Daily Kos: Ending Taxpayer-Funded Abortions Means “Transition to American Taliban” Is Complete…

Or something…
Comments & pings are closed.(Newsbusters) — Following up on CBS worrying about Republicans satisfying the “conservative right wing” on abortion: At the Daily Kos, Saturday’s Open Thread by Dante Atkins kissed up to Kos founder Markos Moulitsas, hyping his “American Taliban” attack line again, this time about H.R. 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act. Atkins can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want their tax dollars going to the exercise of the heroic right to abortion, especially after statutory rape:
It’s the type of thing that really makes you wonder what’s wrong with people. Is it any wonder that women tend to vote for Democrats? The GOP thinks that unless you were hogtied or had a knife brandished at you, you deserve whatever you get. Why not just put women in a burqa, assign them a male relative as an escort, and be done with it? Then the transition to American Taliban can be complete.
Atkins thinks it’s awful that an adult would have sex with a middle-schooler, and that the villain of this piece becomes the Republican politician who won’t make that sickness “whole” by funding the inevitable abortion with taxpayer dollars.

Asswipe.
So what happens when islam takes over and decapitates these people will they say that is not what the quran is all about?
Useful idiots please.
Abortion is NOT birth control.
i tried to read this article but it makes no sense to me at all.
then again most of what the Left are screaming about makes no sense anyway.
Obama promised Stupak and the American people that there would be no funding of abortions, so is KOS saying that President Obama gave us a bold-faced lie ?
Did I get caught in a lie again?
So what.Sit on your ass and take it
Abortion is 5 to 1 black. If the right were pro-abortion we’d be called genocidal racists. The left is so stupid that they are killing their future voters.
The left enjoys these types of illogical apples to oranges comparisons… and yet, somehow their base agrees with such fallacies of logic. Sheeple just do what they’re told.
Isn’t it interesting how these guys never seem to be able to protest the people that really are putting women in burqas?
* walking boss
Very true!! It is a good queestion!
C’mon. No one is THAT stupid, are they? Oh, they’re KOS Kids? Never mind.
I just wish the Republicans and the Tea Party would get OFF the far right religious issues already, though. National security and economy are so much larger issues and the abortion/gay debates just drive away the centrists and people who SHOULD pay more attention to the major issues at hand.
A true mental disorder indeed!
I guess it boils down to the fact that we are being forced to pay taxes, and then have very little say as to how that money is being used. If I believe that abortion is “killing”, why would I pay for it. I wouldn’t buy alcohol and cigs, if I don’t smoke and drink.
I wouldn’t contribute to a Democratic candidate, if I were voting for a Republican. Yet, my tax dollars were used for Obama and his wife, and Biden and OTHERS to campaign for Democrats (midterms).
I am not what you would call a religious person. I don’t have a preferred religion, and I rarely go to any church. I do have my own beliefs, and try to be a responsible, upright citizen and “INDIVIDUAL”. I am teaching my kids, the same. Does it mean that I am being an extremist, if I don’t want my “forced donation” being used to kill a baby?
I do agree that we need to concentrate on National Security and the Economy, but part of the financial crisis has to do with spending, and the Repubs are looking for savings in every program. This Administration claims that the HealthCare Insurance mandate is necessary so that people take responsibility for their own health, and payment for their care. In doing so, we also fund those who are “unable to pay”. I agree that some people need help. I am not opposed to helping, when necessary.
But, what happened to being responsible for becoming pregnant, (both genders) and all that that implies. If you become pregnant, and determine that abortion is your only option, should I be mandated to pay for that. I would much rather pay your rent and utilities for 9 months, to make it easier for you, in hopes that you would allow the child to live, and be adopted. It is not completely about the money for me, but more about my own moral convictions. If you take my taxes and pay for senior care, viable education programs, food stamps for those unable to work, etc., I am not against that. If you take that same money and apply it toward someone’s abortion, I OBJECT.

Molly, this continues to be a big issue because the leftist progressives who have taken over the Democrat party continue to MAKW it a big issue, and then force their decisions on all taxpayers. I asked for 3 things from my elected representatives this past November – 1) permanent Bush tax cuts 2) repeal of obamacare and 3) closing the border. Anything beyond that is just gravy and included on my wish list.
defund NPR, PBS
defund and get out of UN
defund all czars
quit giving taxpayer money to countries that hate us
reduce power of NEA, FCC, EPA etc.
Molly says:
Whoops, that should read: the Democrat party continue to MAKE (not MAKW) it a big issue,
Religion that treats women as property = hunky dory.
Being perceived as acting LIKE the religion/police state that treats women as property = The Worst Thing Ever ™.
I wish molly and her ilk would apply that to the death penalty but apparently evildoers are more important than babies.
