House Republicans Schedule Vote For Next Week on Bill Demanding UN Refund American Money…

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Republicans are eyeing reclaiming hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. contributions to the United Nations in a vote slated for next week.
The move is the latest in a series of votes scheduled by GOP leaders, based on polling of people who visit a “YouCut” website they created last year.
Options include seeking a refund of unused U.S. contributions to U.N. peacekeeping activities, demanding return of U.S. overpayments into a fund that reimburses U.S. employees for taxes paid on their U.N. salaries, or prohibiting the government from giving economic aid to countries that hold large amounts of U.S. debt.
The potential savings range from $46 million to $180 million, a drop in the bucket when measured against the nation’s projected $1.5 trillion deficit.

If they don’t pay it back…use the Kelo option. Condemn the site and sell it to some developer to build a mall. That would contribute tax dollars instead of suck them up for nothing.
seems like more useless empty gestures. It’s chances of passing both houses and being signed by the president are 0 and even if it did pass the impact on the deficit is negligible. So yeah its a shiny thing to wave at their base, nothing more.

Agreed, it’s a symbolic gesture, going nowhere, but it gets them in the habit..
