Rangel: Ethics Panel Violating My Constitutional Rights…

He’s had four decades to prepare for this day…
Rep. Charlie Rangel argues a House ethics panel violated his Constitutional due process rights in a 32-page submission to the committee.
Rangel said the investigative subcommittee that brought charges against him did not give him enough time to provide a defense, violating the Fifth Amendment’s due process clause.
The veteran lawmaker said he was prevented from answering the committee’s charges in a point-by-point repudiation of the allegations brought against him.
“For forty years, Congressman Rangel has faithfully served the people of New York’s Fifteenth District,” Rangel said in the statement.

And you’ve been violating the Constitution. What is it about these damn DemocRATS that they think the law does not apply to them? Put his ass in prison.
Don’t believe any of it. Nothing is going to happen to this slumdog. In the third act, Rangel comes up smelling like a DemocRAT. Meanwhile we’ve taken our eye off BigBoo.
Isn’t this an administrative hearing? If so, as I recall, 5th is not applicable.
The kids hate it when I tell them “I smell a cow” after they give me a BS story. Hey Rangel…I smell a cow…a whole damn barnyard full of them!
NOW he’s concerned about the Constitution … LMFAO!
Classic. The Constitution card. Seeeeeeeeeriously? Are you seeeerious?
Huh. Weren’t these charges 2 years in coming? And didn’t he commit these acts over the course of many years, serving as chairman of a committee that oversaw the development of laws, etc., regarding the very acts he committed? He’ll be playing the race card soon since the rest of this isn’t working.
Screw the ethics charges. When are we going to see CRIMINAL charges filed for tax evasion, fraud, etc.? This crook deserves prison time.
Has he paid the taxes on that $600,000 yet or any of the other tax issues?
If not why isn’t the IRS on him like white on rice.
Rangel got off with a reprimand. They aren’t even giving the details on that. Boy, I’ll bet that letter telling him not to ever do these things again is really gonna scare him, don’t ya think? What a joke! We are flat out done. At least in the old West, you could hang a horse thief.
Hey Charlie – take it to trial man! Don’t go down without a fight! Air it all in public around, oh I don’t know, late October maybe. Pass the popcorn.
Regardless of guilt, this man has proven himself moral less . Thirteen ethics charges, years of investigation , years of manipulating laws the constitution and the people, should be reason enough get this man and like minded politicians out of Washington
