Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Shot — Thread II. . .

Starting a new thread on this to make it easier to follow latest updates.

Here’s something sickening, the AP mentions Sarah Palin four times in one article on the Giffords shooting.

Arizona Rep. Giffords Shot, At Least 5 Killed — AP

Giffords has drawn the ire of the right in the last year, especially from politicians like Sarah Palin over her support of the health care bill.

Her Tucson office was vandalized a few hours after the House voted to approve the health care law in March, with someone either kicking or shooting out a glass door and window. In an interview after the vandalism, Giffords referred to the animosity against her by conservatives. Palin listed Giffords’ seat as one of the top “targets” in the midterm elections because of the lawmakers’ support for the health care law.

“For example, we’re on Sarah Palin’s targeted list, but the thing is, that the way that she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they have to realize that there are consequences to that action,” Giffords said in an interview with MSNBC.

In the hours after the shooting, Palin issued a statement in which she expressed her “sincere condolences” to the family of Giffords and the other victims.

Update: American traitor Jane Fonda blames Giffords shooting on Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.

Update: The NY Times’ Paul Krugman blames it on the right.

(NYT) — A Democratic Congresswoman has been shot in the head; another dozen were also shot.

We don’t have proof yet that this was political, but the odds are that it was. She’s been the target of violence before. And for those wondering why a Blue Dog Democrat, the kind Republicans might be able to work with, might be a target, the answer is that she’s a Democrat who survived what was otherwise a GOP sweep in Arizona, precisely because the Republicans nominated a Tea Party activist. (Her father says that “the whole Tea Party” was her enemy.) And yes, she was on Sarah Palin’s infamous “crosshairs” list.

Just yesterday, Ezra Klein remarked that opposition to health reform wasgetting scary. Actually, it’s been scary for quite a while, in a way that already reminded many of us of the climate that preceded the Oklahoma City bombing.

You know that Republicans will yell about the evils of partisanship whenever anyone tries to make a connection between the rhetoric of Beck, Limbaugh, etc. and the violence I fear we’re going to see in the months and years ahead. But violent acts are what happen when you create a climate of hate. And it’s long past time for the GOP’s leaders to take a stand against the hate-mongers.

Update: I see that Sarah Palin has called the shooting “tragic”. OK, a bit of history: right-wingers went wild over anyone who called 9/11 a tragedy, insisting that it wasn’t a tragedy, it was an atrocity.

Update: Sheriff’s Dept surrounds home of alleged suspect:

(KVOA.com) — Pima County Sheriff’s deputies have surrounded what is believed to be the home of the suspect in this morning’s tragic shooting that has claimed the lives of 6 people, including a federal judge and a young girl, and left Gabrielle Giffords and at least a dozen others injured.

AP News sources reported earlier today that Jared Loughner, 22, was the suspected shooter. News 4 located his home, and found a number of law enforcement officials outside.

Neighbors in the area say that they have seen the believed suspect, 22-year-old Jared Loughner, around the neighborhood a few times, but he didn’t associate with anyone, or talk with anyone.

Update: Army says it has no enlistment record for man suspected of shooting Rep. Giffords.

Update: Check this out via the NY correspondent for Britain’s The Telegraph. Unreal…

Update: The Arizona Daily Star is reporting that the suspect was “very disturbed,” had previous minor run-ins with the law and had been rejected by the Army:

First Sgt. Brian Homme, who oversees Army recruiting in Tucson, said Loughner applied to enlist in December 2008 and was sent to Phoenix to take a test and physical. But “he was found to be unqualified so he never joined the Army,” Homme said.

He declined to say why Loughner was rejected, citing confidentiality laws.

Update: Federal Judge John Roll had attended Representative Giffords’ event after attending Mass to thank her.

(WSJ) — The federal judge who was shot dead Saturday at a political event in Tucson, Arizona, was there to thank U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords for backing his effort to get more judicial support for the swelling numbers of immigration cases in his district, according to two U.S. federal judges.

In an interview, Michael Hawkins, U.S. Circuit Court Judge of the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco, said Judge John Roll had recently asked Ms. Giffords to sign a letter to Alex Kozinsky, the chief judge of the Ninth Circuit, to help convince the court to declare his federal judicial district a judicial emergency due to the high number of immigration and border control cases that were being heard in that district.

Update: Things are getting ugly out there for Sarah Palin. The number of Giffords/Palin stories on Google news now tops 6,000 and climbing fast. (HT: dmacleo)

Update: Oh brother. Lefty site Firedoglake plays the “pity the poor shooter, he’s insane” card and then goes on to blame the right for his insanity. The thrust of their argument:

“I would caution against implying any politics to someone who appears so disturbed, as his interpretation of political symbols and phrases are interpreted in a highly idiosyncratic and irrational way. However, if he were susceptible to violence, then the targets available by the given society, i.e., the rhetoric out there in the society, would have pointed him towards liberals, leftists, Muslims, or other minorities, and that kind of rhetoric has mainly been from the right-wing, as has been copiously commented upon.”

