speech here…

Biden’s WWII Analogy: Dems are Like the Allies and the GOP are the Nazis…

Comparing Republicans and conservatives in general to Nazis has become a staple of the left. It’s absurd, nauseating and utterly offensive all at the same time…

(NYDN)- Vice President Biden is out with an alarmed e-mail cash appeal warning that the GOP will mount a “blitzkrieg” against Democrats in the fall.

Comparing GOP tactics to the fast-striking forces of Nazi Germany, Biden warns in a message sent by the DCCC today: “As things heat up, you can expect House Democrats will be hit with a GOP blitzkrieg of vicious Swift-Boat-style attack ads, Karl Rove-inspired knockout tactics, thinly veiled attempts at character assassination and tea party disruptions.”

And while the GOP is mounting a blitzkrieg, Democrats are the allies.

“Our Democratic allies in the House need your help, and the President and I hope we can count on you to come to their defense so we can hold onto our Democratic Majority and continue moving American forward in a new direction,” Biden writes in the appeal.

Subtle? Not so much.

Update: Republicans were not amused by the implications of the e-mail.

Kevin Smith, spokesman for Minority Leader John Boehner, e-mailed a comment that seems sure to get under Democrats’ skins: “When will Democrats learn that invoking the Nazis’ crimes against humanity in a political debate is simply inappropriate?”

Despite Years of Pledges, Saudi Textbooks Still Teaching Students Jews and Christians Should be Killed, Armed Jihad is a “Sacred Duty”…

I know, the shock factor on this post is zero…

(National Review)- Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah will be received by President Obama in Washington today, nearly two years after the deadline by which the kingdom’s educational curriculum was to have been completely reformed. As the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom wrote to the president last week, “This promise remains unfulfilled.”

According to Arab News, the U.S. ambassador to Riyadh, James Smith, described this White House visit as a “very important” meeting, directed toward coordinating efforts to confront terrorism. The test of its seriousness will be whether President Obama uses the occasion to personally press King Abdullah to finally keep his pledge of textbook reform.

Saudi textbooks teach, along with many other noxious lessons, that Jews and Christians are “enemies,” and they dogmatically instruct that various groups of “unbelievers” — apostates (which includes Muslim moderates who reject Saudi Wahhabi doctrine), polytheists (which includes Shiites), and Jews — should be killed.

Under the Saudi Education Ministry’s method of rote learning, these teachings amount to indoctrination, starting in first grade and continuing through high school, where militant jihad on behalf of “truth” is taught as a sacred duty. These textbooks are used not only in Saudi Arabia but in Saudi-funded schools around the world.

Four years ago, after years of maintaining (including by taking out ads in American political magazines and on the sides of Washington Metro buses) that their textbooks had been cleaned up, when they demonstrably had not, the Saudis gave a solemn and specific promise to the United States. Its terms were described in a letter from the U.S. assistant secretary of state for legislative affairs to Sen. Jon Kyl, then chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security: “In July of 2006, the Saudi Government confirmed to us its policy to undertake a program of textbook reform to eliminate all passages that disparage or promote hatred toward any religion or religious groups.” Furthermore, the State Department letter reported that the pledge would be fulfilled “in time for the start of the 2008 school year.”

In its 2010 annual report on human rights, the State Department itself concluded, with diplomatic understatement, that Saudi Ministry of Education textbooks continued to contain “some overtly intolerant statements” against various religious groups, that they “provided justification for violence against non-Muslims,” and that reforms remained “incomplete.”

Portland police will investigate accusations that Al Gore groped woman

Neither the “crazed sex poodle” nor “Mr. Stone” were available for comment.

The Oregonian — Portland police announced today that it will re-open and investigate a Portland massage therapist’s allegations that former Vice President Al Gore sexually assaulted her at a downtown hotel in October 2006.

The announcement comes as the therapist went public for the first time, telling the National Enquirer that she demanded a full police investigation of her complaint.

