Number of States Developing Laws Requiring Presidential Candidates to Show Proof of Natural Born Citizenship Status Now up to 10…

Obama’s birth certificate continues to be hardest hit.
Arizona may have the most advanced plan, but 10 of the United States – controlling 107 Electoral College votes – are now considering some type of legislation that would plug the hole in federal election procedures that in 2008 allowed Barack Obama to be nominated, elected and inaugurated without providing proof of his qualifications under the U.S. Constitution.
And they aren’t all the simple legislation such as that adopted in New Hampshire a year ago that requires an affidavit from a candidate stating that the qualifications – age, residency and being a “natural born citizen” – have been met.
In Georgia, for example, HB37 by Rep. Bobby Franklin not only demands original birth-certificate documentation, it provides a procedure for and declares that citizens have “standing” to challenge the documentation.
According to officials with the National Conference of State Legislatures, 10 states already have some sort of eligibility-proof requirement plan.
There is Arizona’s HB2544, Connecticut’s SB391, Georgia’s HB37, Indiana’s SB114, Maine’s LD34, Missouri’s HB283, Montana’s HB205, Nebraska’s LB654, Oklahoma’s SB91, SB384 and SB540, and Texas; HB295 and HB529.
Led by Texas with 34, the states control 107 Electoral College votes.
The NCLS said New Hampshire last year adopted HB1245, but it requires only a statement under penalty of perjury that a candidate meets the qualification requirements of the U.S. Constitution, which is something similar to what the political parties already state regarding their candidates.
Pakistan: Al-Qaeda Leader Admits CIA Drone Airstrike Campaign Wreaking Havoc…

Obviously.
Islamabad (AP) - A purported al-Qaida leader in Pakistan says the terror network is losing territory and fighters amid a U.S. drone strike campaign, according to an audio message monitored by a U.S. organization that tracks militant propaganda.
The rare admission by Ustadh Ahmad Farooq follows an escalation in U.S. missile hits against al-Qaida and Taliban targets in the tribal belt along the border with Afghanistan, as well as increased Pakistani army operations over the last three years.
This week, President Barack Obama said al-Qaida’s leadership was facing more pressure in Pakistan than at any point since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, made wiping out the network America’s top defense and foreign policy priority.
The U.S.-based SITE Intelligence Group, which tracks militant Web sites and other media, described Farooq as al-Qaida’s head of media and preaching in Pakistan. It said late Wednesday that the recording was released by Al-Sahab, al-Qaida’s media arm.
SITE said Farooq spoke of the challenges facing al-Qaida in vague terms as part of a broader lecture on the need to keep faith in God during times of crisis. The 28-minute speech was released on jihadi forums on Jan. 23, according to the U.S. group.
“There were many areas where we once had freedom, but now they have been lost,” he said. “We are the ones that are losing people, we are the ones facing shortages of resources. Our land is shrinking and drones are flying in the sky.”
Pew Research: World Muslim Population Growing Twice as Fast as Non-Muslims…

Add in the Islamic world’s rapid shift toward fundamentalism and you have a recipe for disaster
(AOL News) — The global number of Muslims is expected to jump 35 percent in the next 20 years, growing twice as fast as the non-Muslim population, according to a study published today. But Muslims are multiplying at a slower pace than before, and their numbers are expected to level out in the coming decades.
That’s according to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, which published on its website today projections for growth in the Muslim population between 2010 and 2030. The analysis could stoke fears among critics of Islam in Europe and America, who claim the religion clashes with Western values and spreads extremism. But it could also abate those fears, with evidence that Islam is not exploding across the globe as fast as some pundits may have suggested.
According to the Pew report, the total number of people who identify themselves as Muslims is currently about 1.6 billion. That figure is expected to rise to 2.2 billion by the year 2030. That’s an average growth rate of 1.5 percent, compared with forecast growth of 0.7 percent for non-Muslims over the next 20 years. If those trends continue, Muslims will make up 26.4 percent of the world’s population in 2030, compared with 23.4 percent now.
Fun Fact of the Day: National Debt Increases by About $100 Million During Obama’s SOTU Address…

