Even though they read Marx and Stalin, organize protests against Israel and play a board game that equates capitalism with barbarism, they shy away from calling themselves “socialist”. As one member puts it, “It’s more positive to say progressive or left.”

Limbaugh is right when he says the Left never let you know what they truly are. They always hide behind another word. Oftentimes, they try to sound Conservative so people will accept them. Then once accepted, they swing wildly Marxist.

The reason that there is such disparity in classes IS BECAUSE the socialists and progressives have had the larger voice. Here’s how I see this: in the United States, we give people a right to say and think as they please — so long as they do not stand a credible threat of inciting violence/serious crime. That being said, it’s understandable that some people will find their subjective answer to the world’s problems in the words of Karl Marx. It is as inevitable as darkness turning to day, regardless of how much I may disagree with the man.
We should not create an antipathy towards people because they think differently; it would be better to just allow them to err in their ways, and only to engage them when it is necessary — meaning when they are intending on imposing their beliefs on the rest of us. Isn’t that why the tenth amendment exists? If State X wants System 1, but only for themselves, then State Y doesn’t need to impose itself on them to prevent them from doing it.

It was concluded that the difference in the amount of ‘stuff’ that two people had, amounted to an injustice…….but no trial was held……..no jury was called……and no judge resided over the decision to award ‘damages’.

Can we please see a ‘distribution of wealth’ chart that only includes Democrats? I think you’ll find that we’re likely to discover a much larger gap between rich and poor, by measuring only Democrats, as opposed to measuring the population in general.
That’s how the rich get rich…..by talking the poor into buying their products. People like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, the majority of Goldman Sachs, George Soros, Ted Turner…… All of these “evil rich people” are Democrats for a reason; it’s profitable!

Eh maybe, neither Nancy nor Harry would have presented themselves before McCain as readily and graciously as they did for Obama in the name of Party power at the cost of their own branches powers, Their willingness crippled the legislative branch balance and ceded much power to the executive in the form of a horde of Czars and constant executive orders and strong arm tactics from his department heads. Yea McCain would have likely ceded on some legislative grounds (which the Veep would give him hell for) But no way would their be this much centralization of powers into the executive and maybe not near this much of a spending spree.

Uhh, Black Rain…the U.S. unemployment rate averaged 4.7% from 2001-2007 under President Bush. This compares with a 5.2% average rate during President Clinton’s term of office, and is well below the 10% of unemployment currently (which is realisticly more like 18%). Under Bush the middle class grew faster than any period the last 20 years. But then at 64, you are old enough to know that.

The USA sent 406,000 men to their death in WW2, 33,000 in the Korean War and 58,000 in the Vietnam War to defeat Communist / Fascism. Why do we let them live among us now?
The evil Capitalists/Republicans I know all seem to work 40 to 80 hours per week, make between $12 and $40 an hour (the latter ones with 8-12 years of college education and debt), and be very open minded towards those with different incomes and religions and ethnicities, whereas the Progressives/Democrats fall into a very bimodal group – those living off handouts, playing the welfare system and unwilling to work (though they work for cash if they want extra vacation or drug money), and those living off trust-funds, and not needing to work, or making >$50/hr, so they really don’t need to worry about meeting their ‘basic needs’. The latter group is OBSESSED with money and materialism and consumption, and extremely intolerant of anyone with different (i.e. ‘rural’) lifestyles or religious (i.e. non-Atheist) views.
I guess that’s just the difference in real-world observation vs. the land of Oz.
