FBI: 100% Chance of WMD Attack on American Soil…
If Islamists do it, we carpet-bomb Mecca. No questions asked.
The probability that the U.S. will be hit with a weapons of mass destruction attack at some point is 100 percent, Dr. Vahid Majidi, the FBI’s assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate, tells Newsmax.
Such an attack could be launched by foreign terrorists, lone wolves who are terrorists, or even by criminal elements, Majidi says. It would most likely employ chemical, biological, or radiological weapons rather than a nuclear device.
As it is, Majidi says, American intelligence picks up hundreds of reports each year of foreign terrorists obtaining WMD. When American forces invaded Afghanistan, they found that al-Qaida was working on what Majidi calls a “nascent” weapons of mass destruction effort involving chemical and biological weapons.
In every other case so far, the reports of foreign terrorists obtaining WMD have turned out to be unfounded. However, Majidi’s directorate within the FBI investigates more than a dozen cases in the U.S. each year where there was intent to use WMD.
Even a WMD attack that does not kill a great number of people would have a crushing psychological impact.
“A singular lone wolf individual can do things in the dark of the night with access to a laboratory with low quantities of material and could hurt a few people but create a devastating effect on the American psyche,” Majidi says.

Befor he came to FBI – Doctor Vahid Majidi, was Chief Science Advisor for the Department of Justice (DOJ) in February 2003. Dr. Majidi was responsible for coordinating science and technology policy among the Department’s component agencies and with state and local law enforcement entities. He also serves as a Department liaison to the scientific community.
Dr. Majidi earned his BS degree in chemistry from Eastern Michigan University and his PhD degree from Wayne State University. After his graduate work, Dr. Majidi spent two years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Texas (Austin). Dr. Majidi was also the Group Leader for Analytical Chemistry Sciences Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory LANL. This Group was responsible for evaluating biological and environmental samples to ensure that LANL was compliant with all legal requirements established by EPA, New Mexico Environmental Department, and OSHA.
Dr. Majidi was a tenured associate professor at the University of Kentucky where he conducted research on laser-based techniques, gas phase chemistry, and solid substrates from 1989-1996.

For years U.S. policy was a WMD attack, whether bio, chem, or nuc WOULD result in a nuclear response.
Obama is the first POTUS to alter that policy in a public statement. To say both that a nuclear response is not guaranteed, and that we could absorb such an attack.

While we know Obama would never ever retaliate, I wonder what the result of a theoretical nuking of Mecca would be. For a “religion” so symbol-driven, to have their holiest place obliterated, could it spell the beginning of the end for Islam? Wouldn’t Muslims everywhere finally start to doubt the “greatness” of Allah and their side? Wouldn’t they start getting discouraged when thousands (still willing to believe in the power of Allah over science) kept dying from radiation poisoning trying to make the Hajj?

Wow, whthfk. Your post on Majidi is very disturbing. There are too many Muslims in US security – DHS, FBI, CIA. This has been going on for a long time. I once read that this infiltration was behind the FBI not hiring Arabic-speaking Jews as translators who would be loyal to US interests and not intentionally mis-translate documents as Arab translators often do.
Blow up Mecca? That would be a terrible hurt for Obama, not to mention Jeremiah Wright. Didn’t I read somewhere that Wright WAS a muslim at one time?? Talk about Taqqiah.

Vahid Majidi could be Baha’i – we had a number of them come to the USA during and after the fall of the Shah. I checked the FBI site also, and his bio doesn’t indicate religion.