Chump change.
(PJM)- At the moment that President Obama began speaking last night, I recorded the tally on the National Debt Clock. It was 14 trillion, 74 billion, 755 million dollars. (The thousands speed by too quickly to register.) The moment that the president ceased speaking, I checked again: 14 trillion, 74 billion, 853 million dollars. So during the president’s speech, the national debt rose by $98 million.
Yet President Obama offered no serious proposals for reducing spending or debt. To the contrary, he talked about new spending he’d like to see. He offered only the occasional and unserious rhetorical nod to fiscal prudence: Having raised non-defense domestic discretionary spending by 24 percent on his watch, and by 84 percent when including his “stimulus,” he proposed to freeze it there — at that new, much higher, rate. That’s not exactly how you make a dent in a $14 trillion shortfall.
Feds Arrest Radical Muslim Cleric Trying to Sneak Into U.S. in Trunk of a Car After Being Deported by Canada…

I’m sure he just wanted to live the American dream.
(LA Times)- U.S. border authorities have arrested a controversial Muslim cleric who was deported from Canada to Tunisia three years ago and was caught earlier this month trying to sneak into California inside the trunk of a BMW, according to court documents.
Said Jaziri, the former Imam of a Muslim congregation in Montreal, was hidden inside a car driven by a San Diego-area man who was pulled over by U.S. Border Patrol agents near an Indian casino east of San Diego. Jaziri allegedly paid a Tijuana-based smuggling group $5,000 to get him across the border near Tecate, saying he wanted to be taken to a “safe place anywhere in the U.S.”
The arrest marks the unexpected resurfacing of the 43-year-old cleric, whose protracted legal battle to avoid deportation drew headlines in Canada. A Tunisian immigrant, Jaziri was deported for failing to disclose a criminal conviction in France while applying for refugee status in the mid-1990s.
But Jaziri’s supporters said he was targeted for his fundamentalist views: Jaziri backed Sharia law for Canadian Muslims and led protests over the publication of the prophet Muhammad cartoons in a Danish newspaper in 2006.
Jaziri is being held as a material witness in the criminal case against the BMW’s driver, Kenneth Robert Lawler, who has been charged with immigrant smuggling. He is at the San Luis Detention Facility near Yuma, Ariz., according to his attorney, Wayne Charles Mayer. His bond has been set at $25,000.
In Quebec’s large Muslim community, Jaziri stood out for his outspoken views, and though his mosque was small, he drew outsized media attention for his strict interpretation of the Koran. Jaziri labeled homosexuality a sin and pushed for government subsidies to build a large mosque for Montreal’s growing Muslim population.
“His nickname in Quebec was the controversial imam,” said Lise Garon, a professor of communications at Laval University in Quebec City, adding that his case tapped into the anti-immigrant mood in the community. “I think he was deported because people hated his ideas.”
Anti-Sharia Bill Introduced in South Carolina Legislature…

CAIR cries Islamophobia in 3..2..1..
COLUMBIA, S.C. – A legislative initiative aimed at preventing “a court or other enforcement authority” from enforcing foreign law in the Palmetto State was introduced today in both the S.C. House and Senate by Rep. Wendy Nanney (who drafted the bill) and Sen. Mike Fair respectively, who say the bill will preempt violations of a person’s constitutional rights resulting from the application of foreign law.
Legislators and other proponents of the bill say America has unique values of liberty which do not exist in foreign legal systems. Yet foreign laws are increasingly finding their way into U.S. court cases, particularly in the area of family law, involving divorce and child custody where, for instance, Islamic Shariah Law has been invoked in several U.S. state.
According to Christopher Holton with the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Security Policy (CSP), “There are numerous examples in dozens of states in which parties to such a dispute attempted to invoke Shariah.”
Obama Regime Grants Another 500 ObamaCare Waivers, Triple the Original Number…