Report: North Korean World Cup Team Sent to Coal Mines as Punishment for Losing…

Life in Socialist utopia suddenly not so utopic…

MORE than one disgraced national team has been heckled by angry fans on returning home – but North Korea’s misfiring stars reportedly face a much harsher punishment.

Unfortunately, crazed dictator Kim Jong-il chose the 7-0 mauling at the hands of Portugal to be the first football game ever broadcast in the impoverished communist nation.

“The Portuguese won the game and now have four points,” the Korean Central Broadcasting commentator said at the conclusion of the match. “We are ending our live broadcast now.” It then cut to factory workers and engineers praising the Dear Leader.

Seems the result may not have tallied too well with Kim Jong-il’s narrative that North Korea is a socialist paradise populated by athletic supermen.

Moon Ki-Nam, a former North Korean coach who fled the country in 2004, told reporters: “The players and coach are rewarded with huge houses when they win. But they have to atone for losing by being sent to work in the coal mines.”

The players kept a low profile after the game. Coach Kim-Jong Hun somewhat optimistically told the media: “We failed to reach our goal. I want to apologize for this to our people. I do not think that we will be punished.”

Some members of the 1966 North Korean World Cup squad were reputedly sent to labour camps after throwing away a 3-0 lead against Portugal in the quarter-finals.

It’s Come to This: Dem Sen. Amy Klobuchar Asks Kagan What Her ‘Twilight’ Preference is: Edward or Jacob?…

Actually, I believe she would prefer their competing love interest, Bella…

(WaPo)- Early on in the third day of Elena Kagan’s confirmation hearings, she ducked a particularly relevant question from Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), tied to the week’s news.

“I keep wanting to ask you about the famous camp of Edward vs. Jacob or the vampire vs. the werewolf,” Klobuchar said. “I wish you wouldn’t,” Kagan responded.

NPR’s “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me” this past weekend suggested that Kagan is on Team Jacob. But of course, Jews have a long and occasionally ugly history with vampires.

Robert Gibbs Mocks GOP Sen. Jon Kyl in Answer About Border Conversation with Obama – Video

Here is video of White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs giving an answer that mocks and insults Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl about his assertion that President Obama told him in a one-on-one meeting that he would not secure the border because “you guys” (Republicans) won’t support Comprehensive Immigration Reform if we do.

Gibbs has said Obama never made the statement, while Kyl has steadfastly stood by his account. Gibbbs tried to make out like Kyl had retreated from his assertion, and mocked Kyl for having three opinions on the matter. Actually, Kyl only said he meant that “the Left” is trying to hold border security “hostage” to CIR, not the President specifically. But Kyl has never retreated on Obama’s statement that he won’t secure the border because “you guys” won’t support CIR.

Actually, what Gibbs was doing here, was dodging the question.

Saudi King Abdullah Says “Two Countries in the World That Do Not Deserve to Exist: Iran and Israel”…

Wahhabi Islamofascists don’t have a right to exist…

(Foreign Policy) — Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah probably refrained from expressing at least half this sentiment in his meeting today with President Obama: On June 5, he reportedly told French Defense Minister Hervé Morin that “There are two countries in the world that do not deserve to exist: Iran and Israel.”

The scoop comes from Georges Malbrunot, a French journalist with Le Figaro. Malbrunot, a respected Middle East correspondent who spent four months as a hostage of the Islamic Army in Iraq, goes on to report that two sources, from diplomatic and military circles, have confirmed the story.

He suggests that the anger directed as Israel was the result of the IDF raid on the Gaza-bound flotilla, which occurred just days before this outburst.

Obama Plots With Congressional Hispanic Caucus to Push Amnesty for Illegal Aliens…

Traitor-In-Chief trying to figure  out the best way to stab America in the back…

(The Houston Chronicle) — President Barack Obama huddled Tuesday with Latino lawmakers at the White House on efforts to overcome hurdles and jump start the legislative process for a comprehensive immigration reform bill this year.

