This is all a ploy to neuter Palin’s momentum and popularity! They are scared to death of HER! The media have been given their marching orders, and they started this nonsense (Reagan comparison) right after the first of the year. It would be laughable, if it weren’t so sad!

The line that Obama is “like Reagan” is related to the line that Obama and his supporters pushed when Scott Brown was elected as a rebuke to Obamacare.
Leaving aside Brown’s dismal performance since his election, the event of his election was seen as a sharp and direct rebuke to Obama’s healthcare initiative—but he and his supporters spent much time claiming that “the discontent that elected Scott Brown was the same discontent that elected Obama.” This expressed the Left’s belief that it owns “discontent,” and that “discontent” is not about anything or based in particular causes, but rather a free-floating, unattached emotion for the Left to capture and harness for its agenda. Under this view of the world, the discontent that resulted in Brown’s election was merely some of the Left’s “property” that got away. This is similar to the statements following the November election that claimed the results were due merely to Obama & Co. “failing to communicate” their program.
To people who believe the above, Obama is “like Reagan,” because they believe that they “are” the people. They do not understand that Reagan’s strength was in articulating the actual beliefs of the people, but see him entirely as a creature of “communication.” This is partly because they are so convinced that Reagan’s articulated beliefs and agenda were wrong that they cannot conceive of his actually meaning what he said—nor of his supporters actually believing what he articulated. They believe that Obama is likewise a “great communicator” who has simply failed to communicate as well as expected, and thereby failed to rally the support of the malleable, waiting-to-be-led people—who have no opinions of their own—in the direction that they “should” go.

I became an adult during the Reagan years, and I worked in the media – as a rock disc jockey, not a journalist – but I remember well what these scumbags used to say about Reagan at the time. These POS “journalists” trying to say now how “wonderful” Reagan was have no memory of the horrible things they said, no shame, and no honor whatsoever.
It’s funny, in my very first radio job (I was 14, small religious station), at the station there was a whole set of Reagan tapes, from the years he did those short, two or three minute for-broadcast speeches (representing the Conservative view), and at the time I wondered if I should snatch them up, maybe they’d be “valuable” someday? So I asked the station owner and he said “NO! These are MINE!!”
I’ve often wondered if he kept them? And I wonder if they would be valuable?

I don’t know about “pallsy”, but he was the President of the Screen Actors Guild from 1947-1952, and again in 1959. He was first elected as a board member of the SAG (as an alternate) in 1941. Of course, he was a member of the SAG since he started his acting career in 1937.
So you can’t say he had nothing to do with unions. Remember that originally, Reagan was a Democrat.
Having said all that, he is undoubtedly, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest president this country has ever had. Certainly the greatest in my lifetime.

Maybe likening Obama to Ronald Reagan would be the same as likening Helen Thomas or Nancy Pelosi to Sarah Palin.
Obama’s (and the media’s) desperate attempt to align himself with someone so obviously polar-opposite as Reagan, for political gain, is ludicrous. To believe that one can actually import someone elses’ popularity and compatibility with the American people and their values, into one’s own public persona, while blatantly obfuscating one’s fundamental differences with the average voter, is wishful thinking at the very least, and FRAUDULENT AND DELUSIONAL at face value.
Acting as if one’s agenda is mainstream, and any opposing view is caused by uneducated critic’s who just don’t understand you, is to assume that the public is naive, maybe even blind.
Attempting to convince average Americans that “If they loved Reagan, they will like Obama, too” is a huge gamble for the LEFT. We all know that “you can fool all of the people, some of the time–and, some of the people, all of the time–but, you can’t fool all of the people, all of the time, even if you are OBAMA.
