President of Government Workers Union Says Those Supporting Federal Pay Cuts Are “Mentally Retarded”…
Nothing worse than government unions, whose sole purpose is to bleed the American taxpayer dry.
On February 8th members of the American Federation of Government Employees picketed outside the Capitol demanding more taxpayer dollars for their already bloated salary and benefits. We caught up with AFGE President John Gage who told us those who say federal pay should be cut are “mentally retarded”.

John Gage’s comment is derogatory toward those with mental challenges, and insulting to those in high/mid-level government positions. (Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was planning to try again to get a 5% , across-the-board pay cut for Congress, before she was shot– and gave several interviews regarding that subject, and Sarah Palin took a pay cut as soon as she was elected, to name a few people who are realists.) Some people are smart enough to see and realize that one can’t keep bankrupting the country to benefit oneself, in the name of “higher intelligence”! That is a NO-BRAINER!

I am so sick of unions holding hard-working American’s hostage! Today’s unions are a severely bastardized version of their original intent. Unions are now only concerned with getting more for the people who do less. They create hostile working environments by protecting those who don’t deserve protection. I do not understand why the Federal government allows unionized employees. The government has every resource available to its employees who feel they are not being fairly treated. The unions used to focus on the word “Fair”, but no longer. “Fair” has been replaced with “Greed”. Unions and greed are two things that are destroying capitalism and stifling free enterprise.
Yesterday, I was looking out the window from 40-odd floors up in NY City and a guy with whom I work (ex-beat cop) were chatting about all the industry that is gone from the Hudson River. We looked down the waterfront on both the NJ and NY sides and remarked where businesses used to be. Virtually all disappeared due to union greed. Some to environmental nutcases and some to government overregulation, but the dockworkers union and a few others really did a number. I hope they are happy.

Been there. Done that.
It just seems to me, that it is so easy to lull people away from worry and a sense of urgency, when change happens slowly, over time. People learn how to adapt and accept, and settle — rather than make changes when things start going south. Look how far unions have morphed, over the past several decades. Just like our government, slowly but surely taking a little more, and a little more, and now, the people are waking up, and trying to take back control. But, the cancer has spread, and it is worse than we ever imagined, and no matter how hard we try, it is going to take time and commitment beyond the norm, to make things better. Neutering the Unions is one battle to be fought, and it will be a war, US against THEM, to the end, IMO.
So, where are all the DemoRats and their media allies now with their “civil discourse” whining? It’s just fine, I guess, for a union bum to go on a rant about those who oppose him being retards? Really civil, that.
