Obama Regime Compares Challenging Obamacare to Those Who Challenged Civil Rights Legislation…

Apparently they forgot it was their own party that challenged civil rights legislation…

Eric Holder and Kathleen Sebelius via WaPo op-ed:

…Then President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act. Thanks to this law, O’Brien is getting treatment through a temporary program that provides affordable coverage to people who’ve been shut out of the insurance market because of a preexisting condition. Even better, she knows that in 2014 insurers will be banned from discriminating against her or any American with preexisting conditions.

That’s what makes the recent lawsuits challenging the Affordable Care Act so troubling. Roughly 20 cases question the new law’s individual responsibility provision, which says that Americans who can afford to must maintain basic health coverage.

Federal courts in Michigan and Virginia have upheld the law as constitutional, but Monday, a federal court in Virginia reached the opposite result. These and other cases will continue through our courts as opponents try to block the law. But these attacks are wrong on the law, and if allowed to succeed, they would have devastating consequences for everyone with health insurance.

As these lawsuits continue, Americans should be clear about what the opponents of reform are asking the courts to do. Striking down the individual responsibility provision means slamming the door on millions of Americans like Gail O’Brien, who’ve been locked out of our health insurance markets, and shifting more costs onto families who’ve acted responsibly.

It’s not surprising that opponents, having lost in Congress, have taken to the courts. We saw similar challenges to laws that created Social Security and established new civil rights protections. Those challenges ultimately failed, and so will this one.

HUH, HURTS WHEN THE RIGHT USES YOUR OWN TACTICS AGAINST YOU, DOESN’T IT?

If the government bases your identity on how much ‘stuff’ you have (poor, middle-class, rich), and government has the right to regulate ‘stuff’, does the government have the right to regulate your identity?

    This is historical materialism (Marxism)!

Congrats to Mark Levine and his legal team for helping get the mandate part of ObamaDeathCare ruled unconstitutional by a competent judge – not an activist like Kagan.

Let’s see what Obama and Cass Sunstein (THE MOST DANGEROUS MAN IN AMERICA – THE ONE WHO IS WRITING RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT WILL FORCE US TO LIVE A CERTAIN WAY) and the rest of the progressive scum have up their sleeves this go around.

God bless the 5 justices on the SCOTUS who may side with WE THE PEOPLE.

Pray they stay healthy because if Obama gets one more pick for the court we are doomed as a Constitutional Republic.

What’s another way of saying “the lowest of the low”?

I don’t know. What I do know is that Democrats and Obama will stoop to any level and do anything to get what they want.

I compare it to the Cold War Patriots who fought Communism.

What a difference a day makes!

It is right to fight this Obamacare on every level.

We must question or resist this administration on everything. Not for its stupidity or imcompetence only, but for the fact that it’s in our lives.

Just got back from a statewide gathering of VA conservatives who were talking about the upcoming legislative agenda. The speaker said that the last time the legislature started to debate tax dollars being diverted for school choice, three black female delegates likened it to segregation. The race card: an all-purpose excuse.

It was the Republicans who fought for the civil rights. The Dems were still entrenched in the KKK mentality. Can you say Robert Bryd anyone.

Just wanted to affirm ThomNJ’s point about how the Democrats progressives regressive fascists almost continually engage in projection. When one is the god of his own world view, it’s difficult to be reasoned when reaching a ‘conclusion’. Also wanted to see if this comment format will accept some html tags

Not hardly. “Opponents, having lost in Congress, have taken to the courts,” and if we lose there….we now own the House and will defund/starve the Obamacare beast to death.

I get a big kick out of the fact that the judge in the Virginia case said “Unconstitutional” because the requirement to buy insurance was cast as a *fee* rather than as a tax. Had it been described as a tax, the law couldn’t have been attacked on those grounds. But Obama had already declared in front of the cameras that no person making under $250K per year would pay a single dime of higher taxes, so he and his staff had to force the bill to cast the cost as anything *other* than a tax.

Basically they painted themselves into a corner by trying to out-fox the public.

If they’d been honest with the public before the election and said they were gonna force socialized medicine down everyone’s throat, a whole lot more voters might have had second thoughts about voting for him.
