Please, Tea Party Congress, let PBS/NPR be the first on your list for funding to be pulled. I don’t imagine they’ll go quietly, though. The Virginia gov talked about cutting local funding the other day and all hell broke loose.

When I went to school, often I took my own lunches, does that even happen anymore?
Then there were schools with cafeterias, with real kitchens where they cooked, and if a Moose got ran over it had a good chance of showing up at the school…
But then later in Washington, catering type tv dinners came on, no kitchen anymore at all… I have no idea what they have now.
@Mark – I think the change in school lunches came with the huge increase in government funded meals for low income students. Before that it was a couple of little old “lunch ladies” who came up with their own menus based on what food was in season. Funny how things have changed. When I first became a foster parent, the children I cared for were delighted to have their own lunch box because they’d never had one. They loved carrying lunch to school. Ten years later I had a foster child who didn’t want to bring her lunch to school because it made her stand out – almost everyone in her class got free lunch and she didn’t want to be different. Times they sure have changed.
I wouldn’t expect anything better from this administation. It is propaganda pure and simple. Mao would be proud.

Defund PBS, NPR and The First Fat Ass’s program for No Hungry Fat Kid Left Behind. So which is it? Too much food or not enough food? On the one hand they’re all fat and the other, they are starving and need food stamps…or maybe not. I understand they funded her vanity program by cutting food stamps.
We can’t afford the spending on this silly program. She was not elected so why is she sponsoring legislation? She certainly doesn’t exemplify what she’s preaching. She eats high caloric, junk food all the time. Can’t get enough buttered lobster, $100lb imported beef and ice cream. Total fraud.
Why is anyone surprised at this? I mean, just look at Elmo. He’s RED</I/!
