Hilarious: Dem Congressman Claims Americans Love ObamaCare Because It “Liberates Them From Bureaucracy”…

You really can’t be any more out of touch than this.

(RCP)- “You want to talk about bureaucracy, ladies and gentlemen. That’s why this legislation is growing in popularity because small businesses see, senior citizens see, parents with children under 26 they see a chance to liberate themselves from the most arbitrary, the most capricious, the most bureaucratic system in our entire free economy.

And that’s the insurance companies. Everybody has been run around the block by their insurance companies. It’s something they all share. It’s almost the problems they share with their cable company. Not quite. But it’s not as dramatic here because this is life and death. This is the security of your family. This is whether or not you can change jobs. This is whether or not your children will be protected. This is whether or not your parents will be able to afford their drug because that’s what this legislation enables and gives the freedom to American families to have.

Repeal — we go back into the clutches, the clutches of these bureaucrats spread across the world in the insurance company,” Rep. George Miller (D-CA) said on the House floor today.

FYI: This is the bureaucracy grid ObamaCare creates.

You want to see funny…you should watch his screech (all of it) with the volume off- that’s where I had it this morning when he and others were doing their thing- glanced up and saw those arms back and forth with clenched fists going up and down one at a time from one side to the other with every word he must have been screeching…it was too much fun.

Vote for Kill the Bill should be starting in about a half an hour from now.

The dems are truly comical with their anger…poor babies.

Btw…and the msm tells us to be civil!

    Again with this?

Are Democrats still holding out hope that we will base OUR opinions on THEIR opinions, instead of basing them on our own perception?

(“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!”)

    —————

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timur_Kuran#Availability_Cascades_and_Risk_Regulation

“Availability cascade” is a concept that Timur Kuran developed jointly with Cass Sunstein, initially through a 1999 article entitled “Availability Cascades and Risk Regulation.” An availability cascade is a process of COLLECTIVE BELIEF FORMATION whereby an expressed perception triggers reactions that make that perception seem increasingly plausible through its rising availability in public discourse. The driving mechanism ordinarily involves a combination of informational and reputational motives. INDIVIDUAL ENDORSE THE PERCEPTION PARTLY BECAUSE THEY BASE THEIR OWN BELIEFS ON THE APPARENT BELIEFS OF OTHERS. The other motivation is social acceptance, which individuals achieve through preference falsification.

Kuran and Sunstein observe that availability entrepreneurs — activists who aim TO CONTROL THE CONTENT OF PUBLIC DISCOURSE — engineer availability cascades to further their own agendas.

He speaks as if he’s sunk his entire life savings into the success of ObamaCare. Did he invest in one of the Pharmaceutical companies that conspired with the Democratic party?

I wonder if anyone is looking at his investments.

That line is almost as funny as this one:

“We have to pass this bill so the American people can find out what is in it…”

Um, you know that line about the fork? Stick it, you’re done.

We didn’t believe that line and we certainly don’t believe you either…

This clip is almost as funny as this one–

    http://ace.mu.nu/archives/300087.php

where Congressman Hank Johnson, D-4th District of Georgia said, on the floor back in March of 2010, he was worried that Guam would tip over if it were used as a military stop over. All the extra people and equipment might cause it to tip into the ocean.

The sad part is that I think Johnson really believed what he was saying, and I can’t believe that George Miller, D-California, really believes what he is saying. I think he just hopes that we believe it.

Highest debt in American history, higher than total debt accumulated from George Washington through Clinton. Actual unemployment as reported 1/18/11…….17%.

Well, he’s right about one thing; I have had a few choice words to say about my insurance company from time to time. Sometimes it seems like the folks at the other end of the phone are about as dumb as a box of rocks. My wife gets very tired of having to explain our insurance plan to them every time we interact, and they almost always get it wrong the first time around.

Having said that, the experience is much less frustrating than dealing with just about any government bureaucracy I can name. And if I get too frustrated, I can always change insurance companies (unlike government agencies or even my cable company, since Rep Miller brought that one up). I may not get that much better service, but I can get some satisfaction out of the switch.

And I am sure that the insurance company representatives my wife deals with would be much more conversant with our plan, if they didn’t have so darned many plans to deal with – brought on by government regulation of the health insurance industry.

What polling data is Rep Miller looking at? I see NO evidence that ObamaCare is “gaining in popularity.”
