PETA Wants Bible Changed to Include More Animal-Friendly Language…

(Gothamist) — After they heard that the latest translation of the New International Version of the Bible will now use gender- inclusive language such as “he or she” instead of just “he”, PETA saw an opportunity to change one other thing.
The organization has petitioned the Committee on Bible Translation to suggest that its next translation remove”speciesist” language, by referring to animals as “he or she” instead of “it.” “When the Bible moves toward inclusively in one area . . . it wasn’t much of a stretch to suggest they move toward inclusively in this area. Language matters. Calling an animal ‘it’ denies them something. They are beloved by God. They glorify God,” Bruce Friedrich, PETA’s vice president for policy, told CNN.
PETA said it hopes the switch to include more gender-inclusive language will spark translators to readdress the ways animals are referred to in the Bible.
“Updating the Bible’s language regarding animals would not only reflect modern writing trends but also reinforce the idea that animals are living beings valued by God, not inanimate objects. Jesus taught us the importance of mercy and compassion, and this update would encourage mercy and compassion for all God’s creatures — including those who have feathers, fins, and fur,” Friedrich wrote.

Also, maybe change the Old Testament to have the animals building and rescuing Noah and his family with the ark instead of vice versa.

The environmentalists are just as bad, saying that the population of the planet is to large – yet never offering to consider suicide as a viable alternative lifestyle for themselves. Personally, if they found their own lives to precious to end I would be tempted to listen seriously if they just offered themselves up for mass sterilization. Yes, a nice public castration of 5,000 environmentalists every Saturday for a few years would catch my attention. The same with PETA offering baby bratwurst in place of beef brats – of course using their own progeny for the protein resource.

I used to belong to PETA and donate money to them. I got disgusted with them and stopped sending them money after I realized that they were far more interested in notoriety than helping animals. There are so many more things they could do to actually help animals instead of the constant three-ring circus they insist upon.

they put people in employment positions at farms, in order to ambush the farmer and show his “inhumane” treatment of his own animals. No matter that the video is edited without context. The public outcry over videos of humans trying to pick up a 1 and a half ton cow with a skid loader is shown to the fairly ignorant of livestock handling public as CRUEL. not mentioning that if a cow is down for any length of time that the cow dies from massive internal injury, the organs actually shift and dies a slow painful death from organ failure. they are COMPLICIT in having the animals goes ‘down’ on their watch while being ‘employed’ by these farms. My neighbor is actaully one of those that have spent bundles of money fighting these arseholes in court.. she left the cow lay for HOURS before alerting the owner of any trouble with her. cows go ‘down’ for a number of reasons and time is usually of the essence in getting her back up.

I’m sorry, but food comes from the farmer FIRST, not the grocery store, and don’t expect factory farming to apply any type of health conscious or animal welfare practices once they OWN the industry.
At its true core, PETA is not so much about being animal friendly as it is ANTI-HUMAN. The ONE shelter they run in southern Virginia has a 97%+ KILL rate. Several PETA employees were convicted in NC a couple of years ago for scamming local rescue leagues, taking animals and KILLING them in a van. Absolutely true.
As these people are not in any way religious (except for being religiously anti-human), they are simply trying to get in another 15 seconds of fame. Anyone who understands anything about the original languages of Torah and X-tian scriptures can see the utter ridiculousness of this.
PETA founders and supporters are some of the most ardent supporters of eugenics and have made no attempt to disguise their contempt for humanity or domestic animals. Nice, as Ingrid Newkirk, a type 1 diabetic, must rely on pig insulin to survive. You’d think she’s see some hypocrasy there, but apparently not.
PETA is absolutely the worst thing to happen to animals. As loud mouth as they are they were perfectly willing to give a pass to Michael Vic simply because President Urkle favored it. Hypocrites. PETA is very good at prosecuting little old ladies that have too many cats. But not one word about Muslim EID and the rest of their blood letting and abuse of animals. PETA you should be stripped of your charity status. People should not donate to you but to local animal rescue for you are not worth your salt.