Update: I read about a second suspect being sought earlier today but was reluctant to post because it wasn’t sourced.

(Tucson Weekly) — Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik says that law enforcement has a reason to believe another person is involved in the shootings of Judge John Roll, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others today.

“We’re not convinced that he acted alone,” he said at a news conference at Westward Look resort.

Update: US House of Representatives cancels all legislative business (including health care repeal) next week.

Update: Candlelight vigils are being held tonight at the State Capitol in Phoenix, outside Giffords’ district office in Tucson and at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Tucson

Update: Sheriff Dupnik’s holding a press conference (he’s a lefty, refused to enforce Arizona’s immigration law). Blames shooting on “vitriol coming out of certain people.” We all know who he’s talking about. More to follow.

Update: Video of this pathetic Sheriff exploiting today’s tragedy to slander the right. Scumbag. Scumbag. Scumbag.

HT: Milton/Florida Girl

Update: This just in — Ezra Klein plays armchair psychiatrist on the interwebs.

This was not an organized act of political violence, or even a rational one. Loughner’s statements were clearly insane, and though his ravings contained some political content, it is not political content that either side of the spectrum would easily recognize as their own. “I’m able to control every belief and religion by being the mind-controller” is not the comment of a sane man.

In the first hours after the shooting, however, we didn’t know that. And it was scarily easy to tell a story in which an upset citizen had taken the exhortations various political leaders had made in recent years too literally. A lot of the attention focused on Sarah Palin’s call to “Commonsense Conservatives and lovers of America: Don’t retreat, Instead — RELOAD!” That was linked to a map in which gunsights were placed on the districts of various vulnerable Democrats. One of them was Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’s. “It’s time to take a stand” was written across the top of the map.

But Palin wasn’t alone in using violent imagery and rhetoric to rouse her supporters. Sharron Angle, in a radio interview, warned that “if Congress keeps it up, people may find themselves resorting to Second Amendment remedies.” Rep. Michele Bachmann said she wanted Minnesotans “armed and dangerous” in opposition to cap-and-trade. Jesse Kelly, who ran against Giffords in 2010, held a gun-themed fundraiser. The pitch read: “Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office, shoot a fully automatic M-16 with Jesse Kelly.”

I’m not suggesting that any of these individuals really meant to advocate for any acts of violence. In fact, I’m sure all of them are sick to their stomachs tonight. And there is, for us and for them, comfort that today’s events do not seem to have been an act of calculated political intent so much as an act of mental derangement.

Update: Suspicious package found at Representative Giffords office.

(KVOA) — Police have confirmed that a suspicious package has been found outside Gabrielle Giffords’ office, and a bomb squad is being called in to investigate.

People holding a vigil outside the office have been pushed well away from the area, while the investigation determines the nature of this package, and what threat it may cause

Update: FYI — Intl United Steelworkers Union “deeply saddened and also contemptuous of today’s violent event in Tucson.”

Update: CYA — Pima Community College’s Statement on the Shooter

PCC records indicate that Jared Lee Loughner, the suspect in custody in connection to today’s terrible mass shooting, is a former PCC student who voluntarily withdrew from the College on Oct. 4, 2010. Loughner was a PCC student from Summer 2005 through Fall 2010, when he was suspended for Code of Conduct violations. The College’s Code of Conduct is availablehere.

From February to September 2010, Loughner had five contacts with PCC police for classroom and library disruptions at Northwest and West campuses. On September 29, 2010, College police discovered on YouTube a Loughner-filmed video made at Northwest Campus. In the video, he claims that the College is illegal according to the U.S. Constitution, and makes other claims.

Working with legal counsel, College administration issued a letter of immediate suspension on September 29, 2010. That evening, two police officers delivered the letter of suspension to the student at his and his parents’ residence and spoke with the student and his parents.

The suspension letter indicated that he was to contact the Northwest Campus to schedule an appointment to discuss the Code of Conduct process and suspension status. Other than for this appointment, he was prohibited from returning to the College.

Loughner and his parents met Northwest Campus administrators October 4, 2010. During this meeting Loughner indicated he would withdraw from the College. A follow-up letter was sent to him October 7, 2010 indicating that if he intends to return to the College, he must resolve his Code of Conduct violations and obtain a mental health clearance indicating, in the opinion of a mental health professional, his presence at the College does not present a danger to himself or others.

Update: No surprise here. NOW lynches Conservatives for shooting:

The president of the top pro-abortion lobby group National Organization for Women went so far as to openly blame “extreme right-wing opponents” hours after the shooting, chastising Republican leaders and calling for a Justice Department investigation “to the fullest extent of federal anti-terrorist legislation” to determine whether the shooting was “part of a conspiracy.”

