Pakistan Seeks Permanent Ban Against Facebook
It was the International Burn A Koran Day that did it.
A petition filed in a Pakistan court has sought a permanent bar on access to Facebook over an “anti-Islam competition”. Judicial Activism Panel chairman Muhammad Azhar Siddique sought a permanent ban on the website as it was hosting a page with a contest named “Everybody Burn Koran Day”. Siddique said in his petition Facebook is also displaying blasphemous pictures of “Khana-e-Kaaba”.

We missed the point on Burn a Koran Day. It should have been wipe out an entire race of Ass Holes day. It would have been nice to see an all out bombing on Islamic Holy sites.

Now It is time for all nations and countries to realize fact, That Muslims are under a media war after 9/11, There should be a fact finding commission of world community to fix responsibility of that incident.

I am a Muslim by faith; and I respect the sacred names of Prophets of different religions as well as the persons held Holy by different societies and creeds. I expect reciprocation from other people in the world, especially the once who are as located and claimed to be the members of civilized society.
I was shocked and astounded by the display of the material on internet site “FACE BOOK”. The material included the caricatures of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). It defiles the sacred name of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) by showing him in bad light in the caricatures. My mind does not permit me to use those words which are precipitated in the mind of the beholder. It shattered my faith in decency of human behavior. Despite this my respect for and faith in the religious leaders in the world has not been shaken. In addition to infringement of social values, national and international laws and protocols as well as the Charter of the United Nations.
That Human rights are the foundation of human dignity, freedom, justice and peace. Behind each right, there is more often than not a history of oppression. As such, they each play a role in the construction of our common humanity. But it is their togetherness that makes us all human. The 1948 Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR) laid out equal rights for all people and three fundamental principles governing human rights, rights are universal, meaning that rights apply to everyone whoever or wherever that person is; inalienable, in that they precede state authority and are based on peoples’ humanity; and indivisible in that all rights are of equal across nations for preventing the religious, racial, political and sectarian strife which plagued humanity throughout history.
International law impose, one clear cut duty upon states: as stated in Article 20(2) of the UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights: “Any advocacy, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law.” This is the DUTY that states are under in the context of restricting freedom of expression, as the peoples are taking under the umbrella of Article XIX.

This time the material is with respect to blasphemous of our Holy Place Khana Kaaba. This act in not only illegal, unconstitutional but is and offences under Chapter XV, offences realting to religion of Pakistan Penal Code. This action directly hits Article 2A read with Article 227 of the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973.
The matter of blasphemous was reported in tv channels/electronic media as well as in print media but the silence is not only illegal, unconstitutional but is infact a contempt of this court under Article 204 of the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973 and punishable under Section 3/4 of the Contempt of Court Act, 1976.
Respect to the Religion, its parameter, boundaries, restrictions, etc., etc, is globally accepted Fundamental and Human Right. Human rights are man’s natural rights created by natural law. All human rights are derived from the worth, dignity and sanctity of human beings. These rights are common to all human beings living anywhere in the world irrespective of race, caste, sex, religion, wealth, nationality and no one is foreign wherever he/she is. They transcend any national or political barrier. In Samata v. State of Andhra Pradesh (AIR 1997 SC 3297) the Indian Supreme Court held: “All human rights are derived from the dignity of the human person and his inherent worth.” The Preamble to the UN Charter (24th of October 1945) has, therefore, reaffirmed mankind’s “faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women.” The Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action on Human Rights (25th of June, 1993) has recognized and reaffirmed that “all human rights derive the dignity and worth inherent in the human person, and that the human person is the central subject of human rights and fundamental freedoms, and consequently should be the principal beneficiary and should participate actively in the realization of these rights and freedoms.” Thus irrespective of race, caste, color, creed, sex, etc., we all belong to the family of human beings and therefore, we are duty bound to respect the religious feelings of any religion and must not involve in any act which create hatred, disrespect, blasphemy and hurt the emotional or religions feelings, in any case.
Here it is necessary to point out the history as to why and how human rights and fundamental freedoms have been incorporated in the national constitutions. In the early 19th and 20th centuries the recognition of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the constitutions of the States become, in a paraphrase of Article 38 of the Statute of the Permanent Court of International Justice, a general principle of the constitutional laws of civilized states.
Article 5 of the Proclamation of Tehran (13th of May, 1968) had proclaimed that the laws of every country should grant each individual, irrespective of race, language, religion or political belief, freedom of expression, of information, of conscience and of religion, as well as the right to participate in the political, economic, cultural and social life of his country, in conformity with the primary aim of the United Nations in the sphere of human rights. The Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action (25th of June 1993) has declared: “Democracy, development and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms are interdependent and mutually reinforcing. Democracy is based on the freely expressed will of the people to determine their own political, economic social and cultural systems and their full participation is all aspects of their lives. In the freedoms at the national and international levels should be universal and conducted without conditions attached. The international community should support the strengthening and promoting of democracy, development and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in the entire world. “(See Part I Article 8 of the Declaration).
It is also necessary to point out that as on 28th of June 2006 the UN has 191 members, Montenegro in Southeast Europe in Southeast Europe being the 192nd UN member last admitted on 28th of June, 2006 (Source: Manorama yearbook 2007 pp. 452, 457. By virtue of Article 56 read with Article 56 read with Article 13(1) of the UN Charter (1945) all the 191 member States are required to take joint and separate action in co-operation with the UN for the promotion and encouragement of respect for human rights an fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion. It means that every UN member State must have a Constitution which guarantees and protects basis human rights and fundamental freedoms for its citizens and non-citizens.
In 1948, the United Nations passed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to serve as, “a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations” in the filed of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Drafted by the Commission of Human Rights (under he Chairpersonship of Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt) which was established by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in February, 1946, it was adopted and proclaimed by the UN General Assembly Resolution 217A (iii) of 10 December 1948. Following this historic act, the Assembly called upon all Member countries to publicize the text of the Declaration and “to cause it to be disseminated, displayed, read and expounded principally in schools and other educational institutions, without distinction based on political status of countries or territories.”
Justinian, the Roman Empire (528-565 AD), when he embraced Christ Religion has suspended the law of Jewish and enforced death sentence on blasphemy of Holy Christ.
In Russia after the Communist Revolution, de-founding father of Communism had also enforced sever punishment on blasphemy.
In England till 18th Century the punishment for blasphemy of Holy Christ was death sentence. The decisions in Denis Lemon and Wangru Case, upheld by the House of Lord, whereby blasphemy of Holy Christ was declared a cognizable offence. In this specific case Lord Scarman had held that all Holy personalities in any religions should be respected and laws should be amended to this effect so that no one should attribute offensive and blasphemy actions.
Where in the implementation of “Defamation of combating religions”.
Please stop hurting religious feelings of all religions including Islam, which is a religion of peace, humanity and dignity.
