Dem Sen. Lautenberg: Republicans “Don’t Deserve the Freedoms That Are in the Constitution”…

In other words, he’d criminalize dissent if given the chance.

The Republicans in Congress claim they’re concerned about the budget balance, but it’s a disguise! It’s not true! It’s a lie! That’s not what they want. They want — they want other people not to be able to have their own opinions. They don’t deserve the freedoms that are in the Constitution! But we’ll give it to them anyway.

    Democrats hate the constitution because of the limited power it gives the goverment. Obama has referred to the “constraints” within it when describing it to people.

    A little over a year after he left office, Lautenberg was called upon again to run for the Senate. This time, however, it was to replace incumbent Senator Bob Torricelli, who had won nomination for a second term in the June primary elections but was facing federal corruption charges and an uphill climb for reelection against Republican nominee Doug Forrester.

    The selection of Lautenberg came with some irony, as there had been notoriously bad blood between Lautenberg and Torricelli when the two had served together in the Senate. It was rumored that Lautenberg was not the first choice of the Democratic Party to run, but their first choice of Bill Bradley (who had served in this particular seat until 1996, when he decided to retire) was rejected.

    Almost immediately, the New Jersey Republican Party challenged the replacing of Torricelli with Lautenberg, citing that the timing was too close to the election and, per New Jersey law, the change could not be allowed.

    The ballot name change was unanimously upheld by the New Jersey Supreme Court, who cited that the law did not provide for a situation like Torricelli’s and said that leaving Torricelli on the ballot would be an unfair advantage for Forrester, and the U.S. Supreme Court declined to take up the case.

    Lautenberg easily defeated Forrester in the general election, 54% to 44%, and took office for his fourth term in January 2003.

    KUDOS to those brave citizen journalists that show up at and record these lopsided events where the elected class “speak their true minds”.

    In the last couple years of the Tea Parties, 9/12 gatherings, and assorted Glenn Beck functions (and we know THEY are there in our midst to record us) they have not uncovered anything the likes of which we hear from the left. Breitbart has a standing handsome offer of money for anyone who has an audio or video of the alleged racial name-calling in DC at black Congressmen from last year.

    In one sentence, he says it’s Republicans who don’t want people to have their own opinions.

    Old fart Lautenberg will not have to face the Death Panels like the rest of us because he gets a special health plan for being in Congress. He also gets to retire at full pay for life. If Congress had to be part of Obamacare, Social Security and the rest, I believe a lot would change.

    Im from NJ and all i can say is that Lousyberg is a huge embarressment to the state of NJ and i hope that Governor Christie gets wind of what that asshole said and takes him to task on it. Lousyberg should be very publically and painfully made to explain what he meant by his idiotic statement and than should be thrown from office and never allowed to run for any political office period. What a friggin disgrace. Im sure if old George Washington could come back from the dead he would give bigmouthed Frankie a good ass-whomping behind the woodshed.
