RINO Sen. Lisa Murkowski Vigorously Defends Planned Parenthood’s Taxpayer Funding…

Still haven’t gotten over the fact this wretched hag pulled out a win in November.
Comments & pings are closed.(Politico) — Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska has come out in opposition to the House’s attempts to defund Planned Parenthood, making her the first Republican senator to specifically support the beleaguered organization.
“I believe Planned Parenthood provides vital services to those in need and disagree with their funding cuts in the bill,” Murkowski wrote in a letter to Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) and Vice Chairman Thad Cochran (R-Miss.). “I ask you to consider these programs going forward to determine if there is room for allowing continued funding.”
Murkowski’s move follows that of Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), who last week came out against the House vote to defund Title X, the only federal program dedicated to reproductive health issues.
“Sen. Collins is a longtime supporter of the Title X family planning program, and she believes the House’s decision to completely eliminate the funding is unwise,” Collins spokesman Kevin Kelley said. “The program has successfully reduced the number of unplanned pregnancies, therefore helping to reduce health care costs.”
Planned Parenthood receives Title X funding, which is defunded in the Republican spending bill. Planned Parenthood defunding was the subject of a separate amendment to the spending bill sponsored by Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.).
In an e-mail to a constituent, Murkowski expanded on her position, also taking shots at the House Republicans’ attempts to end Title X funding. “I do believe that Planned Parenthood provides vital services to those in need and disagree with its funding cuts contained in the H.R. 1 package,” she wrote in a Friday e-mail, obtained by POLITICO. “From 2002-2008, Planned Parenthood received $342 million in federal taxpayer money through Title X funding alone. With these funds, Planned Parenthood has provided women throughout the U.S. with important family planning and contraceptive services as well as screening for breast and cervical cancers for low-income women.”

What an ugly hag.
Wow…. you know, its amazing how many times in the past 3 years or so Ive said “What the hell were those people thinking by electing ____???”
I also dont get how someone can put and R behind their name, TRICK lots of people into voting for them, then show your true colors as a liberal democrat.
How do these pieces of crap even sleep at night, knowing they got where they did by fooling people into thinking they are something they arent, because they KNOW that if they ran on their actual values and intentions, theyd never get elected.
Theres a place in hell reserved for people like this. With their own personal demon valet.
With everyone getting free health care with Obamacare, why is PP needed?
Aren’t you proud Alaska? Lisa, cervical cancer is a huge difference from pregnancy. Stop trying to rationalize PP, defund it now!
Come on Republicans, get your act together in DC and start making a lot of serious financial cuts!
Remember, Leeeeza Mookowski had hundreds of ballots with identical handwriting from lots of hinterland natives. She’s not only adopted lib positions, she’s adopted their voting “strategies” too.
No, I am not proud, nevergiveup. Re-electing Lisa was about the most shameful thing Alaskans have done. She’s a nightmare.
.
Too bad Planned Parenthood wasn’t around when Mookowski was conceived…..
I blame John Cornyn.
Republicans in Alaska rejected her. She lost the primary, but got the democrats to vote for her in the general. Anything to spite Palin.
she’s not the “first Republican senator”
I thought she has an “I” for Independant in front of her name
Best politician money can buy.
The Palinoids paid for her.
What a disgrace.
Imagine how much more ferocious Lisa Murkowski would look if she had upper teeth, too.
I’m reading revisionist history here about the series of events which occurred in Alaska during the 2010 election. It would be refreshing if just one of you had a clue or the integrity to tell what actually happened.
It is now a moot issue. So I won’t bother to put those issues in their proper perspective, and besides, even if I did, you would continue to distort that facts anyway to get them to conform to your screwy, senseless and ill-conceived agenda, the purpose of which would elude any rational person.
She’s no RINO.
She’s a democrat…and quickly closing in to Pelosi levels.
if only she had been aborted
Right Greg, she’s no RINO. She is a write-in embarrassment for Alaska.