“Conservatives cannot have it both ways, screaming sexist, racist and homophobic slurs at legislators as they vote for health care reform, putting legislators on a violence-inciting ‘Targets’ list, and then simply saying how sorry they are when someone explodes into murder,” declared NOW president Terry O’Neill in a statement emailed to supporters.

Update: Suspicious package at Rep. Giffords’ office “no threat to public safety”

(FNC) — A loud noise has rattled more than 100 people attending a candle light vigil outside the headquarters of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, where authorities were investigating a suspicious package Saturday.

Police department spokesman Lt. Fabian Pacheco said an officer checking Giffords’ office in Tucson had found “a real strange” device that he said resembled a coffee can and had writing on it. Pacheco would not disclose what the writing said.

A bomb squad had been working to render the device safe before the loud noise was heard. Authorities did not say if the noise was caused by contents within the package or from authorities’ efforts to destroy the device and render it safe.

Pacheco said there was no threat to public safety.

Update: Hold onto your seats for the shock of your lives. Olberdouche is blaming (wait for it) . . . Sarah Palin!. . .

Interesting that the shooter and Jane Fonda are no doubt under the same influence. He listed “Communist Manifesto” as one of his favorite books. I hardly think that one would make the tea party book club, but it seems to have inspired Hanoi Jane well enough.

You know what I blame it on the left.

They advocate abortions (murder), they advocate violence, they advocate disruption, they always threaten death to those who don’t support the same ideology they do.

I have more of a case than the left does making this out to be a right wing murder.

It is interesting to note that they already seem to be scrapping the bottom of the barrel for inflammatory remarks against tea partiers, (Jane Fonda, are they kidding?!!), probably because nobody with a properly working neuron would touch this progressive propaganda with a ten-foot pole after the last dozen attempts to smear Constitution-supporting Americans.

Hmmm, the shooter loves the Communist Manifesto and look who’s out there ASAP, Hanoi Jane:

“Big Peace: Speaking of Vietcong victory, and Tom Hayden, tell us what you report on Jane Fonda.

Kengor: Jane Fonda, who married Hayden, was a go-go girl for communism, telling student audiences: “[I]f you would understand what communism was, you would pray on your knees that we would someday be communist.” Jane jetted to Hanoi, where she became a cheerleader for the Vietcong. The pro-Vietcong glamour girl had her face splashed everywhere by an ecstatic communist press, as she grinned aside Vietcong weaponry. The Soviets and North Vietnamese were smitten.”

Even faster in the media was Mr. Marxist, AZ Rep. Raul Grijalva, Co-chair of The Progressive [Democrat] Caucus.

Oh yeah, Communist “economist” and supporter of Zerocare’s death panels, Paul Krugman, is blaming this “assassination attempt” on the GOP in NYT.

But now there is no reference to anyone shooting back…

of course the shooter is a lefty. 99% of all domestic political violence in this country is perpetrated by the left. the MSM is desperate to create the perception in lazy viewers minds that this is a rightwing nutjob, so that once the evidence that he’s a lefty is indisputable, they can just stop covering it instead of retracting their slanders, thus leaving the impression with lazy viewers that it was a rightwinger. they’ve done this many times before, they do it many more times. it’s a tactic that they use knowingly.

From a twitter feed of a young woman who played in a band with the assailant:

“A 22-year-old woman in Arizona, Caitie Parker, claimed on her Twitter feed that she went to high school and college with the gunman, and was in a band with him. She described his politics in the past as “left wing, quite liberal, & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy.” She also described him as having a lot of friends “until he got alcohol poisoning in ’06″ and dropped out of school. “Mainly loner very philosophical.”

Just don’t let the left-wingnuts put you on the defensive. That’s what they want to do, although if I were them I’m not so sure I would want Jane Fonda leading the charge.

If anything, you should point out that Rep. Giffords was in fact a Blue Dog Democrat, who supported gun rights and also supported strengthening our border security. She even signed an amicus brief on behalf of the lawsuit against the DC gun control law.

So when you get right down to it, there are plenty of reasons a leftard might want to kill her.

I’ve been reading Democratic Underground Forums – first time, I swear! As you’d suspect – this is being pointed at Palin and Beck, the 2 most feared Conservative voices. Also there are a lot of calls for gun control. A couple examples that weren’t modded out:

“I hope Sarah Palin is forced to account for this in stark terms of her being an accessory in an assassination.
What I mean by that, is Sarah Palin facing a death penalty for a capital crime due to her direct involvement in the assassination of an elected official. ”

    “The moment I heard this….

… I immediately knew she was a Democrat, just as I know the shooter is a piece of garbage Republican, brainwashed by Limbaugh/Hannity/Beck/Fox News. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the majority of Republicans feel murder is perfectly fine if it’s the enemy (making their pro-life claims ludicrous). These people have no problem with killing anyone who says, does, or thinks things they don’t like.

