Obama Regime Official Urges Cable Companies to Carry Al-Jazeera…
How times have changed, remember when the Bush administration ripped Al-Jazeera for acting as al-Qaeda’s mouthpiece? Now we have a president who wants the same channel beamed into American homes.

Al-Jazeera is filled with anti-American propaganda. It is also awash in anti-Semitism. The material broadcast stokes terror and violence.
Why would the person who Barack Obama appointed to be the Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, Juliette Kayyem, advocate American cable companies carry the channel-a channel that cannot help but inflame tensions and anger and one that is not known for unbiased accuracy.

FOR THE past few weeks, a parallel plot line to the revolutions in the Arab world has been playing out in the media. With rare exceptions, the largest American cable and satellite providers simply do not provide viewers access to Al Jazeera English, the cousin to the powerful Qatar-based world news network. AJE has launched a full-fledged campaign – including advertisements quoting, of all people, major US news figures – to convince cable carriers to open their programming. But most have declined: Burlington, Vt., is the closest city to Boston where viewers can see the network on television.
AJE’s battle with the cable carriers is major news in the Middle East. Not carrying the network sends a message to the Arab world about America’s willingness to accept information, unfiltered, from the very region we spend so much time talking about. These television wars began not in Tunisia or Egypt, but in Iraq.
We have enough terror apologists in the media already without an entire station devoted to obscuring the truth being beamed into America’s homes.

If you think for a minute that what you hear on Al-Jazeera in English is what they are telling their viewers in Arabic, then I have some nice beachfront property for you in Arizona. You hear on Al-Jazeera just exactly what they want you to hear. You see on Al-Jazeera just exactly what they want you to see. And just so you don’t have to think about it too much, they tell you how to interpret what you see as well.
I guess our fearless leader must consider Al-Jazeera to be a “news organization”, not a propaganda arm of the Islamic world. This is interesting because he considers Fox news “entertainment”, and not a “real” news network.

What a closed mined article. we Americans have such a limited supply of objective news of the world. The media is controlled by less than 7 media organizations and they limit what we hear and learn about the WORLD.
God did not just create the United States. If you are afraid of another objective point of view, then the United States is not as strong and as vibrant as we think it is. and I happen to think it is. Al Jazeera will give a fresh education to our myopic prospective and will allow us to see what really goes on in all parts of the world. It is normal to be Ethnocentric, but in my opinion we Americans take it a step to far.

And not from the political pundits whose opinions you differ with although I dare you to compare any of their comments to Maher, Schultz, Matthews and Maddow, I mean specifics with FoxNews reporting on the news. I have to get news from overseas agencies and Fox to really find out what the MSM is not telling us.
As for Nabeel. Exactly how do “we Americans” take ethnocentricy too far. We created the greatest country in the world where everyone has an equal opportunity for succeeding and then invited immigrants from all over the world to come here and share that view. We all, as Americans of every color an creed in the military and at home supported this country through WWII and helped defeat German socialism, bigotry and the Jewish holocaust. What makes you think we need to watch Al-J to learn about these same subjects? Yes – I’m proud to be an American and as the saying goes “America – love it or leave it”. If that’s ethnocentric then toooooooo bad. We may have problems in this country but at least we have the ideals of the Constituion to aspire to and we are working on it.
