Iran: Mullah Regime Fires Tear Gas at Anti-Government Protesters, Major Clashes Reported in Tehran…

Sorry guys, Obama only supports Islamist-infested uprisings.

(BBC) — Iranian police have fired tear gas at opposition supporters participating in a rally in the centre of the capital, Tehran, called in solidarity with the popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia.

A BBC producer, who was affected by the gas, said there had been severe clashes and described a scene of “total chaos”.

There were also reports of protests in the cities of Isfahan and Shiraz.

Earlier, the police placed opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi under house arrest, according to his website.

It said the move was intended to prevent the former prime minister attending the march in Tehran, which the authorities had prohibited. The road leading to Mr Mousavi’s house was also blocked by police vans.

Fellow opposition leader Mehdi Karroubi a former Speaker of parliament and senior cleric, is also reportedly under de facto house arrest.

Update: Video added, protesters are yelling “death to dictators.”

Update II: Protesters catch a regime goon from the Basij militia. Severe beat-down ensues.

If there is any nation that absolutely needs to be rid of the Islamists, it’s Iran. Unfortunately, the Iranian government and military isn’t afraid to use force.

President Obastard will keep his piehole shut unless the iranian government is replaced by an secular pro-israeli government.

Obama’s silence and reluctance to speak up for the Iranian people speaks volumes. The only revolts he’s OK with are the ones directed at allies of the US. The ones against his Islamist fellow travellers can go to hell.

God bless (and help) the Iranian people.

    Wow, that’s big agitated crowd.

I was a little worried that the video might have been from 2009 and relabeled because it looked so familiar, but I looked up video taken from the same spot in ’09, and there’s no ladder or scaffolding going up to the minaret that appears in the video posted here. Today’s crowd seems more densely packed and more animated – at least at the moment the videos were taken.

You’d think this might get a little more media attention.

Obviously bigger, more well organized, and committed than the Egyptians. I feel sorry for them. At least they learned last time not to expect any help from the Obama regime. Good luck Iranians. Our thoughts are with you.

“Good luck Iranians. Our thoughts are with you.”

Unless of course there’s 1 guy holding a Che poster, then your popular protest for democratic reforms in a country where this would otherwise be great news is worthy of ridicule and dismissal.

forest: Yep, you would think this would get a more media attention. Sad.

Come on Iranian people!!! You can do it!!! If our leader is a fraud, rest assured that the majority of Americans are pulling for yous and praying you can put an end to the totalitarianism in your country. You are the Persians! You are the descendants of one of the greatest poets ever to grace the planet! Do it NOW!!!

Come, fill the cup, and in the fire of spring,
Your winter garment of repentance fling,
The bird of time has but a little way to flutter,
And the bird is on the wing!
