Shocker! Newly Released FBI Files Show Ted Kennedy Was a Perverted Commie Sympathizer…

Filed under “The least shocking story of all time.”

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained previously redacted material from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) file of the late Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy, who died in August 2009 from brain cancer. Judicial Watch obtained the records pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit originally filed on June 9, 2010 (Judicial Watch v. FBI (Case No. 10-963)).

The documents include a December 28, 1961, State Department memo describing a tour of several Latin American countries taken by then-Assistant District Attorney of Suffolk County Kennedy. This document as it was originally made public was almost completely redacted. After an initial challenge by Judicial Watch, a version with fewer redactions was released. Judicial Watch continued to argue that the blackouts were baseless and, after six more months, the FBI relented. Among the statements previously withheld but now made available to Judicial Watch:

  • “While Kennedy was in Santiago he made arrangements to ‘rent’ a brothel for an entire night. Kennedy allegedly invited one of the Embassy chauffeurs to participate in the night’s activities.”
  • “[I]n each country Kennedy insisted on interviewing ‘the angry young men’ of the country. He wanted to meet with communists and others who had left-wing views. . . . Ambassador Freeman, Bogota, said the first person whom Kennedy wanted to meet was Lauchlin Currie.” (The document subsequently identifies Currie as a person who “had been mentioned in Washington investigations of Soviet spy rings.”)
  • “[I]n Mexico Kennedy asked Ambassador Mann that certain left-wingers be invited to the Embassy residence where interviews could be held. Mann took the strong position that he would not invite such people and stated that if any such interviews were to be conducted, all arrangements should be made by Kennedy himself.”

(Judicial Watch, through separate litigation (Judicial Watch v. FBI (Case No. 10-1568)), also recently forced the FBI to begin the release of the FBI file of the late Ted Stevens, the long-time Republican Senator from Alaska.)

Actually, I’m a former dem that is shocked. I had no idea, the media never covered any of this.

Thanks for this post, I had no clue at all. The man was disgusting, I thought somewhat respectly of him because I liked and respected JFK, and had assumed Ted Kennedy was of the same mold, frankly I think JFK would not belong in the demonrat party as it is now, its now very far left party, very sad to see. The moderates and conservative democrats have all been shoved out and are now independents.

Makes me wonder what else the media is covering up concerning dem. politicians.

Sadly former dem, JFK wasn’t so great either but yes, he wouldn’t belong to the Dem party as it is now

Why would Teddy…. a Suffolk County ADA …. at that time….

“… insisted on interviewing ‘the angry young men’ of the country. He wanted to meet with communists and others who had left-wing views….”

Would these connections play a role in his two brothers…. assassinations…

Why would an ADA…. an assistant county prosecutor…. at the time…
want to talk to left wing communists… in foreign countries….
    while his brother was President…??

keep digging gang…. there’s treasure in them thar hills…

And don’t forget these Teddy loves Communism greatest hits:

    http://bigpeace.com/stzu/2010/10/10/big-dupes-at-big-peace-ted-kennedy-part-2/
[part one is good as well, linked there]

    Fave excerpt:
“Kengor: Three years later, in May 1983, with the next presidential election coming up—with Kennedy again a frontrunner—Kennedy did something similar to the incumbent president, Ronald Reagan, also through a private liaison. I have a May 1983 document, highest classification, sent from KGB head Victor Chebrikov to the odious Yuri Andropov. The subject head immediately grabs your attention: “Regarding Senator Kennedy’s request to the General Assembly of the Communist Party Y. V. Andropov.”

…And a ruthless human being. Here again, though, Senator Kennedy would beg to differ. The letter said Kennedy was “very impressed” with Andropov, but decidedly unimpressed with Reagan. Kennedy wanted the Soviet leadership to know he remained troubled by Cold War tensions, which he attributed not to the Soviets but, again, to the American president. The problem was “Reagan’s belligerence” and “refusal to engage any modification” in his politics or policies. Worse, noted the letter, Reagan was riding high, cruising to easy re-election. Americans loved him. What could be done? Where was Reagan vulnerable?

Alas, that’s where Ted Kennedy could help. He offered to meet with the Soviet leadership to discuss how to respond to Reagan’s “propaganda.” Among other things, Kennedy suggested a PR campaign by which the Soviets, including high-level military, would come to America for a media tour. Kennedy suggested Barbara Walters and Walter Cronkite as friendly interviewers. (By the way, in the book, we publish a newly declassified document on communists targeting Cronkite.)”

The only reason this commie was looked upon as anything other than the POS he was is because his dead brothers have been elevated to sainthood by the libtards.