The number of SEIU locals who’ve received waivers now up to five (along with a boatload of other unions).
(The Hill)- A week after Republicans announced plans to investigate waivers granted to organizations for healthcare reform provisions, President Obama’s health department made public new waivers for more than more than 500 groups.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is granting temporary waivers to organizations that would not be able to meet the reform law’s new requirement for annual coverage limits.
As of last week, HHS had granted waivers to 222 organizations covering 1.5 million individuals. Though the number of groups receiving waivers has now more than tripled, the number of individuals covered by the waivers increased just 600,000 to 2.1 million.
Gay Activists Offended by New Ground Zero Mosque Imam’s Views On Homosexuality…

LOL! Clueless dhimmi liberals. Embrace diversity!…
(NY 1) — A fight over the planned Islamic community center in Lower Manhattan centers around its location of being two blocks from the World Trade Center site.
But now the controversy is broadening as some gay advocates are airing concerns about the new imam who’s joined the project.
In a lecture Imam Abdallah Adhami sells on the Internet, he offers the following explanation for the existence of homosexuality:
“An enormously, overwhelming percentage of people struggle with homosexual feeling because of some form of violent emotional or sexual abuse at some point in their life. Again, not necessarily in their childhood….A small, tiny percentage of people are born with a natural inclination they cannot explain. You find this in the animal kingdom on some level as well.”
For gay rights advocates, the words are unacceptable.
“They are destructive. They play into old, worn-out stereotypes that somehow there is an illness to being gay,” said Gay City News Editor Paul Schindler.
Adhami joined the center known as Park51 as a senior advisor earlier this month. A spokesman for the project declined to make him available for an interview and would not comment for NY1′s story.
Schindler says that unless Imam Adhami is willing to clarify or change his views, Park51′s ability to welcome everyone will be compromised beyond repair.
“It’s a hostile message and one that I think attacks the dignity of gay people,” Schindler said.
Harry Reid (D-Oink Oink) Vows to Defy Obama’s Pledge to Veto Earmarks…

Thanks Harry, now I have to side with Obama (which makes me violently ill).
(ABC News)- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told ABC News that earmarks will return to Capitol Hill despite President Obama’s vow in last night’s State of the Union to veto any spending bill that includes them.
In an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, Reid launched a vigorous defense of pork, the pet projects that members of Congress insert into bills to benefit their home states.
“I think it’s taking power away from the legislative branch of government and giving it to the executive branch of government,” Reid said of the president’s plan. “The executive branch of government is powerful enough and I think that I know more about what Nevada needs than some bureaucrat down on K Street.”
“So you think the president is wrong about this?” Karl asked.
“Without any question,” Reid replied.
“I understand it’s great for an applause line, but it’s really not solving anything to do with the deficit. It’s only for show.”
“So you’re saying that earmarks will be back?” said Karl.
“Of course they’ll be back,” said Reid.
Rep. Jim Moran (D-Morally Superior): GOP Won Midterm Elections Because “People Don’t Want to be Governed by an African-American”
What a stunningly ignorant thing to say. Note: He said this during an interview with an Arabic channel so you have to listen closely because of the translator.
“It [the Republican successes in the 2010 elections] happened for the same reason the Civil War happened in the United States. It happened because the Southern states, the slaveholding states, didn’t want to see a president who was opposed to slavery.
“In this case, I believe, a lot of people in the United States don’t want to be governed by an African-Amerian, particularly one who is liberal, who wants to spend money and who wants to reach out to include everyone in our society….”