Let’s expect a lot of nasty remarks from the right-wing on how it’s the DEMOCRATS who are the real murderers/destroyers/terrorists by pushing good people into acts of violence, along with a lot of bullshit about how Giffords somehow had it coming.

Republicans are the problem in this country. Not taxes, not immigration, not pollution, not global warming. Republicans. If they all vanished to Pluto overnight this country would find itself a paradise.”

“I will be the first to blame the GOP type Fear Mongering for this tragic event. I want it on record that the GOP Fear Mongering, Scare Tactics, spreading lies, parrot phrases like “Job Killing” HealthCare, & the rest of their political game playing is now leading to Tragic Violence. I am calling the Republican out on it & demanding they STOP! Can’t you hear the American People screaming STOP Mr. Boehner? You have blood on your hands now! Start telling the truth & start working for the good of the country for a change!”

Does anyone really know what the left wants???

What do they want going after Beck and Palin?
To shut them up to stop them from loving their Country.

These people wouldn’t last 5 minutes in a real Communist controlled Country.
Don’t they think that sooner or later they will come after their money too?
They think because they are rich and helping obama they will be rewarded and left to continue on their own.

Not going to happen .. The Rick left will lose everything too.
There will never be enough money or power to satisfy the likes of Soros or obama.
Look at the amount of Money Michelle spent this year.
Think that Bitch is going to be happy Jane has more money then she “Nope”.
It will go from bad to worse. the only think we will have to look forward to is their fall to the bottom with us.

They need to think. Obama is a tyrant and one if not the most evil man alive right now.

    @Rob:

Krugman’s always been a political hack in economist’s clothing. He was pushing the “New Economy” in the 90′s, then the moment the economy started to crash, he jumped onto the “liquidity trap” bandwagon.

At best, the most that can be said for the guy is that he took other economist’s theories and dumbed them down (or perhaps more correctly, removed the academic language) enough for the average person to feel like they had an understanding of market mechanisms. That turned him into a “genius”, one pushed by Wall Street, because as they pointed Krugman to each “brilliant” article, they took contrary positions, and made a freakin’ fortune as the guppies piled on.

When the bottom inevitably fell out of each market sector a few weeks after his articles pumped them up, he always had a scapegoat, most notably GWB, but also anyone not an extreme leftist, thus absolving himself of any blame.

Now that the market’s crashed and most people have been wiped out by morons like Krugman, there’s little left for him to do, aside from pushing Obama’s “recovery”, and attack non-progressives head-on.

    Via Michelle Malkin.

    He was a nut:
The man linked to the shooting today of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others is 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner, the Associated Press reported.
Police have surrounded a house at 7700 N. Soledad Ave., which is the address listed by a man with the same name on a variety of online accounts and in the volunteer registry for the 2010 Tucson Festival of Books. The home is near West Magee Road and North Thornydale Road on the northwest side, about five miles from the shooting scene.
A former classmate of Loughner at Pima Community College said he was “obviously very disturbed.”
“He disrupted class frequently with nonsensical outbursts,” said Lynda Sorenson, who took a math class with Loughner last summer at Pima Community College’s Northwest campus.
Sorenson doesn’t recall if he ever made any threats or uttered political statements but he was very disruptive, she said. He was asked to leave the pre-algebra class several times and eventually was barred from class, said Sorenson, a Tucson resident…
…The online accounts also contain bizarre discussions of a new currency and literacy, as well as threatening and despairing messages.
“WOW! I’m glad i didn’t kill myself. I’ll see you on National T.v.! This is foreshadow …. why doesn’t anyone talk to me?..” he posted on MySpace Dec. 14.
On Dec. 13, he wrote: “I don’t feel good: I’m ready to kill a police officer! I can say it.”
In a posting on YouTube, Loughner wrote repeatedly about a new currency.
“I’m thinking of creating a new currency,” he wrote. “Therefore, I’m thinking of a design for my new coins size, shape, color, material, and image to start a new money system.”
He also wrote repeatedly about literacy. In a written message on YouTube, Loughner said: “The majority of people, who reside in District-8 are illiterate — hilarious. I don’t control your English grammar structure, but you control your English grammar structure.”
In a message posted on his MySpace account, titled “Goodbye friends,” Loughner said: “Dear friends…please don’t be mad at me. The literacy rate is below 5%. I haven’t talked to one person who is literate.” It was unclear when it was posted.
In a MySpace profile, Loughner said “My favorite interest was reading, and I studied grammar. Conscience dreams were a great study in college.”
He lists among his favorite books “Mein Kampf” and “The Communist Manifesto”. But he also includes a broad variety of other titles, including: “Animal Farm,” “Brave New World,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”.

Lets find out who he really was. From what I have seen so far, he is stating that people in the 8th district (his district and Giffords) are not very smart, don’t even have good grammar. That isn’t to say they don’t speak English, as in Foreign speaking. It sounds like he is saying that the people, in general, are illiterate. That sure sounds like what a lot of lefties think of the uneducated and “unwashed masses” in middle America. It will be interesting to see where this goes!

