Obama Regime Sues School for Refusing to Give Teacher Three Weeks Off to Make Pilgrimage to Mecca…
It’s almost like they’re pandering to Muslims or something.
WASHINGTON, March 23 (UPI) — Critics of a U.S. Justice Department lawsuit on behalf of a Muslim teacher in Illinois say it is politically motivated.
Government lawyers filed the religious discrimination suit in December on behalf of Safoorah Khan, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. Khan quit her job in Berkeley, a suburb of Chicago, when she was refused time off to make a pilgrimage to Mecca.
Critics say Khan was requesting a three-week absence, well beyond the usual accommodation to employees’ religion, and the Justice Department should not have become involved. They suggest the Obama administration filed the lawsuit in an effort to reach out to U.S. Muslims.
“It sounds like a very dubious judgment and a real legal reach,” said Michael Mukasey, who served as attorney general in the cabinet of former President George W. Bush. “The upper reaches of the Justice Department should be calling people to account for this.”
Thomas Perez, the current assistant attorney general for civil rights, said the department is trying to defend “the religious liberty our forefathers fought for.”

I know of this story and part of the package of the job was no vacations for like so many years and no Mecca .. so the Teacher took the job signed a contrast then made a claim of Religious intolerance and now our Government is stepping in to give this person the money they want and to suck up to Muslims everywhere.

She didn’t want to wait 9 years to perform a ritual (during her summer time off) that she only has to perform once in her lifetime (and she’s not old or sickly). She was then refused a vacation for 3 whole weeks during the school year, and turns around and sues for discrimination (backed up by Holder and Obama). Just another Muslim purposefully causing a controversy in order to gain concessions from the Infidels, and the Obama administration eagerly jumping in to move the US one step closer to sharia law.

And I also seriously doubt they fought for the ‘religious freedom’ to sue the school district (the taxpayers) for not giving into to bullshit demands.
Awhile back I worked for a well known firm in the land of petroleum and men who wear dresses yet beat women. Those in the firm who felt they had to go to the ultimate moonrock amusement park known as Mecca only got 3 days off to do it. Teachers in Houston , where I live , and who are Catholic and from New Orleans should file a lawsuit against school districts here for not allowing them 3 days of unpaid leave for Lundi Gras,Mardi Gras, and Ash Wed. for the faith and the this faith of their ancestors and culture is very important and religous to them.
