Just forget all that stuff about Lee Harvey Oswald being a self-proclaimed Marxist who defected to the USSR, offered his services to the Castro regime, had originally planned to kill a conservative general who was an outspoken critic of Cuba etc.

A Birmingham radio caller declared that “any white man who did what he did for niggers should be shot.” As my siblings and I visited the White House to console my cousins John and Caroline, a picket paraded out front with a sign, “God punished JFK.”
Jack had received myriad warnings against visiting the right-wing Texas city. Indeed, there had been a sense of foreboding even within our family as he and Aunt Jackie prepared for the trip. Jack made an unscheduled trip to Cape Cod to say goodbye to my ailing grandfather. The night before the trip, Mummy found Jack distant and brooding at a dinner for the Supreme Court Justices. Oswald joined the ACLU only weeks before shooting JFK. He apparently believed that membership constituted a kind of get-out-jail-free card.

The Kennedys have never been know for their innate intelligence. That is why so many of them are dead Kennedys.
That includes driving into a kill zone at slow speed in a convertible, flying a plane into conditions with the fore knowledge you need an instrument rating but only knowing VFR and taking off anyway, riding heroin needles; you won’t get hooked or overdose, you’re a Kennedy, drowning innocent women, bludgeoning adolescent girls to death with a golf club, and using said half-wit woman-drowing Uncle as your mentor and close political advisor ultimately cycling through rehab during your tenure as a politician and getting thrown out of office in possibly the most communist state in the union.

I was in one of those 4th grade classes when the PA system announced that President John Kennedy had been shot and we should all bow our heads and pray. This was in a little town outside the army training camp at Ft. Polk, LA. You could have heard a pin drop in that classroom of 4th graders. I saw grown men and women crying that day. This man is a liar and evil on top of that.
While he’s lambasting the right, would someone take him aside and teach him a little history – Does he not realize that it was the support of the Republican party and not his fellow Democrats that supported civil rights legislation? The only time anyone would have yelled “treason” or picketed with a sign, for that matter would have been when JFK reneged on promised support to the anti-Castro freedom fighters.
Actually, Andrew, from what little I know of John Jr, he was relatively inoffensive, at least for a Kennedy.
I wonder if ole Bobby Jr. has any clue to how many death threats Sarah Palin get per day? Do ya think they are right wingers? How about Bill O’Rielly? Or Sean Hannity? Rush? I’ve never understood how Clinton got away with having half the US Navy out there searching for the wreckage of a plane of a private citizen for FREE! If I had nosedived a plane into the waters off the coast, you can be certain not a single US Navy vessel would be sent out to search for me… perhaps I’d warrant a single Coast Guard helicopter for a couple of hours, but little more than that. Why was there no outrage that the US taxpayers were footing the bill for what should have been a private salvage operation of the wreck of JFK Jr.’s plane?