The Left will always have a speed advantage with their message, because facts never matter to them. Their message is the same even if no facts support their propaganda.

It does not matter in the slightest to them that here is another violent Lefty responsible, as is almost always the case, and the violence they claim for the right is practically non-existent.

Why? Because Communists LOVE to lie, and that includes their dupes. They can only survive by the lie.

On the other hand, I’ve been amazed at how Conservatives, like those here at WZ, kept seeking facts before assigning blame. We may have speculated, but we were still somewhat cautious, and we prayed a lot for the victims. And who could blame our speculation given the nearly perfect track record of Leftist violence and peacefulness of the Tea Party movement? But within an hour or so, the facts had emerged on the net.

Our strength will always be in the facts. That’s how we will win arguments. But facts take longer than lies. So hang in there when news breaks, gather the facts, then run with them, and know your enemy will always be a little faster with lies, but they’ll have to hide eventually from the truth.

A party that does not shun Bill Ayers and promotes him to a position of power to educate youngsters does not even get to comment on political violence.

We have been treated to a week where the Dems recoiled from the reading of the Constitution like a bunch of vampires from garlic and where they have jumped to conclusions they cannot possibly have proof of at this time and used a tragedy to try to skewer their political enemies. That is just who they are.

How a nation that has done all of the great things this one has done can suffer such an irresponsible press corp will be a mystery for the ages.

God, watch over all of us! Those who believe will be praying hard tonight, especially for the Congresswoman, her family, friends, and the families and friends of those who were injured and murdered. We lost a great Judge, and an innocent child, along with other hard working Americans.

Pray for Gabby’s father, who stated that the whole TEA PARTY was her enemy, so he will realize that competition in elections, and differences of opinion that lead to healthy discourse, are good for our way of government. The tragic events that occurred today are not the norm. Interacting in politics, and disagreeing with others is going to happen with 300 million people living in one nation. This behavior does not lead to irrational actions or behavior unless the perpetrator is irrational to begin with.

That’s because he was found to be a leftard after initial reports indicated he was a disgruntled wingnut. Story was shut down fast, and that’s what’s going to happen here. When mentioned, the shooter will become “a disturbed man who disagreed with Democratic Rep. They want hate speech laws, the FCC to remove Talk Radio and FOX News and they want Republicans to be fearful of talking about the constitution and repealing health care. Republicans should tell them when they return to session to stop trying to politically profit from the blood spilt by a mad man. Someone should also raise holy you know what over the left hate on Palin as they ARE trying to get her killed by one of their other minions.

This shooter was an atheist. Obama and his administration will use this to go after his political opposition as domestic terroistsl, the second amendment and Chrsitians. They are so predictable and Republicans had better stand up and yell back at them and stop them for persecuting Republicans. Rinos had best not use this to come after their poltiical oppostion in the party too, or they will make things much, much worse for everybody.

whthfk says: What do you think will happen next?

I can’t say anything specific but what I do know is that Ocaca laid the groundwork for this to happen. If not him, somebody in his cabal is a very astute person at assessing the weaknesses of others and right now, they’re playing turncoats like Fonda like the cheap whore she is as well as the rest of the restive Left.

My guess is that now that he’s seen success with his methods, he’ll just calmly and methodically continue with them to see if he can make the environment so toxic, that we will see more and more assassinations. This is something, you may recall, I predicted over a year ago.

You may also recall that I have repeatedly said, even before he was installed, that this man will get a taste for blood like no other president in OUR history, and few other villians in history.

This man Ocaca (liberally translated it means “man-turd”), like Hitler, Stalin and Mao before him, doesn’t just thrive on the death of other people, it energizes and gives meaning to his vapid, pointless, meritless life. It feeds his power over others.

Imagine, if you will (with apologies to Rod Serling), that Ocaca believes himself to be a god. No, check that. God Himself. As president, he now has the power, which he believes he deserves, to decide who lives and who dies. That makes him a “god” and justifies his existence. Ocaca actually believes, falsely, of course, that he deserves not just this power, but the recognition to the entire world that he has this power and is this powerful. He has the power of life and death over you. That fulfills his fantasy that he is superior to you and everyone else in the entire world.

Ocaca truly believes that his destiny is to rule the world. He has convinced himself that he IS God. And we should be afraid. Of him. And we should be but not the way he sees it.

What all this causes me to conclude is that I think he will continue to calmly tighten the noose around our necks until he has full dictatorial control over us and our country, then the world. He will use this tragedy in little ways to justify each and every step, never getting “too big for his britches” so much so that it will alarm us into fighting back.

That’s why I have steadfastly disagreed with all those fearing martial law. He knows too well that it would cause an immediate backlash. So it’s going to be slow and methodical like boiling a frog until it dies. We die. When death comes, in his mind, people will be too weak to fight it, and those who are part of him, will rejoice.

