ObamaCare Halts Construction at 45 Physician-Owned Hospitals

“If you like your doctor, you’ll be able to keep your doctor.”

Too bad your doctor can’t keep his hospital.

(Weekly Standard) — Under the headline, “Construction Stops at Physician Hospitals,” Politico reports today that “Physician Hospitals of America says that construction had to stop at 45 hospitals nationwide or they would not be able to bill Medicare for treatments.” Stopping construction at doctor-owned hospitals might not seem like the best way to boost the economy or to promote greater access and choice in health care, but that exactly what Obamacare is doing.

Kenneth Artz of the Heartland Institute explains, “Section 6001 of the health care law effectively bans new physician-owned hospitals (POHs) from starting up, and it keeps existing ones from expanding.” Politico adds, “Friday [New Year's Eve] marked the last day physician-owned hospitals could get Medicare certification covering their new or expanded hospitals, one of the latest provisions of the reform law to go into effect.”

Eerily similar to the limits placed on churches by Islam.

You can shield your democide behind smiling faces, good intentions, slogans with legislation, killing citizens by removing essential services under the penalty of force.

Or you can line citizens up in a ditch and machine-gun them.

    There is no difference.

    To: Any Physicians on Zip

    Subject: Building new hospitals

Solution: Build your hospitals on Indian Reservation land. There’s no Obamacare there. In most cases, such as in California, any land owned by an Indian Tribe, regardless of the location, is Indian land and not subject to the requirements, jurisduction nor the authority of this law.

And, you can work with the tribes to create a new health insurance system free from Obamacare provisions.

If I was in the health care business, I would be making contracts with every damn tribe in the country to do this. I’d also go so far as to make contracts with other countries who have diplomatic missions here to do the same thing on their sovereign land and any other loophole I could find.

    I’d make BILLIONS.

This job killing language was inserted in DeathCare as a payoff to the American Hospital Association in order for them to promise to support the bill. The AHA sold their souls to support socialized medicine in order to help eliminate competition from the very physicians that provide the care.

The libtards in the general populace don’t see this as a bad thing because physicians have successfully been demonized(thanks Mr Alinsky!) as greedy capitalists who will chop off limbs for money and from which the public needs to be protected from(by maggot trial lawyers who wrote the bill of course and who pull the strings of the democrap party).

I know this because I’m one of those demonized surgeons as well as an owner of one of these hospitals. We were able to complete construction and became operational just before the law took effect. Many were not so lucky and lost millions in addition to all the jobs lost. And because of my greedy incompetence, I now employ 50 more people in my community and provide quality surgical care to the people of that community…….no thanks to that communist piece of shit in the white house.

“But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.” — Nancy Pelosi

And now that we know some of what’s in it, the “fog of the controversy” seems to be getting thicker.

    Damn them — REPEAL OBAMACARE!!!!!

Even Dianne Feinstein is trying to get an exemption for a joint Loma Linda/Physician-owned hospital in Murrieta, CA to open. There is a severe bed shortage in that area already. Obamacare kills business and people.

There are threats from some docs to go offshore, taking office staff with them, and only take cash. I’ve heard about one guy in TX that is already in the process of shutting down his office, closing out his insurance patients and laying off staff, making house calls for patients he signs to a contractual monthly fee. No insurance, medicare, or medicaid accepted. Oh, he’ll still keep his malpractice insurance so he can continue practicing at hospitals if needed and attend seminars to keep current on licenses and education – but will be limited to making housecalls 24/7. If I had the money, I’d do it because many will take that route.

paul revere – just like we try to always remember to thank a military person for their service, in the future we should thank our medical people as well. You’re being baptized by fire, with no end in sight.

Effectively destroys the opportunity for competition to the government run hospitals by Physicians. There will be no alternative now to the Nationalised Healthcare system that will result from Obamacare left as is.

24Klady, I appreciate the sentiment, but nothing I do comes even remotely close to the service and sacrifice provided by our military…..

Everything else aside, when DeathCare is in full effect, someone will need to put a gun to my head and be ready to pull the trigger before I get out of bed at 2am on Christmas Eve in a blizzard to take an appendix out for $79.00 while being mandated to write a check out for $85,000 for malpractice insurance.

Soon I’ll be running a black market surgical clinic in my basement. The only two questions which will qualify one for treatment are 1. who did you vote for in 2008?, and 2. do you hate George W Bush more then Adolph Hitler?……….lmfao

No paul revere, 24K is right. The expense and long hours required for med school, the huge student loans and malpractice insurance…..I can’t imagine anyone wanting to be a doctor. While I do think most doctors go into medicine for the best of motives, they also deserve every bit of money they can get and more. G-d knows they contribute more to society than politicians.

paul revere – good to see your sense of humor remains intact.

If Barryo has his way you’ll be taking out that appendix for $79 and bowing to his great self in appreciation for the opportunity. Good luck to you and your fellow physicians and God help those of us that depend on you being there.

I thought I would chime in. The Doctors were greedy by trying to skim the cream leaving only the non-insured for the other hospitals/ America wake up.

So maybe this is one of the good things he has done.

  21. Drew says:

By the way I am not demonizing physicians. Physicians deserve the fees they get but let’s be fair.

So let’s see lets make money as a physician from the fees i charge the patients. And then let me profit from the hospital that I own.

    Greed, greed and more greed
