Obama Regime Gives Another $7 Million to Left-Wing Groups to Continue Its “Environmental Justice” Campaign…
Nothing to do with the environment, everything to do with wealth redistribution.
Obama’s EPA devotes another $7 million to ‘environmental justice’ campaign — Washington Examiner
Not even sure what the “Environmental Justice” noted in the headline above might be about? It’s likely that neither are most other Americans but that doesn’t prevent President Obama’s EPA administrator, Lisa Jackson, from sending $7 million of the taxpayers’ money to dozens of groups mounting academic and propaganda campaigns organized around that theme.
Judicial Watch reports that Jackson’s agency announced late last week that the $7 million will be awarded ”to study how pollution, combined with stress and other social factors, affects people in ‘poor and under-served communities.’ The agency refers to it as cumulative human health risk assessment research and the goal is to rid under-served communities of extensive pollution-based problems.”
Environmental Justice is a left-wing activist concept in which poor communities are assumed to be more heavily affected by pollution because they are politically defenseless against polluters, and therefore it is up to the government to step in and provide assistance to redress the alleged imbalance. . . .
Judicial Watch fills in the blanks on this latest Obama initiative designed to send millions of tax dollars to activists groups whose members are likely to be among his core supporters for his re-election campaign in 2012:
“It’s all part of the administration’s effort to bring environmental justice to low-income populations by helping them obtain the same degree of protection from health and environmental hazards as wealthy communities.
“Here’s how it works; the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) gives money to leftwing groups—including some dedicated to helping illegal immigrants — that teach black, Latino and indigenous folks how to recycle, reduce carbon emissions through “weatherization” and participate in ‘green jobs’ training.

I think Environmental Justice is where Monkey’s, Cows, Sheep and Pigs have to be read their rights and will have a court appointed attorney. They will also have the right to sue.
One would think that any policy of “justice” would be decided in a court of law, but they would be wrong.
‘Social Justice’, ‘Economic Justice’, and ‘Environmental Justice’ are judgments made by the American legislature, and they hope to enforce a set of standards that are not written anywhere. These are judgments based on a standard that was never agreed upon.
No evidence is presented in these cases, other than a baaaad feeling about an issue.

Seems to me this son of a bitch is in contempt of the Constitution as Congress has the authority to initiate and authorize spending. The president only signs or vetoes the bill. And since Congress serves at our (taxpayer) pleasure, I don’t remember when I gave my authorization for this communist turd to spend my money.

“Environmental justice,” as I understand the term, is a concept with merit. It’s an undeniable fact that toxic and hazardous manufacturing facilities, waste dumps, landfills, etc., really are located disproportionately in neighborhoods with predominantly Black and Hispanic populations.
I don’t see anything wrong with trying to address that imbalance.
The need for correction was illustrated years ago when Larry Summers was vice president and chief economist of the World Bank, and he advocated shipping our hazardous waste to poor Third World countries.

I am pro-life, always have been, always will be. I see “environmental justice” as being part of respect for life.
Judicial Watch talks about funds being used for “weatherization” and “green jobs.” I don’t know anything about that. It certainly wouldn’t be surprising at all if the Obama Administration is using funds earmarked for environmental justice to instead just give goodies to its favorite constituencies. If that is so, then I would applaud Judicial Watch for being a good watchdog.
But “environmental justice,” in and of itself, is a good thing, in my book. It’s wrong to impose higher rates of cancer, mercury poisoning, etc., on a local population just because it’s a minority group — although I see it as a CLASS thing, not necessarily a color thing. Heaven knows, down in Pasadena and Deer Park and Clear Lake City, Texas — the oil-refining and petrochemical capital of America — there are horrible health risks from all that toxic stuff — but many of the residents are working-class white folks, NOT “people of color.”

Here’s what I see going down with this after thinking about it for a moment.
Obama is paying for a study to see if toxins and so forth are being dumped and pumped into these places with high clusters of Minorities.
The study will concur that these people are being discriminated on and that they are also being targeted thus insuring that Holder will come in and give them a big Pigford pay off all over again
