Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush Become Honorary Chairmen of “National Institute for Civil Discourse”…
(CNN) — Former presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush will team up to serve as honorary chairmen of a new center created at the University of Arizona to advance the national conversation taking place about civility in political debate, university officials will announce Monday.
The creation of the institute comes in the aftermath of the January 8 shootings at a Tucson Safeway store where six people were killed and 13 hurt, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.)
Fred Duval, vice chairman of the Arizona Board of Regents and one of the originators of the ideas, said the National Institute for Civil Discourse will open in Tucson on Monday.
“This was going to happen somewhere, it ought to be here,” he said.
It will be a non-partisan center for debate, research, education and policy generation regarding civility in public discourse.
The idea came to Duval after he heard President Barack Obama’s speech in Tucson, Duval said. Giffords’ road to recovery
“A group of us got together that night after President Obama’s speech and talked about things,” he said. “President Clinton got involved and it took off.”

Ya know, I know Bill Clinton is not popular on this blog, but I voted for him, both times, I also voted for Reagan both times. My high opinion of Reagan has stayed the same, but for Bill Clinton, not anymore.
Bill Clinton was called a racist for using “fairytale” to describe Obama, Mechelle Obama said “she wanted to claw out Bill Clinton’s eyes” (no I am not joking, the LSM covered this up, but look online, the proof of that interview is there) and yet Clinton appears go back to this loser Obama after the crap Obama did to Hillary in 2008.
Apparently Bill Clinton still thinks he is president, and frankly now to be on this “Civility” board is pure crap. I can’t believe I am defending GWB, but where the heck was Clinton when the vileness was against GWB? The only reason I can see this from a different perspective than I did 3 years ago is because I saw Hillary subjected to these alinsky tactics, she was treated as a conservative was, and once she gave up in the primaries, all was forgiven but the scummy Obots and the new person to be subjected to this crap was Palin.
I never saw George H Bush as a conservative, I do like the man and respect him, but I don’t see him as a constitional conservative. But to be on this “civility” board and lecture americans is completely irrelevant to most americans.
