Bolton Remarking the Obvious: Obama not “qualified to be president”
It’s like saying “water is wet.”
(SACRAMENTO, Calif) — President Barack Obama is unqualified, disinterested and not ready to lead on foreign policy, John Bolton said Friday night.
Making no mention of his own flirtations with a 2012 presidential bid, the former ambassador to the United Nations told California Republicans that it could take hours to outline all the challenges the Obama administration faces.
“When President Obama took the office on Jan. 20, 2009, when it came to foreign policy and national security, he wasn’t qualified to be president,” Bolton said. “Today, more than two years later, he’s still not qualified.”
During his 27-minute speech to a state GOP convention here, Bolton criticized Obama’s handling of nearly every significant foreign policy matter.
On Libya, Bolton blasted Obama’s latest statement of American goals, saying the White House’s objectives are now “utterly inexplicable,” and that Obama had done a “180-degree shift” on the issue of a no-fly zone.
Likewise, Bolton said Obama was a flip-flopper on Egypt. “Obama had, by my count, four positions on Egypt before Mubarak finally fell.”
Though not by name, Bolton also jabbed recent comments by potential 2012 rival Haley Barbour that America should consider shrinking its presence in Afghanistan.
“Many people wonder why we’re there and what the objectives are,” Bolton said, noting that an American presence in Afghanistan will help keep the country from becoming a “base for international terrorism.”
“We’re not there fighting for them. We’re there fighting for us,” he said.
Prior to his speech, Bolton told reporters he was “considering” a 2012 run, but that he hadn’t made up his mind. He didn’t offer a timeline for when he’d make a decision.

The ‘Stache would kick arse around the world on America’s behalf and ditch the U.N. post haste. I’d like to think he had enough common sense to know how to straighten out our rotten financial situation, too.
Dealing with the snakepit that’s congress and getting your way is quite another proposition, though. The ‘Stache doesn’t appear to suffer fools lightly, so I don’t know how he’d get around them — unless he took his case directly to the American people.
All I have to say is, the evil regimes around the world should use the little bit of time they have left to have as much fun as possible with the beta socialist in the Whitehouse because if Bolton is elected president, playtime is over.
Obama and the Dems are in major denial. To them, there are no evil govenments in the world. We just need to put down our weapons and give everyone in the world a great big hug. Make it all better.

Obama’s not only not qualified to be president, he’s not qualified to run a twelve year olds lemonade stand. That would take hard work, dedication and effort and a working knowledge of the free market and capitalism, things he knows nothing about and despises.
This guy Barry Soetoro has but one aim and that is to destroy America and other countries who sided with Great Britain in the 1960′s who supposedly did harm to his father and grandfather during British occupation at that time. And man are We the People are truly paying for it!

Bolton is in idiot. when he was appointed to negotiate with North Korea to eliminate their Nuke Program, he called Kim Jong Il a Stupid Midget. so they dug up their reactor and made a bunch of bombs.. yea, i don’t think this guy should be elected dog catcher.
his only claim to fame was being the Bag Man to deliver our tax payer built Stinger Missiles to F’n Iran for $20,000′,000 to buy guns for drugs from the Contras during the Reagan Administration.
i don’t think Reagan had Alzheimer’s, i think they gave him a Lobotomy to prevent him from testifying at the Iran Contra Hearings. you don’t get Alzheimer’s over a weekend.

Bolton is indeed an idiot, but for a different reason.
We’re broke. We can’t afford to play all of his dumbass foreign policy games. Our current problems are due, in large part, to too much foreign policy.
We need a president who will put America first and begin to untangle the economic quagmire here at home, and our pointless involvement overseas.
We don’t need a guy whose signature involves borrowing another few trillion for more foreign escapades.
When national bankruptcy finally hits, and we can no longer keep vital services at 100%, will you be glad for what a bunch of foreign policy wonks did in 2012, or will you be glad that perhaps some infrastructure got built or that there are teachers left at your kids school?
We can’t afford to do both. Big Government is bankrupt.

Your post begs for rebuttal/debunking, but where to begin? You have one or two inarguable points–like “We need a president who will put America first and begin to untangle the economic quagmire here at home…”–but it’s what you DO with them that undermines your entire post.
Whose “dumbass foreign policy games” are you referring to? Bolton’s? Or Obama’s? If you mean the latter, I would definitely agree–but if you mean the former, as I believe you do, you need to sign up for History 101.
This is not an “either/or” situation–we have serious troubles on both the domestic and the international fronts, and they are intertwined. It’s not possible to focus on the one to the exclusion of the other.
Oh, and if “foreign policy wonks” don’t straighten things up in 2012, we won’t have to worry about that missing infrastructure, or the teachers. We won’t be needing either of them.
So, it’s agreed, Obama is unqualified for every aspect of the job. How do we replace this guy?