This is also one of the reasons I rail against the SS/Secret Service for NOT doing their job of removing a usurper and clearly a dictator in all but public acknoledgement. I consider too many inside the SS to be traitors also, or simply so delusional, they do not see the crimes taking place before their very eyes. I put the congress, the governors and many others in positions of power delusional and traitors as well. But, I guess God simply wants this to play out, or, this is simply the way it must happen.

The People are waking up, and they are being attacked from every corner for waking up. We are at THE crossroads of history. It’s not coming. It’s here. Now. Today. And it’s up to us to fight, or give up and die.

Ocaca will never stop. He will NOT compromise. He will destroy this country and us with it. Then, he will turn on the world.

So that’s what I think is going to happen. For him, one step at a time. For us, one death at a time. Until he and his overlords and followers are stopped permanently. It is THE battle of RIGHT vs. WRONG. It is the War of GOOD vs. EVIL. It is the War, the ultimate War of Life and Freedom, or Slavery and Death. And we are here to witness it.

If Ocaca is removed from power, as with Hitler before him, there will be a period when his acolytes will continue his war, but they will ultimately lose because Good always defeats Evil, eventually.

But I fear that if something is not done soon, within the next year or two, we are doomed to an even more frightful War of Destruction. Just as many in Germany, and France before them with Napoleon, many people see what is happening and understand what must be done to save humanity. But the question now, today, at this very moment, will We The People have the clear thinking and courage to stop it now before it gets much worse.

    That’s what I think.

He used a Glock 19 9mm, with a 33 rd extended clip. He could have gotten enough lead flying before the tackle occurred.

    Let’s sum up.

    IRS plane crasher – liberal
    Pentagon shooter – liberal
    Discovery shooter – liberal
PTA V for Vendetta shooter – liberal
    Jared Lee Loughner – Anarchist

The only act of similar violence in the past 10-15 years from the “right wing” was the abortion doctor who was killed.

Who’s rhetoric is responsible for violence?

I thought that earlier too, but seeing his ‘movements’ from the day he wasn’t exactly scheduled to be there at that time. Sort of wrong place at wrong time … unless the shooter was stalking and following him.

    As to the Palin bashing:

    1) they’re shooting themselves squarely in the foot on this and it will backfire big time. Unless this guy has a shrine built in his room to Palin I’d wager he hates her as much as he evidently hates Giffords. The problem with “strawmen” is that it only takes one spark to burn it down.

    2) if Palin is so dumb, stupid, ignorant, comical, laughable, and no threat at all WHY is it so important now to “throwdown” the gun at her feet by these people? The left works too damn hard to bury her if she’s worth nothing …

Gabrielle Gifford and the Federal Judge had it coming. Congress and our political “machine” is turning this country to crap. Inflation by unregulated FED, BAILOUTS, Tax cuts for the RICH, soldiers (middle class/poor) killed for lies that are based on corporations and the rich wanting oil holdings in the middle east, Wikileaks showing the evil nature of our government like spying, public and federal employees earning more than private, the Chinese, Russians and previously many of the Middle East dropped the US dollar, mainstream news like CNN, MSNBC avoid topics like these in mainstream media, this young man was brave.

As for the one victim a 10 year old child, I do not condone hurting a child, ever, but things are going to get worse before getting better, if possible at this point. For those about to take on the WRONGDOERS, I understand but please watch out for the children. As adults, we all got it coming, like in the movie Unforgiven. Americans are not like the French, we do not make large demonstrations. Instead we stew, and we see what is going on, we are not as stupid as many of the rich would like to believe. When we fire back, you will know it in a crazed rampage. Americans know where the rich live, Congressmen and other State and Federal workers hang out, and we even know how to hide. We will leak CORPORATE SECRETS and take the world down with us. All it takes is vandalism to public property, avoiding paying taxes and using only cash, or in these extreme cases shootings, bombings and even anthrax, to even the playing field. Now I suggest that those in “Power” wake up and give the regular citizen back what is theirs or I fear there will be hell to pay here in America. What do they have to lose at this point. The shooter of Gabrielle Gifford was in his 20s with his whole life ahead of him. He gave it up because the world pushed hard enough to make him push back. I am leaving this lunatic asylum as soon as I get situated in another country. The corruption between the sheeple or corrupt controlling rich is a war I do not plan to stick around and watch play out. I kind of figured that Arizona or Texas would be a likely first of eruption. I also figured a problem might be around the corner with all the dead birds and fish, HA, HA, HA.

    He has to go…now.

  201. MUSLIMANIA says:
    January 9, 2011 at 9:35 am

    This is just the beginning.

As long as people (from either political persuasion) feel threatened and see no civil recourse to address their greivances against the government, THEY WILL STRIKE OUT.

The fact that this guy took out nineteen (19) people, including children, PROVES that the act was INDISCRIMINATE. The shooter is obviously insane.