Reality Check,
Please do Enlighten us on how this person was fairly and legally elected into office in Alaska. I saw the Video of the Union Worker telling everyone to write Murkowski’s name on multiple write in ballots and shove them into the ballot box. I’m sure this was repeated at other Oil Company Unions all over the state. I Know that Most of the Oil Companies and their Union Workers have no Love for Sarah Palin because they feel she took their Money and gave it to the People of Alaska as compensation for taking their Oil. Therefore any Senate Candidate she supports must loose the Election.
The Alaskan Election was as Shameful as the Nevada Election.
I am an Alaska Republican and I can confirm some of the information above. Lisa, whom I do not support, lost the Republican Primary to Joe Miller, a super-bright constitutional conservative lawyer and military academy grad (Westpoint I think) who was unrelentingly assaulted by the media. He did have a few campaign missteps and a late breaking very minor scandal. Several weeks after she lost the primary she announced her write-in campaign. There was a weak Democrat candidate in the race, Scott McAdams, whom many Dems regarded as unelectable. Therefore many Democrats, many liberal Republicans and independents and virtually 100% of Alaska natives (I can say that based on precincts in the bush where Lisa received 100% or nearly 100% of the vote. Another comment related to many ballots having the same hand writing is absolutely correct). Alaskans love their pork. Lisa was pro pork and liberal enough to be satisfactory to even the most progressive Dem, Joe is a constitutional conservative. A cabal of native corporations got together and formed a PAC and spent millions to get Lisa elected. They are heavily invested in maintaining the pork train. Therefore around election day more than 100 activists were dispatched all over the bush to haul people to the polls and make sure the people voted for Lisa. This is one of the reasons so many of the ballots in bush towns voted nearly 100% for Lisa and had similar or identical handwriting. It was really scandalous. To clarify how she got into office, she was appointed to the office which her father vacated, by her father as he took over as Governor of Alaska. So there is a very strong sense of entitlement there. Anyone who listens to her speak or god forbid, debate, will immediately realize that she has barely 2 brain cells to rub together. Next to Miller she was absolutely incoherent and over-matched. So there you have it. Natives and Democrats and some Republicans as well as a plurality of Independents elected her because they don’t want to lose the pork, they oppose reducing federal spending and the media destroyed Miller’s reputation. Lisa opposes ending earmarks for example. Natives corps didn’t want the no bid 8A contract gravy train to end.
Lisa Murkowski is an embarrassment to the state and country. She is nearly as dumn as a sack of hammers. Her morals and political philosophy are incoherent. She is pro-infanticide and has really become a knee jerk progressive. Nothing would make me happier than to get rid of her but Alaskans habitually reelect people. I don’t see how this will happen particularly if there is massive, coordinated voter fraud as there was in the last election. Also, given her voting record a strong Democrat is unlikely to run. Afterall, Lisa is more than satisfactory to even the most “progressive” Democrat.
I am sick over this whole thing. She is a disgrace and does not and will never have my support. I would like nothing more than to see her defeated.
Lisa Muckowski needs to be kicked out of the Republican caucus. She has no
credibility as a Republican.
hey, at least alaska does not have the snowe-collins setup like I do.
make that snowe-collins-michaud-pingree, that is ALL we have in maine.
Hey I got the Grassley – Harkin deal here in Iowa.
Grassley tries, but fails as a conservative.
In ’08 Iowa went all in for Obummer. You expect that sort of thing out of states like Maine and NY……
At least Levin and “Stab-us-now” (Debbie Stabinaw) have the “decency” to admit to being liberal d-bag PsOS…
Agreed, Ms Murkowski is a fine argument for ‘retro active abortion’…
Thanks for the picture, Zip – keeps the flies off the watermelon ….
Is it me or did God put her mouth on upside down?
