Amtrak CEO Drives to Biden Station Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony After Train Breaks Down
So fitting somehow …
(The Daily Caller) — Today’s the big day for Amtrak’s Wilmington train station. It is being renamed in honor of Vice President and former Delaware Senator Joe Biden following major renovations made possible with stimulus funds.
One problem: the CEO of Amtrak got stuck on the train.
ABC News Deputy Political Director & Political Reporter Michael Falcone tweeted at approximately 10 a.m. that the Acela train he was riding had been “delayed” in Baltimore and that he was sitting next to Amtrak CEO Joe Boardman.
Falcone tweeted, “Acela to NY delayed for ‘unknown period’ Should I feel better that the Amtrak CEO is sitting next to me?”
It quickly became apparent that the CEO’s presence wouldn’t fix the train. A subsequent tweet from Falcone noted, “BAD sign: Amtrak CEO Joe Boardman just got OFF the train to take a car to Wilmington.”
“Amtrak CEO abandoned his own train to make ribbon cutting ceremony for Joe Biden station in Wilmington,” Falcone reported. “When I told Amtrak CEO Joe Boardman it was a bad sign he was ditching the stranded Acela, he chuckled.”
An Amtrak spokesman offered “no comment” to ABC News on the incident.
The rechristening of the Wilmington station was scheduled to begin at noon, according to NBC Philadelphia
Way to go Joe — Biden Station received $20 million in stimulus funds and managed to come in $5.7 million over budget.

Ironically oh the “One” that thinks he is like Midas…all that his administration touches turns to down right piles of stinky wet shit………We should have all seen it coming……..Odumbo and this administration have never picked a winner…seriously……and I think the fly on the mouth was a sign that should have opened our eyes to realize that nothing but wet deep piles of shit will come from this…..can’t even give the respect of the title “president” anymore to this a$$clown………
it just never seems to end, the train-wreck on the LEFT. Biden took something like 3% of the vote in the Primary, he ran before and failed miserably due to lack of a following, lack of popularity, plagarism; just some small, insignificant drawbacks. Biden was chosen by Obama, for several reasons:
He would be relatively easy to keep on a leash without too much complaint
His older age and experience buffed up Obama’s blank slate
Obama knew Biden would never OUTSHINE “HIM”
Biden needed a platform, and he never had one. Now he does! A Train Station named after a train-wreck – it is all very fitting. Thus, perpetuating the atmosphere of getting something for nothing; Awards and “Namings” for being nothing and doing nothing,(Barack Obama Schools, Nobel Prize, Ships, Train Stations, etc. – exaggerated benefits for a high percentage of poor performance for certain groups, – money for nothing, vacations for pleasure on someone else’s dime, extravegent parties on someone else’s dime, Golf lessons and practice on someone else’s dime. etcetera, etcetera, etcetera!
It is all very meaningless, and robs those who are deserving of such honors. JMO
Clearly more funding is needed for reliable public transportation.
The Train is so similar to the the Train Wreck we have as a Presidency.
Both Biden and Obama are way off track for America. maybe they should move to China the trains always run on time there and they like to stuff them full of people like sardines.

Biden, as a boy, must have been locked in the attic with his Lionel train
set. Trains are still an important focus of his life…even in dotage.
I’ll give Biden at least this much credit. For all of his many years in Washington the guy utilized public transit and practiced what he preached. In other words, he didn’t tell us all to take the train or the bus and then hop in a limo or take a private jet like a lot of his cohorts.
Doesn’t mean I’m gonna hop on the rails like he does though. Amtrak will only be profitable and reliable when it is privatized and then maybe I’ll think about taking a train.

What happened to the quaint US custom of at least waiting until a politician died before naming public facilities after him/her? Can’t we at least wait until the politician leaves office before doing so? When will we see a Dick Cheney facility? Shouldn’t a politician have done something of importance before getting something named after him/her, other than just showing up for the job like a union hack?

No-Speed Rail
I rode Amtrak once when I was a kid. It broke down on the return trip, we waited for hours in the heat until it was fixed. I was very impressed with the public transportation when in Europe, specifically The Netherlands. I had no problem getting around, and cheap too.
Put a hood ornament on the train that is the image of Biden – good place for dead bugs to accumulate.