What the politicians fear MOST, and what they are literally PISSING THEIR PANTS over, is that they see the possibility of otherwise SANE and ordinary people, who find themselves in the same position, with no recourse to grievances, taking them out ONE AT A TIME.

And I agree with them. Their fears are LEGITIMATE. Why?

Because they are starting to realize that POLITICAL FAILURE HAS CONSEQUENCES.

This isn’t some cartoon, where Wiley Coyote falls off of a cliff and gets smashed into a pancake upon impact, only to pull himself up and walk away. This is REAL LIFE. And real life has consequences. It’s called CAUSE AND EFFECT.

WE CANNOT AFFORD FAILURE. Our political “leadership” MUST lead in the proper directions or the country will fail. Any breakdown in civil order is THE DIRECT RESULT of failure in our civil structure, our courts, our laws, our “leadership”. We are a country of people who have been pushed to the edge of extinction by liberal, “progressive” attitides wherein anything earned by a worker is given away to someone else. THIS IS NOT SUSTAINABLE INDEFINITELY and has been going on since Franklin Fucking Rooseveldt.

So. What our politicians are finding out, from behind the veil of political power and the “security” that it advertises, is that ULTIMATELY, ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, THEY ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE PEOPLE.

    And, that’s Constitutional.

As incomprehensible as Jared Loudner was, how messed up must someone be to identify with him? At most, we have an example of two insane people feeding off each others paranoia.

There can only be collaboration where there is understanding. Once the language becomes so abstract as to be considered irrational by normal standards, a person becomes isolated from everyone else on the planet.

It is not uncommon for schizophrenia to appear at the age of 22. It happens all the time.

  214. The REAL Bob says:

    @ whthfk

    Another observation.

Again, having lived through the Vietnam anti-war riots and seen how crowds are manipulated, I believe what we are seeing is an attempt to congeal the Demorroid coalition against conservatives after they were eviscerated in the last election.

They need a demon, a booggyman, or in this case a boogywoman to rally their troops against. Their problem is twofold. First, the facts so far don’t support any of their claims and secondly, exit polls after the Nov. election showed that 40% of those polled after voting said they supported the Tea Party.

Since libturds represent only 20-22% of the American population, 40% support the Tea Party and consistently over the past 30 years, conservatives are represented by an average of 60% of the voters, they cannot win. Especially if conservatives ban together, which they have partly under the Tea Party banner, and go after them with every weapon at their disposal.

For example, simply stop buying anything tainted by liberalism which startes with any product produced by the MSM. It means a tax revolt. (IMHO, the Pubix are going to fail at controling government spending without more of an incentive, like cutting off their money.) And other acts of non-violence at our disposal.

It means hammering both conservatives and Libturds in congress 24/7 demanding they fix the country OUR way, not their way.

FDR once famously said “There are two parties in Washington. The party in power and the party that wants to be in power.” That means, same problems, different solutions. E.g., to turn around the economy, stimulate the it with tax cuts or Kaynsian deficit spending. One relies on The People, the other relies on Big Government. One way, we lose our freedom, the other way we thrive on our freedom. FDR was right. That’s what it all boils down to.

In the case of this tragedy, we must demand the changes and corrections that give us MORE not LESS freedom.

Obama and Libshits like Fonda want a dictatorship.

Frankly, I think that the evidence is overwhelming. Obama is going to end up like Mussolini, hanging from a rope. The more they push to supress, distress and punish the Right will backfire.

And IMHO, again, I believe the REAL villain behind all this IS Ocaca and his fellow co-conspirators. It’s not Palin or Beck or any other conservative the delusional Left is using to attack conservatives. They are the Left’s strawmen.

We have met the enemy and they are not us, they are the Leftists, Libturds, Repressives and Democrats.

Will we be able to beat them to a pulp peacefully? Only time will tell, but I’m beginning to have my doubts.

The congresswoman — may God give her a full recovery — was also a target but for different reasons and to add fuel to the divisive fires. IMO.

Dot: How the hell was the judge a target if he wasnt supposed to be at the event? Most people couldnt pick out a federal judge from the person standing next to him. Politicians are more identifiable because they receive all the face time in media coverage.

I think the judge was just standing near Giffords and became a target, just like the 18 other victims.

    Note to MMFlint’s query:

Big Sis and AG al Holder would be consulting with CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood to ‘make adjustments’ to how ‘targets’ are translated between differing cultures/religions/ideologies.

Knowing the Muslim world’s proclivity for assholes the target would be seen as a wish list for a sexual partner … so it would be deemed OK by the DHS and the DOJ.

    Next?

pg — how? Do you think people are that difficult to follow — or even to conveniently “herd” to a desired location — in this day and time?

What if the congresswoman were the target of the kid, while the judge was the target of someone else? The judge suffered multiple shot wounds according to a report I saw; she got the one as far as I know.

