Herman Cain Wins Tea Party Straw Poll…

Momentum building for Cain?

(The Hill) — Former pizza executive Herman Cain won on Sunday a 2012 presidential straw poll of attendees of a Tea Party conference in Arizona.

Cain won 22 percent of the vote in a straw poll of in-person attendees at the American Policy Summit, the first-ever conference organized by Tea Party Patriots, one of the larger umbrella organizations for Tea Party activists.

Texas Rep. Ron Paul (R), meanwhile, won nearly 50 percent of the votes cast by 2,300 online straw poll participants.

The win is a minor coup for Cain, the long-shot presidential candidate who’s the only one to have actually formed an exploratory committee so far. Behind Cain amongst in-person attendees were former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) at 16 percent and Paul, at 15 percent. All three of them spoke at the convention.

“Mr. Cain and Rep. Paul positions resonated with Tea Party Patriots this weekend and the straw poll indicates the enthusiasm for these strong conservatives,” said Mark Meckler, national coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, in a statement.

Please, please, please, no Ron Paul. That’s worse than Newt. And his rabid fans would just turn everyone off.

Palin/Bolton/West/Cain. I’d like to see Paul Ryan and Pence or maybe DeMint run in 2016.

Is that a “Teddy Roosevelt” smile?

Let’s see, the slogan would be, “A Godfather’s Pizza on every table, and …” I’m not sure what goes with that. But I am sure that having a president who understands business and free markets would be infinitely better than the bad joke that we have in the White House.

Heck West/Cain or the other way around…military and business experience.

    An unbeatable combo.

Cain is the man. I’ve been telling everyone I know about him for about 6 months. He sold me while sub hosting on Neil Boortz radio show. He is awesome. Common sense galore and not afraid to speak his mind–if he doesn’t know something–he even admits it. WTF is that today. Pure class in every way.

Now since Allen West would consider the VP slot — wouldn’t it be an awesome ticket to have Cain and West running together for 2012?

I still like the idea of John Bolton for 2012 as an alternative possibitlity too….

  14. Zionmobile says:
    February 27, 2011 at 7:14 pm

But i thought the tea party was filled with racist!!!

West/Cain for sure. Hate to say this but I don’t think Palin could pull off a victory.

  15. Meddler says:
    February 27, 2011 at 7:16 pm

Not to mention. Herman would literally expose Oblabla as the mental midget he is in a debate. Now that would be great television.

Him and Bolton/Perfect with Palin for the head of Dept of Energy It would be a relief to have a Cheif Executive who actually has CEO expereience, Bolton for foreign policy and Palin would have drilling permits issued in a week and we could tell the Opecs F_U

If he’s the nominee, go Herman cain!!

    Only “NEARLY FIFTY PERCENT”?

The kids are slipping up. They usually push it to 130%, at least.

  23. m says:

Herman Cain will not get the nominee in 2012. The problem is the Tea Party. They are not all Republicans. Some of them are member of Democratic, Republican, and Independent parties. Tea Party is a movement party. I am not member of the Tea Party. I am a Republican conservative. It is going to be someone else will get the nominee of the Republican Party because we need someone with skills, experience and the leadership plus are both social and fiscal conservative just like former the late Pres. Reagan. It won’t be Palin, Romney, Huckabee, Trump, Cain, Daniels, Paul, Gingrich, Rudy, Huntsman, Santorum, and Barbour. Beside Thune and Pence has dropped out, who is next?

If we got Cain/West (or vice-versa) to win 2012, can you just imagine the mass liberal head-explosion that would take place if the Tea Party elected not one, but TWO, blacks for the highest offices in the country? And all the left would have is President Punchline.

  28. maraz says:
    February 27, 2011 at 9:09 pm

    In reference to SkySphere comment…

I had the same thought and would love to get the popcorn while they rationalize about the racist tea partiers on that one… makes me laugh even thinking about it…

To quote the MSM… it would be HISTORIC…

  29. Shadowblitz70 says:
    February 27, 2011 at 9:17 pm

Im TOTALLY kidding. I hate those douchebags. If they were elected Id move to China.

Cain / Palin would be kick ass, but I actually hope not. *Ill explain
Cain / Pawlenty might not be too bad. I mainly want Cain for 1. His all american, great thinking, and 2. Having a black man with REAL values going against Obama would be dynamite.

I dont want Palin b/c shes too tarnished, sad to say. Love her to pieces, but the msm has been successful in ruining her with too many people. Too much is at stake for us to gamble. We need a powerful, winning ticket, and we need it yesterday.

Cain has ZERO qualifications to be president. He’s never run a city, never run a state, never had any experience running a massive government entity.

The guy couldn’t even win a local race against a worthless RINO in one of the reddest of red states.

Herman Cain is a good man., but get real. The guy has a good speech, but no record whatsoever of actually accomplishing anything.

We need proven leadership not untested guys we like and HOPE will not disappoint.

Palin, Perry, or Jindal are the sort of leaders we must choose. So far only Palin is even considering a run.
