Wisconsin Doctor Defends Handing out Sick Notes to Teachers, Claims They Really Were Ill…

This video of Andrew Breitbart being given a sick note begs to differ:

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Doctors who wrote medical notes over the weekend excusing protesters at the Wisconsin Capitol from work are getting slammed with angry phone calls and profane e-mails from people telling them they deserve to be thrown in jail, one doctor said Sunday.

The physicians wore lab coats Saturday as they stood on a street corner and offered medical notes to the tens of thousands of protesters who paraded past them. The protesters were rallying against a Republican-backed state bill that would eliminate collective bargaining rights for most state workers.

One of the doctors was Lou Sanner, 59, who practices family medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Sanner said he gave out hundreds of notes and that many protesters with whom he spoke seemed to be suffering from stress.

“Some people think it’s a nod-and-a-wink thing but it’s not,” he told The Associated Press on Sunday. “One of the biggest stresses in life is the threat of loss of income, loss of job, loss of health insurance. People have actually been getting ill from this, or they can’t sleep.”

“threat of loss of income” ?
    “loss of job” ?

    this is self imposed!

    WTF GO TO WORK ASSHOLES!

So let me get this straight, you’re too sick to teach in the classroom, but you’re not too sick to stand out in the cold all day, be angry and shout obscenities.
Only a liberal can rationalize like this.

Someone’s medical license needs to be pulled for fraudulent behavior.

    @MADgirl91: perfect point!

My question is simple. How did the teachers bring the students to the protest w/o permission slips? (this was back last wed)

Teachers using their students as pawns, and doctors passing out excuse slips
for anxiety. Do these folks never take a course in ethics? They both need to have
any licenses they possess suspended until they do. Oh, and if you take my child to one of these protest events without my permission, you are looking at a suit against you and the school district.

If they are ill, what are they doing out in the streets? Why are they not home in bed?

The firing starts with every person who submitted a fraudulent sick note. Then video tapes are reviewed for the rest of the folks who claim they were “sick” and they too are fired! Then yes, the doctors who blatently handed out fraudulent notes have their medical license revoked by the state of Wisconsin.

You think the rest of them will get the idea? Then let the STRESS begin!!!!!!

They can face the stress of 0ver 20% of real Americans who now do not work!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the teachers are this ethical in their life, what are they passing on to the children they are in charge of on our dollar?

If liberalism is a mental disorder (and it is), and a mental disorder is an “Illness”, then she does have a point.

Is it ethical for medical doctors to play psychologists on TV?

Lou Sanner – Strip his liscense to practice.

You have to admire the ability of Democrats to rationalize their criminality.

Nope, no admiration for how far these liberals will go to justify their sick, demented and twisted sense of reality. It’s simply pathetic really. They act like little children who have to be told what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. They depend on “teh gub-mint” to support and take care of them from cradle to grave as they are not capable of making the choices one faces in everyday living.

Strip the license to practice medicine from these so called doctors that give fake notes to fake teachers faking an illness.

Greg Jarret on Fox this weekend reported on this as it was happening. He is a lawyer on tv and he said if this is true and these doctors did this; he said it is fraud and they can be stripped of their licenses.

  16. kansas says:

In my state it takes an act of God to get rid of doctors who are proven to have killed people with fraudulent prescriptions. A few phony work excuses is going nowhere.

  17. malp1022 says:

They committed fraud so therefore should lose their license

I wonder, do children who pass a fake sick note to their teacher and then get caught at it, do they get suspended? I tried this in the late 50′s and got caught, I didn’t get suspended but the Priest kicked my ass real good.
What respest those teachers and doctors had, has been lost forever. They all act like a bunch of union thugs and leave their students hanging in the breeze. And those cowardly senators camping out in Rockford or places unknown should be recalled ASAP. The fine citizens of Wisconsin deserve better than this.

  20. Lurvleymomma says:

Fine them and revoke their licenses.

You all don’t really believe this do you? Have any of you verified this through an unbiased source? I’m a conservative, but I can’t be bought and sold by every made- up video. Is this person really a physician? Are those “real” notes. I don’t want the dems to have another excuse to vilify us if this turns out to be false. I was so pissed about the death panel lies. If we’re going to win we have to do it ethically!

If these Docs were not working FOR the UNiversity that they are employed under then they are NOT covered by malpractice and you can’t practice usually without malpractice also, If they want to have these encounters consider valid physician patient relationships and visits Then doing it on TV as many were, where you can hear the converstaion is a HIPPA violation.

And providinig a note for somatic complaints without an xam is bad medicine, one lady said her legs were going numb etc. If they are that stressed out are they suicidal?? homicidal?? no basic psych questions addressed. So if they want to have these encounters legitimized they all of the above is an issue. if they were bogus notes then that’s an ethical and legal issue SO either way they are pretty much screwed I would think.

You’ll end up with a lot more of these type of docs you’ll get in socialized medicine.
