Palin Tells Wisconsin “Union Brothers and Sisters” That “Real Solidarity Means Everyone Being Willing to Sacrifice”…

Real leadership…

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Sarah Palin says union members protesting Wisconsin Republicans’ plan to help balance the state’s budget by cutting collective bargaining rights are taking up “the wrong fight at the wrong time.”

Palin weighed in on the debate in a Friday night posting on her Facebook page but didn’t indicate whether she would join weekend conservative counter-protests organized by groups including the Tea Party Patriots and Americans for Prosperity.

In the posting addressed to “union brothers and sisters,” Palin says Wisconsin taxpayers shouldn’t be asked to pay for benefits “that are not sustainable.”

She says “real solidarity means everyone being willing to sacrifice.”

She also points out that the union bosses are not helping the workers, only helping themselves. Good post. Here’s the link:

I don’t read what she said on Facebook. She will not get the nominee in 2012. She is polarizing.

Good for you Sarah. You are right again.. These Unions are selfish asshole they don’t care about the people of Wisconsin; they could careless about their Union members. This is all about them wielding their power of Government and making sure they have all the power and money they can steal from the taxpayers of Wisconsin.

You people should be pissed that they want to steal more of your hard earned tax dollars. Think they worry about the little people who have to pay their rent, heating bills and buy food for their children. Hell No. They only care about their bank accounts and the hell with the rest of you.
I have never seen such outrages wages for teachers before.

They can cut back and help out too or be out of a job. Screw them.. selfish assholes.
Take your kids out of the public school system and watch they scream and throw a fit when they lose their jobs.

Sarah once again you shine and show us you are a true natural leader.
we all have to cut back. the Unions get to opt out of everything the rest of America is forced to do.. I for one and sick and tried of the double standard ..
Obama and Unions get everything and we the people get a rock.

One of these days were going to start throwing those rocks back in the faces of these moochers.

Unions support unions supporting unions. Nothing more/nothing less. When I was in Colorado Springs, the city made a big deal about a firefighters memorial downtown; names of duty related lost firefighters, etc. Lotta fund raising, lotta fanfare. Come to find out it was a union member only memorial. I took pictures for my brother, a lifelong firefighter. He threw them away when he found out the sponsors refused to list any of the many names of non-union firefighters who had also lost their lives in the line of duty. Unions support unions supporting unions – a self-licking ice cream cone.

    m,

Anyone who stands up and speaks the truth in our current political climate is polarizing. These are desperate times, and we need uncommon valor and uncommon courage. Like her or not, Palin has both, in spades.

Teachers get paid a 12-month salary for working only 9 months…….

Anybody else get paid 100% for only working 75% of the year?????

Well, gotta say, Obummer doesn’t work even 75% of the year, does he? [And many congressmen/senators aren't there 75% of the actual work day, but get paid as if they are. Hmmmm.... Maybe their wages should be put on a par with those who work 8-5 hours days, you think?]

    I love you Sarah!

You are the voice of Americans fed up with these public sector union thugs and the head Thug-In-Chief!

Screw those teachers in WI who on average make $100,000 a year off the taxpayer.

I’m not sure of the unemployment rate in WI but I am sure there are many Wisconsinites who would trade place with those scumbags protesting and take half as much without complaining.

He has came to divide and the nation will never be the same.

And Kos is not polarizing? I am convinced that the last 2, make that 4 years have only served to reveal what has been a growing divide between the right and the left. The progressives are now out operating in the open after 30 years. I can’t see how the next election will be anything but polarizing regardless of who runs.

We need a straight shooter, someone who will tell the American people the truth, someone who will make those tough decisions to pull us back from the edge, someone who will use offensive, not defensive action to protect this country and especially someone who loves this country and its people and knows who our real allies are. In short, if another Reagan does not step forward within the next year, my vote goes to Palin/Bolton.

Somebody has to tell it like it is. If collecive bargaining is allowed to continue in these states with the big budget problems (all 50!) they’ll soon be bankrupt, just like the Federal govt…what then?

    Nobody gets paid anything?

It’s not like these teachers are in any way underpaid. Not in any way.

Having been a Union member in a private sector company for 35 years, our Union recognized the bottom line when dealing with the company. Even then we carried a lot of dead beat workers who survived in their positions due to seniority and not job performance.

Compared to Government union employees we were at the bottom of the barrel when it came to things like COLA,retirement, and health benefits.

The politicians were easy pickings for the Unions because most simply did not worry about the bottom line when it came to the people who put them in office, the tax payers. Irresponsible politicians created these greedy monsters by demonstrating no accountability in their jobs.

The government unions have too long become accustomed at getting their way with irresponsible political hacks, thus they have reached a point were they believe it is their right of passage to make unreasonable and unsustainable demands on the public sector .

Somewhere along the line government union employees began to forget that they were working for the tax payers of the state, and now they act as if the tax payers are working for them.

The tax payers are trying to send a message to these employee they employ that we simply cannot afford you anymore, it is as simple as that.

It was disgusting to see teachers using their students on their march against the State capital. One teacher said it was for the students– a blatant bald face lie of course, it was for the teachers pockets and had nothing to do with the students.

If the teachers and other government union employees don’t give, thousand will have to be laid off , does that help the students?
