HONOLULU — President Obama’s trip to church Sunday followed a steady rebirth over the past three months in public expressions of his Christianity.
Obama has publicly mentioned his “Christian faith” more times in the past three months than he has over the past year. He has more frequently cited passages of the Bible, including repeated references to the spirit of Genesis 4:9 — “I am my brother’s keeper; I am my sister’s keeper” — which was a mainstay of Obama’s 2010 campaign stump speech. And he’s taken his family to church twice, a shift for a president who has preferred to worship privately since the end of the 2008 campaign.
The White House says nothing has changed in Obama’s public remarks. The president “has consistently talked about his Christian faith, and the role of faith in America, over the course of his public life,” deputy press secretary Bill Burton said.
Indeed, Obama has spoken about his religion at various prayer breakfasts and in a 2009 commencement address at Notre Dame. And earlier this year, he held the first Easter prayer breakfast at the White House for Christian pastors, welcoming them as “my brothers and sisters in Christ.”
But one key difference between the way Obama is now referencing his “Christian faith” and how he has in the past is in the types of events.

It’s a good thing the press is as biblically illiterate as he is. They don’t know what that passage is about either, so that can’t bust him on his use of it.
It will get him two more years and one more term. And make us weaker and get us a lot more debt.

Let’s break it down, people:
1. God asks Cain where Abel is.
2. Cain asks God if he is his brother’s keeper.
God did not answer Cain’s question, which was no real question but merely a deflection anyway. There is not one scripture in the Bible that makes you your brother’s keeper. The closest scripture comes is that you have to warn people if they are walking into a trap (under the Torah only of course, and Christians aren’t bound by the Torah). Churches also tend to come close to this, but in those contexts it only applies to fellow Christians, primarily in your own church.
There is absolutely no call in Genesis for you to be your brother’s keeper.
The devil knows how to quote scripture, too (Matthew, ch. 3).

The scripture mentioned never said anything about a sister. And it was Cain after killing Abel, that when questioned by God, said “Am I my brother’s keeper.”
And what about Obama’s brother in Kenya that is living on a dollar a day? Ahat about his aunt that is living on welfare in government housing. ( That was an illegal alien) He has a few million bucks, why doesn’t he help them?

but interestingly, I think, Young’s Literal Translation (YLT) renders a more literally consistent (if not a little wooden) in the English:
9 ¶ And Jehovah saith unto Cain, ‘Where is Abel thy brother?’ and he saith, ‘I have not known; my brother’s keeper — I?’
I.e., God is Cains’ brothers’ keeper; Whom Cain has not known, {intimately} so to speak

They’re “told” it’s evil, and many are suprised to learn it’s really about peace and love (many Moslems have converted to Christianity if, by some rare stroke of luck, they’ve actually had a chance to really LEARN about it).

There is a reference to Cain being Abel’s “keeper” in the sense that as the older brother he has a responsibility to look after his younger siblings and they are to serve or respect him. This is best shown in the Septuagint (greek old testament, circa 200 B.C.) and is also found in the KJV. The issue is often punctuation.
7… And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
This is usually found to refer to sin crouching at the door in the first half of the verse. But, if you make this a stand alone sentence, as the scholars of the 2nd century B.C. and the KJ translators did, you find this is an admonition from God to Cain to stop pouting over his offering being rejected by God and take up his God given responsibility as older brother to Abel.
This is as close to the “brother’s keeper” as the Bible gets. It ain’t for the shallow to abuse.

As Obama has shown us that he follows “another Christ” rather then the Messiah which the Judeo-Christians know of. I would suspect he even follows Benjamin Creme’s Maitreya, a Christ like world teacher who is supposedly also from Kenya. That’s right, the same Kenya that the ‘One’ is also from. This ‘Ascended Master’ is supposed to unveil himself and make known his presence to the entire world very soon.
I am very sure he thinks he is Christian in the same way most do who follow the apostate world church. Except that we know that this ‘Ascended Master’ or Maitreya will be the Anti-Christ, or World Leader that will be unveiled at the start of Daniel’s Seventieth (Final) week, known as the Great and Final Tribulation. Many, if not most of the worlds leaders follow these ‘Ascended Masters of the Wisdom’ as their ‘Spirit Guides’ and attribute their personal wealth and power to these demonic entities in ways eerily similar to those described in the Book of Enoch.

Note: Apostasia, departure, or “falling away” of the real ‘true’ Chuch. Look up the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) for that ‘sign’ and ‘season’, appointment to be fulfilled.

I think you make a strong point re: ‘sin crouching’, and about not treating this Word lightly, or like some sort of philosophical buffet to further a would be cause.
Young’s Literal Translation
Is there not, if thou dost well, acceptance? and if thou dost not well, at the opening a *sin-offering* is crouching, and unto thee its desire, and thou rulest over it.’
The same word here means both ‘sin’ and the *offering for sin* literally, sin-offering. So while the traditional understanding, sin crouching, holds true; perhaps sin-offering is also consistent.
I was discussing this with a dear friend a while back in the pre-text of seeking out the evangel of Gods’ grace throughout the whole counsel of the bible, and at a glance, a Reformed (if not Calvinistic) rendering depicts Cain hopelessly judged under the Law. And the Word does say that:
‘… no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.’ (1Jo 3:15)
..still tho, the promised Hope had been revealed in that, Eve, when she conceived of Cain, thought he was Messiah:
‘… I have gotten a man from the LORD.’(Ge 4:1) more apt: The Man from the Lord