Pretty sure after the commie/progressives picked off his brothers, old Teddy sold his soul to them in exchange for turning the US red and a death certificate which read “died of natural causes”.

We should remember Ted Kennedy for those elements of his character that defined him best.
For being expelled from Yale twice for cheating. For accusing a Supreme Court nominee of degrading women, segregating the races and enforcing ignorance (how ignorant of you Teddy). For hijacking the American dream. For jacking taxes so high the average American household can barely get by (though his oil wealth is sheltered in off shore trusts, safe from annual income taxes and estate taxes). For leaving a girl to drown in his car while he sobered-up, his family paid off authorities to fix the investigation (he was only charged with leaving the scene of an accident and given a suspended sentence). For sending a message to the Soviets that he would help derail Regan’s defense of Western Europe.
On second thought, let’s forget Teddy altogether.

When Leftists of the post-1945 period have advocated peace, it has had one purpose only — to curb the strength, options and influence of their own country. It is an anti-nationalist and anti-patriotic stratagem.

    like Ted Kennedy and crew…

It is intended to show them as the wise and benevolent ones who know better than the national leadership.

And the long buildup to the invasion of Iraq by Western forces in 2003 saw a great upsurge in Leftists taking to the streets to demonstrate for “peace”.

In this respect the new Left is very similar to the old Left of the cold-war era.

Throughout the Cold War era, a great cry of Leftist demonstrators and their supporters was “Peace”

    – which essentially meant: “Do not attack our friends, the Communists — or even prepare to defend yourself against them”.

But in typically hypocritical fashion, few Leftists were straight forward in admitting their motivations.

I’ve referred to Ole Teddy as a commie, many times over the years and had my liberal friends castigate me for it.

Wonder if they have anything to say today, other than his “intentions” were “good.”

Like my dear old Mom always says, “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.”

Lauchlin Currie was an “economic adviser” to FDR.

    ———–

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lauchlin_Currie

Lauchlin Bernard Currie (October 8, 1902 – December 23, 1993) was a Canadian-born U.S.economist from New Dublin, Nova Scotia, Canada, and allegedly an agent of espionage for the Soviet Union.

As a naturalized American citizen, Currie served as White House economic adviser to President Franklin Roosevelt during World War II (1939 to 1945). From 1949 to 1953, he directed a major World Bank mission to Colombia and related studies. Information from the VENONA project references him in nine partially decrypted cables. He became a Colombian citizen after the United States refused to renew his passport in 1954.

None of this surprises me one bit. Old Drunkard Teddy was always a POS and acted like one all the time. And the left loved him for what reason to be honest? Oh yea, that he was always trying to undermine the USA anyways, anyhow he could. Didnt matter to the left that Fat Teddy always presented a slobberly, drunkard image to the entire USA, never mind the world. The leftys always go for the loosers it seems. All you gotta do is look at the POS they support in the White House now.

The news about Fast Teddy is not news to anyone who has followed his career. The guy was a lush, a womanizer and a liar. He was a POS, born into a POS family. I used to see home movies of Bobby and John knocking Teddy around in football games. Teddy used to get his ass kicked all the time by his brothers. Gotta wonder if they just tackled him hard one too many times.

Doesn’t matter, the old shill is dead and gone. He’s got bigger things to worry about what with the White Throne Judgement comming up soon.

  24. Fishy Commentator says:
    February 27, 2011 at 2:46 pm

It’s like this on all levels of government. There are people who are engaging in all sorts of crimes at every level of government who are not being brought up on charges and prosecuted. The only reason that makes any sense is that the people who know what is going on just don’t want to make enemies.

  25. CapedConservative says:

Doesn’t take much to do the math on his “Profiles in Courage” here… Brother Jack was staunchly anti-communist. Shot in the head. Dead. Brother Bobby was staunchly anti-communist. Shot in the head. Dead.

Yes, a very courageous man indeed.

In the 1950′s the Kennedy family was friends with Senator Joe McCarthy. I’m reasonably certain that Joe Kennedy Sr. didn’t much care for Communists either.

I think the Communists threatened Joe Sr.’s own strategy for world conquest.

Some politicians on the Left who have passed on have made me pause,
later, to see them in a slightly less acrimonious way. I’m 66, politics
neutral until Billy Jeff won. That did it! And his ultimate success at
f-ing the country and now receiving accolades boggles my mind. But
this electorate naivete heralded the shining boob in the WH today.
(If some say Bush was incompetent, I won’t scream). This country’s
slavering over ANYTHING Kennedy must end, and will. Ted Kennedy
was the most buffoonish pretender for political fame I have seen….
second, of course to the current CLOWN. The Media is what sells
these Lib icons to the nation…..and have always done quite well.