Colorado is in rapid decline with the double dose of dipshits, lil michael bennett, and super libtard union fuck Udall
I’m an Alaskan. Voted for her. Proud of her. She won fair and square. Her opponent beat himself. When you stoop to disparaging her looks instead of rationally debating the issue, it exposes you as ignorant and low-principled. Keep it up! Gives us good guys more power.
@ Renokee: She won “fair and square” if you think vote fraud, electioneering and having the state change the rules in the midst of the election is “fair and square”. I guess you think she initially got into the Senate “fair and square” too. Personally I’m not a fan of nepotism.
I do agree that Miller’s missteps hurt his campaign.
As for your overbearing scolding, I will simply quote a line from Delores Claiborne. “Sometimes Delores, being a bitch is all we have to hold on to.”
Now I understand how things work. If you are a republican you are only allowed to vote x, y,z–no deviations or you are called names or worse! Apparently, it is also understood that, if you dare to vote to protect a women’s right to choose when to have a child, have access to safe and LEGAL abortion, access to prevention and protection measures, cancer screenings, education and parenting support, then you should have been aborted; the very same topic you hypocrites CLAIM to be against. You are all sick and twisted individuals who probably were born before Roe v Wade was an option for your mothers. See, two can play this stupid game.
KEEP YOUR LAWS OFF OF MY BODY!!!
@Diane — What would your unborn baby say about our laws?
Nah I was born after Roe v Wade so I was one of the lucky ones.
And don’t act like it’s just republicans do that…if a democrat votes for something out of party lines they don’t get tarred and feathered by liberals.
That’s why I stay fairly independent party wise…I like bashing both sides of the aisle (especially if both act like a bunch of progressive spend happy morons).
My 3 sons are prochoice, too, and all of us are Independents. We just recognize that we cannot make these decisions for other people. Same goes for the right to die with dignity.
Thanks, Diane, but you did not answer my question, which, of course, you cannot answer because by definition an unborn person cannot speak.
My point is that you have the luxury of making your shrill observations because you are alive, which is not a luxury you and your ilk afford the unborn. It has nothing to do with choice, contra your claims. It’s a simple matter of life and death. And I agree with you, we cannot make these decisions for other people, which is the reason why I believe the state should outlaw abortion.
Shrill? Hmmm, when someone disagrees with you they sound shrill? Ok, whatever, that does not take away the fact that women are not second class citizens and are the actual people you want to take the choice away from. Have all the babies you can afford, but keep your laws off of my body. How’s that for shrill?
Thanks, Diane, and, yes, I call this shrill: “KEEP YOUR LAWS OFF OF MY BODY!!!”
The all caps might have something to do with it.
Back to my question: I’m happy to keep my laws off your body; but I really don’t give a rip about you. I would like to see your baby’s body protected by law, which is a point you refuse to recognize.
Oh, I understand, it’s the caps. Ok, point taken, I get that.
And, my babies are protected because they had parents who planned for them, could afford them and wanted them very, very much.
Okay, set aside the planning, etc., and let’s return to the “body” argument. Abortion proper constitutes the physical dismemberment of another person’s body who happens to live inside a womb. More specifically, it’s a physical assault against a defenseless child by the very person who should be most concerned about the child’s body — namely, the mother.
So when I contend against abortion, I am contending for the body of another, and when you contend for abortion in the name of your body, you’re really asserting a right to destroy the body of another under the pretext of protecting your own.
In the least, this is inconsistent. In the worse, it’s all of those things that give way to inflammatory rhetoric.
@Diane: I’m out for the night. Should be back tomorrow.
I can’t set aside the planning, etc., as this is why women have the choice. I do have the right to take care of my body and my bank account.
I sent Senator Murkowski an email earlier pledging $10 for every response I received up to $50 and this makes 5! Being from Ohio, another state that is trying to take away a women’s right to safe and legal abortion, I have to divide my $ evenly.
Thanks!
@kathryninalaska ~ Clearly, I understand why the Delores Claiborne quote resonates so well for you.
