White House: Obama Intervened in Libya Because It Served America’s “Best Interests”…

Since when did America’s “best interests” include keeping the French and British fully supplied with Libyan oil?

(The Hill) — No sense of precedent guided President Obama’s decision to intervene in Libya, administration officials said Monday.

“We don’t make decisions on interventions based on consistency or precedent,” said Denis McDonough, the administration’s deputy national security adviser, amid an off-camera gaggle of reporters. “We make them based on how we can best advance our interests in the region.”

McDonough was speaking hours before President Obama’s speech Monday night on Libya. He explained that there were compelling reasons to get involved in Libya as opposed to Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen and Syria, four other countries in the Middle East where pro-democracy crowds have battled authoritarian governments.

Administration officials wouldn’t outline the contents of Obama’s speech, and McDonough’s remarks suggest Obama is unlikely to lay out any doctrine encompassing the administration’s philosophy for intervening in foreign conflicts.

Why are US taxpayers putting up millions/billions (in military actions) and blood to secure oil for the UK ?

Yep, it’s all about the oil…and the oil is not even for the USA!

Maybe this “kinetic action” is all just a ploy to get barry and lady m invited to the Royal Wedding!

It’s a “kinetic action” because this administration changes the bullshit line from day to day.

Yesterday on the Sunday morning shows (except on FNC) Gates stated it was NOT in our best interest.

But seeing how quickly that was grabbed and exposed by the conservative blogs they have to take “kinetic action” today.

Except for the lame “humanitarian” interest, look for Obama to be 180 degrees opposite from what Clinton and Gates spewed yesterday.

Obama doesn’t care about British and French oil supplies.
He just wants to help his Moslem Brotherhood allies to power.

    Key Obamessiah focus:

    Voluminous
    Overseas
    Transormational
    Emerging
    Sympathizers

    e.g. — V.O.T.E.S.

With vigourous CYA tap-dancing to dodge responsibility.

I love Obama’s “it won’t be our fault” pose regarding the unpredictable (well, maybe not ALL that unpredictable) outcome.

Like a little kid who whacks a beehive with a baseball bat, then walks away while the angry bees swarm about stinging passersby. When they complain, the little kid says, “Hey, I’m not responsible for the results. I just hit the hive. I’m not touching it anymore so you can’t blame me for anything else. It’s not my fault!”

I heard a term for this that seems to fit: “Humanitarian Imperialism”.

Y’all are misreading the statement. He didn’t say American interests, he said “our interests”.

Advance copy of OBOZO Statement on Libya:

Dear America. I am an utter failure. I have no idea what I am doing in the Oval Office, as I have proved time and again. I have squandered your money, failed to protect your borders and National safety, I have failed to stand up for this nation, choosing instead to bow to KNOWN Terrorists.

Now I have decided to attack a nation that, while the leader IS a twisted, sick, horrible troll, did not directly pose a threat to the US. Even after my top Military advisers warned me that this was not a prudent plan, I forged ahead and ignored the advice of well-trained, better educated and certainly more qualified people to advance my own agenda.

I am not apologizing, not to America. I only do that with OTHER countries. What I am saying, and let me be clear, is that ACORN and idiots helped me get here, and here’s your CHANGE.

Why are we keeping the British and French oil supplies open? Simple. If those jokers are getting oil from Libya and the ME, they’re not getting oil from Canada, Venezuala (yeah, even with Chavez), and other places the US gets oil.

Keeping the supply lines open for other countries MAY benefit the US. It’s one hell of a trade off…..
