Duke Study: CBS’s Katie Couric, NBC’s Chuck Todd Almost as Liberal as Daily Kos; MSNBC, WaPo More Liberal Than Far-Left Firedoglake…

Another finding that I’ll guarantee won’t surprise you in the slightest — MSNBC’s token RINO Joe Scarborough is actually “significantly left of center.”
Comments & pings are closed.(Newsbusters) — Twitter and other social networks have provided social scientists with unprecedented means of measuring human interaction. As it turns out, that fact has implications for the media bias debate.
In a study to be released next month, three Duke University researchers rank politicians and other public figures by political ideology as measured by a formula that incorporates whom they follow on Twitter, and who follows them. “The results dovetailed with ideological ranking systems based on the politicians’ voting records,” the New York Times reported on Monday.
If the study is accurate, it demonstrates just how liberal some of America’s most prominent journalists really are. Check below the break for some key findings concerning on the not-so-neutral news media.
According to the Duke study:
— NBC’s Chuck Todd and CBS’s Katie Couric are almost as far left as the Daily Kos,
— The Washington Post and MSNBC are more liberal than far-left blog Firedoglake,
— NBC’s Brian Williams and the Los Angeles Times are further left than Andrew Sullivan’s blog the Daily Dish,
— MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, a former Republican congressman, is significantly left of center.

Although their findings sound accurate, using Twitter doesn’t sound like an accurate gauge if that was all someone based your ideology on. People (especially bloggers and journalists) follow those they completely disagree with to see what is going on with them, for research purposes. To assume they agree with everyone they follow or everyone that follows them is not going to produce an accurate conclusion.
However, this study sounds like Twitter is only part of the equation, which may be how they did get correct results.
Shocking news! No, not really. The fact that Joe keeps on saying he’s a Republican is though.
Shocking!!(not) I bet stimulus money paid for this study!
A roll call of traitors who disseminate non-stop marxist propaganda, hate america lies, and rabid anti-semitism all the while personally enriching themselves exploiting a economic system they pretend to dispise. Loathsome human beings! Scarborough is the worst of all because deep down he knows the truth but has sold his soul for wealth. The rest are just not too bright useful idiot newsreaders without personal integrity and honor.
i used to tune in just to hear the stupidity roll off of mika’s toung, like the time she mocked palin’s choice of favorite founding father (washington) with her own (lincoln),not a founder. she dissappeared for awhile so she wouldn’t have to answer any questions. now they have the race baiting poverty pimp al sharpton on as a regular guest. thay all swoon over him like good little white libtards.
Two years ago the management at 630 WMAL in Washington, D.C. decided to get rid of Chris Plante in the 9:00 am to noon time slot and replace him with Joe Scarborough and Mika. Those of us who listened every day at that time pitched a bloody fit. I sent an email to the station manager and told him I would not be listening to the morning show until he brought Chris back. I received a reply to my email with some whining about the market and blah, blah, blah. I didn’t want to hear it. Well there were a lot of other people who sent the same message and seven months later I got another reply to that original email saying the station was bringing Chris Plante back because so many of us had complained. Apparently Joe and Mika stunk.
There didn’t need to be a study, to come to that conclusion. I can see it, and hear it, without someone having it confirm it for me. Finding someone who was even close to center, would have been a coup.
Duke? What is that some kind of redneck bible thumping university?
One Word…
Duh!
I for one am shocked, shocked I say to hear that some members of our press may in some semblance of fact be biased to the left.
This is as surprising as watching the sun rise in the east.
