NPR Issues Public Thank You to Obama for Proposing Increase in Taxpayer Funding in New Budget…

I suppose we shouldn’t be all that surprised Obama has the balls to propose an increase in NPR funding in the face of repeated GOP attempts at defunding the DNC’s propaganda arm.

(Washington Examiner) — As some Republicans on Capitol Hill try to cut, or even eliminate, its government funding, National Public Radio has sent a public thank-you to the Obama administration for proposing an increase in taxpayer funding for public radio.

“Public broadcasting received a vote of confidence today from the Obama Administration,” NPR said in a statement Monday. “The President’s FY 2012 budget submission to Congress included $451 million for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) for the two year advance appropriation for FY 2014, an increase of $6 million over FY 2013 funding.”

Vivian Schiller, the head of NPR — and focus of much controversy over the firing last year of commentator Juan Williams — released a statement saying she is “grateful to the Obama Administration for recognizing the importance of public radio to the life of communities across the nation.”

“At a time when our country is confronting many difficult challenges,” Schiller said, “public broadcasting is providing an essential service by informing and educating 170 million Americans every month. This mission is more relevant than ever.”

I stopped listening to NPR years ago when it became apparent that every program could be called “We hate Bush”.

NPR and the “Arts” have no busuness getting public funding, especially when they promoite a certain political position or lifestyle that is counter to the public.

If we fund NPR, we should also fund Rush.

Why should we fund a druggie.

We need a medium of the truth, like NPR, to counterbalance the real propaganda and outright lies of FOX.

If you want to be entertained, watch FOX, MSNBC, or CNN. If you want real news and analysis, watch LinkTV or FreeSpeechTV.

We need a ‘medium of the troof-i-ness’ aka propaganda from the loony leftist @ NPR. DEFUND NPR and kick the UN out!

It is very difficult for the liberal media to earn its way in the private market, frankly because very few listen or watch them. Thus the tax payers are forced to support the liberal media as opposed to the rightwing and conservative media .

Remember Air America (they always sound so patriotic) ,Well that leftwing station simply could not draw an audience or any company that wanted to put on commercials. Air America survived on the air for a while with money from leftwing philanthropists. Even Soros couldn’t put up funding to keep them a float.

Make these liberals stand on their own two feet like the right does, let’s keep an eye on the GOP Congress to make sure they cut the funding out of Obama’s proposal, after all, for all intent and purposes it is his own personal propaganda media.

Here is more proof that the communist moslim USURPER is a communist anti-AMERICAN. The debt is tremendous and instead of CUTTING the NPR (a worthless LEECH of taxpayer money), the USURPER increases the NPR budget.

I listen to my local NPR station every day. They frequently have some very good stories of a non-political nature. But I don’t give them a dime. Joan Kroc bequeathed $200 million to CPB a few years ago–have they spent that already? My local station recently reported record donations during their last fund drive. NPR demographics skew to higher-than-average income levels than other broadcast outlets. My local station accepts advertising in the form of 10 sec. promos for local businesses, aired throughout the day. Sesame Street, Inc. rakes in millions from merchandising. Elmo, anyone? And they’re telling me that they can’t make it on their own??