San Fran Lawmaker Refuses to Say Pledge of Allegiance…
But whatever you do, don’t question her patriotism.
All the voices of the members of San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors can be heard opening meetings with the Pledge of Allegiance – all but one.
Newly elected Supervisor Jane Kim stands with her colleagues, but does not speak the words. Nor does she place her right hand over her heart during the recitation. She is the only one of the 11-member board who doesn’t say the pledge.
Kim’s objection to the pledge, she says, is that the ideals it speaks of are not reality, specifically its conclusion, which says “with liberty and justice for all.” Kim says the nation is just not there yet.
“I don’t believe we are a nation with liberty and justice for all — yet,” Kim told The San Francisco Examiner on Tuesday. “So a lot of my work is motivated by wanting to be a part of achieving that ideal.”
Kim said the question of whether she should recite the pledge is something she’s thought about since high school. “It’s a very personal decision for me,” said Kim, who represents District 6.
District 8 Supervisor Scott Wiener, who sits next to Kim during the meetings, doesn’t have any problem with Kim’s silence. “To me, it’s a way about reminding myself about our country and the liberties and democracy that we enjoy,” he said. “But there are many, many ways of reminding ourselves of why we love our country.”
Kim says her refusal to say the pledge should in no way be a judgment of her patriotism. “I think I am very loyal the country,” she said. “I’ve expressed my patriotism through my years of doing organizing work, being a civil-rights lawyer and being a public servant now.”
The act of saying the pledge is part of the Board of Supervisors Rules of Order: “The President shall lead the Board and the audience in the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.” There is no rule about whether members actually have to say it. Not reciting it is considered one’s right to freedom of speech.

Marvel Drops the “America” From “Captain America”…

This disgusts me to no end.
How do you sell a movie called “Captain America” to an overseas market? In South Korea, Russia and the Ukraine, apparently, the answer is you don’t even try.
The film “Captain America: The First Avenger” will have its title truncated to, simply, “The First Avenger” in those three overseas markets, according to Marvel Studios insiders. The choice was made by Marvel, Paramount Pictures’ international team and distributors in those three countries based on market research results. Those involved in the decision are being careful to frame the move as a matter of brand management and consumer awareness and not as a decision tilted by cultural or political winds
In private, Marvel insiders said that early on in the project’s planning there was talk that the title might need to be changed in numerous international markets but that there was a ”pleasant surprise” — the brand recognition of the comic-book superhero was so strong that it overrode those considerations in many places. That was not the case in Russia, South Korea and the Ukraine.
It’s On: Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Mecca) Attacks Allen West (R-Infidel) Over His Comments on Islam…

Time to rumble.
Tea-Party backed Congressman Allen West, R.-Fla., has stirred a bees nest with negative comments about Islam. West, appearing on the “Shalom Show,” told producer Richard Peritz that Islam was the “antithesis” of America’s founding principles.
At the outset of the 11-minute interview, Peritz asked West how he was going to deal with members of Congress he disagreed with, especially Rep. Keith Ellison, D.-Minn., who is a Muslim.
“Well I think it’s most important that I stand upon the principles [of the] people that elected me to go to Washington, D.C., and represent them on Capitol Hill,” West responded. “So that when you run into someone that is counter, or someone that really does represent the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established, you’ve got to be able to defeat them intellectually in debate and discourse, and you just have to be able to challenge each and every one of their assertions very wisely and very forthright.”
According to various media reports, Ellison released a response to West’s comments; saying he was surprised as West had never expressed those views to him directly. Ellison disagreed with West’s assertion that his religion precluded him from representing the principles of America.
“Contrary to the views expressed by Congressman West, I work to represent the highest ideals of our great nation – ideals like freedom of worship and respect for all faiths, equal protection under the law as well as a civil and open public discourse,” Ellison said.
“Americans across the country want their public servants to reject the toxic and corrosive chatter that yields more heat than light,” he continued. “I hope to have a productive and respectful dialogue with all of my colleagues, including Allen West.”
Dem Rep. Rips J Street For Urging Obama Not to Veto U.N. Resolution Condemning Israel…