Obama met with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in advance of a speech that will urge Congress to pass an immigration bill, while the Justice Department reviews the constitutionality of a controversial Arizona law.

“Let’s get the legislative process in motion – that was the whole emphasis of the discussion today,” said Rep. Charlie Gonzalez, D-San Antonio, following the White House meeting.

“Everyone is dedicated to doing something this year,” said Gonzalez, who serves as the first vice chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

Obama has pointed to the Arizona law, which he said promotes racial profiling, as the example of the need for congressional action.

Dems Block House Republicans From Using Their Budgets to Visit Gulf Oil Spill…

Pathetic…

(Politico)- Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) wanted to fly 10 lawmakers down to the Gulf of Mexico to see the damage caused by BP’s gigantic oil spill first hand.

House Democrats said no.

Republicans want to be able to take trips using their office spending allowance. But Democrats have heard from the Department of Homeland Security, which has asked that Congress organize trips through committees of jurisdiction, to avoid having to cater to a ton of individual lawmakers in a disaster zone, Democratic aides say. GOP leaders say they’ve heard nothing of this.

“Unless there is some extraordinary reason to prohibit this trip – which has yet to be communicated to us – this is an unacceptable departure from past practices,” said Rep, Dan Lungren of California, the top Republican on the administration committee. “This is an educational trip for members using their own representational budgets to see, first-hand, the devastating impact of the Gulf spill. Our travel regulations permit this type of travel in support of our official representational duties, and unfortunately, this disaster is already having environmental and economical implications for the entire country – not just those districts represented by Members sitting on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.”

Victory!! Judge Grants Asylum to Ex-Israeli Spy and Christian Convert Mosab Hassan Yousef…

I’m ecstatic! Sanity prevails!…

San Diego (AP) - The son of a Hamas founder who became a Christian and an Israeli spy will be granted U.S. asylum after he passes a routine background check, an immigration judge ruled Wednesday.

Mosab Hassan Yousef got the good news during a 15-minute deportation hearing after a U.S. Department of Homeland Security attorney said the government was dropping its objections.

The agency denied Yousef’s asylum request in February 2009, arguing that he had been involved in terrorism and was a threat to the United States.

Attorney Kerri Calcador gave no explanation for the government’s change of heart.

The immigration judge, Rico Bartolomei, ruled that Yousef will be allowed to remain in the United States after he is fingerprinted and passes a routine background check.

Yousef, who has been living in San Diego, was cheered by supporters as he left the hearing and said he would like to become a U.S. citizen.

Supporters called him a hero, not a terrorist.

“For 10 years, he fought terrorism in secret, hiding what he was doing and who he was,” his attorney, Steven Seick, wrote in a court filing. “He deserves a safe place away from violence and fear.”

Kagan Evasive When Asked by Hatch if She Changed Language in Partial-Birth Abortion Findings, Refuses to Say She Wrote Memo, But Admits It’s in Her Handwriting…

Eerily reminiscent of her former boss Bill Clinton’s infamous line, “depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is”…

(Washington Examiner)- Before the Senate Judiciary Committee a short time ago, Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan appeared reluctant to admit that she wrote a 1996 Clinton White House memo aimed at altering a key medical group’s opinion of whether partial birth abortion is medically necessary. The memo, reported yesterday by National Review, has caused a stir in conservative circles because it appeared that Kagan, then a White House policy aide, put words in the medical group’s mouth in order to soften its position on the controversial procedure. But when Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch brought the subject up with Kagan, he had a hard time getting her to admit that she did, in fact, write the document in question.

“Did you write that memo?” Hatch asked.

“Senator, with respect,” Kagan began, “I don’t think that that’s what happened — ”

“Did you write that memo?”

“I’m sorry — the memo which is?”

“The memo that caused them to go back to the language of ‘medically necessary,’ which was the big issue to begin with — ”

“Yes, well, I’ve seen the document — ”

“But did you write it?”

“The document is certainly in my handwriting.”