Can you honestly not fathom two things going on at once? Really?

Where did you read about the judge suffering multiple wounds? I havent seen or heard anything other than Giffords single shot to the head.

    Here for one:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704030704576070010694650214.html

“He cut in front of the line and shot her [Representative Giffords] pointblank in the head with a semi-automatic pistol.

The gunman then sprayed the crowd with shots in rapid succession. The sheriff’s office said the pistol had an extended magazine, which allowed him to take at least 20 shots at the crowd, which was hemmed in by a table and two concrete pillars. “

  223. phillyguy says:

that just reiterates what I said….Judge Roll was an victim, not the target. I read the article twice and it said absolutely nothing about the Judge being shot multiple times as you stated.

Using your logic I can say that the two senior citizens were the targets but Giffords got in the way, thus she was the 1st one shot. Maybe it was a conspiracy to kill old people? Maybe the gunman’s grandmom didnt hug him enough when he was a child so he hated old people?

Again, you’re reaching for something that just not there based on the information available right now and eye witness reports.

This story, as well as multitudinous others, report the judge and the little girl dying from multiple gunshot wounds. Other stories give details on multiple gunshot wounds of the other victims.

    2. You are just perturbed that I’m not chewing on the bone that the media (and other criminals) are throwing us: that this awkward looking miscreant planned and executed this massacre in a vacuum.

Great news, NOIP! However, I sometimes wonder if my e-mail address is on some kind of “watch list.” To which I say, “Watch this.” :)

    …

What are some of the most famous last words before a trip to the ER?

“Hey — watch this” tops the list. I saw that on a billboard one time for a local hospital. Great ad campaign.

You people are seriously deluded here. Why don’t you go back and review the film, news, stories and whatever information coming from both sides of this republic from both the democrats and the republicans/conservatives/TeaPartiers since the election of a black man, and tell yourselves some truth. Being ridiculous is passe. You write and act as if you have nothing but fear and ignorance to live for. Hate is an ugly emotion that does wicked things to the mind and body. You guys need to stop spouting your hate and do what Jesus said and follow the truth. You are still alive and no one has taken your rights away, America is still here, wake up and go hug your friends and families and live, sheesh.

    The Incitement Double Standard

    by Jonathan S. Tobin

As the political left seeks to use the Arizona tragedy to tar all conservatives with the brush of the murderer, there is another point to remember here. In the past few years, there have been several shootings and terrorists attacks carried out or attempted by American Muslims who were clearly influenced by extremist Islam.

Yet every time such a crime happens, liberals loudly warn us that an examination of the motives of those who carry out such attacks is beyond the pale, since such ruminations might be prejudicial to Muslims, even if the truth is that those crimes were influenced by Islam.

Caution is always advisable when seeking to associate anyone or anything with a violent crime, even though the links between some of these cases of Muslim terrorism and extreme forms of Islam are fairly clear. Yet today there are no such warnings being sounded in the media cautioning Americans not to attribute the actions of an unstable individual to political movements that actually have nothing to do with his crime. Indeed, far from preemptively warning the public not to jump to conclusions, even within the first 24 hours after the assassination took place, ***we have already had several instances of the left seeking to link this crime with dissent against the policies of President Obama and his Democratic congressional supporters.***

It is curious that many of the same media forums, such as the New York Times, that have repeatedly refused even to report, let alone editorialize, about the links between Islamist beliefs and terror are ***openly seeking to blame the Arizona attack on the Tea Party or anyone else who has had the temerity to question the president, publishing stories that seek to shift the public’s attention from the murderer to Tea Party activists and Republicans, who have nothing to do with this crime. But so deeply ingrained is liberal bias within our mainstream media that no one there seems to understand that there is a double standard at play here.***

Well aren’t you the enlightened one. You seem to think liberty is the natural political state of man. It is not. You seem to think liberty is something that can never be taken from you. It can. No, I’m afraid you are the one who is deluded.

Go back to your Rodney King la-la land and leave liberty’s defense to those that have the understanding, will, courage and stomach to do the job.

You all miss the BIG PICTURE. It does not matter what you say, or your take on freedom of speech. Jared Loughner proved this. We all see the wrongs that our government is doing, and anytime someone wants to even the score, well you saw what happened. Everyone can buy a gun and make a decision, and what you write here is not going to change a thing. Any law you pass, even gun control, is not going to change a thing. You can have a big blog march to whatever political, religious or ideological hole you want. The point is no one, deep down, gives a shit. When a person becomes brave enough, or crazy as you like to label, then Congress will be in the CROSSHAIRS time and time again.

Point to Jared Loughner’s problems all you want. You can’t tell me that bailouts, tax breaks for rich, fed pumping dollars like its going out of style (QE1 QE2 = deflation), America in economic ruin, and this had nothing to do with it. Even a little bit. Try doing something important, at least protest, your blogging is lame. Better to live on your feet than die on your knees you pussies.