Anyone else remember when J Street was referred to as a “pro-Israel lobby” then it was shown they were being funded by George Soros after they repeatedly denied it?
(Fox News)- A liberal Jewish congressman tore into the liberal Jewish lobbying firm J Street this week, saying the organization’s “brains have fallen out” after it urged the Obama administration not to veto a proposed U.N. resolution condemning Israel.
Rep. Gary Ackerman, D-N.Y., effectively cut ties with J Street, a group that raised campaign money for him last year, in a searing press release Tuesday. The tipping point was the group’s call for the administration to clear the way for a Palestinian-backed proposal at the U.N. Security Council condemning Israel’s settlement expansion.
“I’ve come to the conclusion that J-Street is not an organization with which I wish to be associated,” Ackerman said.
J Street bills itself as the voice for “pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans,” and is often critical of Israel’s policies in the process. That hasn’t stopped Ackerman from associating with the group before, but the organization’s stance on the resolution triggered a harsh response.
“The decision to endorse the Palestinian and Arab effort to condemn Israel in the U.N. Security Council is not the choice of a concerned friend trying to help. It is rather the befuddled choice of an organization so open-minded about what constitutes support for Israel that its brains have fallen out,” he said. “America really does need a smart, credible, politically active organization that is as aggressively pro-peace as it is pro-Israel. Unfortunately, J-Street ain’t it.”
Caveman Ex-Congressman Alan Grayson’s Shady Lawsuit Tossed Out of Court…

This is how Grayson became one of the richest members of Congress, shady lawsuits that make only the lawyers rich, the “victims” (if there are any) get pennies on the dollar.
(Washington Examiner)- Former Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., did not disappear after losing his seat in Congress. The most obnoxious former member of the House — who went down smearing his opponent and asserting that Republicans want sick people to die — now has more spare time for his profession of filing frivolous lawsuits. In this case, he sued AT&T on the grounds that the unused balances on its calling cards sold in the District of Columbia should be forfeited to the D.C. government as abandoned property. D.C.’s highest court has tossed the suit.
The D.C. Court of Appeals ruled Friday that two plaintiffs who hoped to bring claims under the Consumer Protection Procedures Act did not have reason to do so. One of those plaintiffs was former U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, who called himself a “whistleblower” when he sued AT&T over unused balances on calling cards. The court called Grayson’s complaint “legally insufficient”…
“(Grayson) has identified no statement or practice in his amended complaint made or employed by any of the defendants which directly or through reasonable inference shows that the defendants knew that consumers would not receive substantial benefits from their calling cards,” Judge Inez Reid wrote.
“Other than conclusory allegations pertaining to vulnerable members of the District’s population – the elderly and the disabled – Mr. Grayson’s complaint is devoid of allegations demonstrating even by innuendo that defendants have issued calling cards in the District that enable them to take advantage of these segments of the population.”
Had he won the case, Grayson would have been eligible for attorneys’ fees.

Obama: Hey, You Know Who Would Make a Great Chief of Staff to Replace Rahm? Me!…

Wow, this man’s ego knows no limits.
Via NY Mag
…In the third of Rouse’s baskets was the failure to use Obama’s gifts as a communicator to full effect. He was overexposed. He was in the weeds. The thread got lost. “With these big legislative fights, he was almost like a prime minister or negotiator-in-chief,” says the same official. “The price for that was, we lost the vision, the inspiration.”
Though Obama grasped this last critique, he dismissed the charges of aloofness and insularity. When business complained that he was hostile, he cited all the times he had invited CEOs to the White House. When donors moaned about the fact that at the first year’s Christmas parties, he had done away with the tradition of taking pictures with the guests, Obama scoffed, “Big deal, they’ve all got pictures of me before.”
Emanuel’s ad-hocracy, meanwhile, didn’t faze Obama. The president’s friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett sometimes pointed out that not only had he never managed an operation, he’d never really had a nine-to-five job in his life. Obama didn’t know what he didn’t know, yet his self-confidence was so stratospheric that once, in the context of thinking about Emanuel’s replacement, he remarked in all seriousness, “You know, I’d make a good chief of staff.”
Those overhearing the comment somehow managed to suppress their laughter.
