Obama: It’s “Unacceptable” to Defund NPR…

TFB.

(The Hill) — The Obama administration on Thursday said it “strongly opposes” a House measure that would permanently defund NPR, but stopped short of making a veto threat.

The administration publicized its stance on the Republican-sponsored bill just a few hours before the House is expected to vote on it. In lieu of the move to ban funding, the Obama administration noted that the president’s budget calls for “targeted reductions” to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), the main federal funding arm for NPR and the Public Broadcasting Service.

“The administration strongly opposes House passage of H.R. 1076, which would unacceptably prohibit federal funding of National Public Radio (NPR) and the use of Federal funds by public radio stations to acquire radio content,” reads a statement from the Office of Management and Budget.

Should the bill pass Congress, the statement indicates that the president might not sign it into law, though the administration did not say specifically how President Obama would handle the bill.

But it remains unclear if the Democrat-controlled will pass the measure if the House advances it, let alone bring it up for a vote.

THE LAW MAKES NO EXCEPTION FOR OBAMA’S COMFORT LEVEL!

Can you imagine a lawyer standing up in court and saying; “But your honor, i really don’t like that solution.”

    The King has spoken.

His brilliance is past pathetic…he really doesn’t get what happened last Nov.

Can’t wait until ’12….the Big Picture will be shown bright in his eyes.

    Adios Obama.

Of course it’s unacceptable to defund a state run media outlet that pushes the socialist/communist agenda of our current President. Who’s surprised by Ovomit’s reaction to defunding?

I believe that we should attach a small tubular piece of Plexiglass (plexiglass bellybutton), to each of these spending cut Bills…. Obviously Politicians (Dems) are in dire need of these… obviously can’t see what is going on with their head up their a$$ and need our help to be reminded of who won in the last round of elections…… just saying…

I am so sick of “strongly oppose” and “unacceptable”. At least he didn’t use the word “unprecedented”.

DEFUND NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO. Like so many other government programs, it sounded real good on paper, did not really serve all the public equally and needed defunding long before the obama depression. Defund and let the president choose to veto it or not. Make him own this economic quagmire we’re in.

No, that is not a spelling error.

Screw it! Pass the bill Congress! They’ll cave, just like they will on most other bills you pass. They don’t want to be held up to ridicule that they didn’t pass a whole damn budget because of NPR or Planned Deparenting. Get it done! That’s what we voted you in for in November!

It probably means that anytime the people/Congress/whomever – votes for something that HE doesn’t agree with, he will figure out a way to over-ride it with an EXECUTIVE ORDER! Just watch and see!

He knew he couldn’t get half of his CZARS and Administration picks into position, if they had to pass the Q&A smell test, so he just over-rides the procedure. Afterall, HE WON!

The elected Republican leaders better be thinking ahead, or they are wasting their time, and ours!

Based on the absence of leadership from the Oval Office on budget/Egypt/Libya/Japan/etc, there is a new definition for POTUS :

    “Present” of the United States

    >>>>”I propose that the question is not; is he high? The question is; what is he on?”<<<<

    Good question?

maybe it is just the residual effects of that "bad fertilizer" or "lead based soil" on the "FIRST GARDEN",,,,, commonly referred to by the LEFT, as the "OGOTUS" (ORGANIC GARDEN OF THE UNITED STATES). Or, perhaps those "GREENS" mixed in with all those fruits and vegetables, gives us the true meaning of the "POT" in "POTUS".

    Just tryin to stay current.

Poser is old news– that was his campaign facade.

“Present” is a reflection of his past voting record as a senator as well as his current leadership style. No balls.

Gotta wonder where the two kids came from.
