Flashback: Obama’s Top Energy Aide Advocated for $10-a-Gallon Gas Prices Like They Have in Europe…

The most radical administration in history.

(Daily Caller) — During a speech in Washington Wednesday on the need to secure the country’s energy security, President Obama told Americans not to worry: “We’ve been down this road before.”

“Remember, it was just three years ago that gas prices topped $4 a gallon,” said Obama. “Working folks haven’t forgotten that. It hit a lot of people pretty hard . . . So here’s the bottom line — there are no quick fixes.”

The president’s speech comes after weeks of rising oil prices and outrage over the administration’s de facto moratorium on offshore drilling. But while Obama talked about the need to produce more oil domestically to help ease the pain at the pump, his chief energy adviser has a history of advocating for high gas prices, once saying, “coal is my worst nightmare.”

As director of the Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory, Steven Chu, Obama’s secretary at the Department of Energy, said in an interview that gas taxes should slowly be increased over the next 15 years in order to force people to turn to alternative energy sources.

“Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to levels in Europe,” said Chu.

In Europe, the price for a gallon of gas consistently hovers around $10 a gallon.

As I said in a previous thread. Here Liar Odumbass is telling us that if you have a shortage of a thing, you can’t fix your problem by acquiring more of that thing. Liberal logic at its finest.

And Odumbass’s fix at the time was for everyone to make sure their tires were properly inflated.

Obama supporters don’t care, because they know their Messiah will offer subsidies for the poor for gas. Won’t hurt them, will only hurt those stupid suckers who work and pay taxes for a living.

Gas was $2.25 under Bush where I live. Yes, it spiked but then was under control. The Golfer in Chief has no idea what is ahead or how to deal with it.

    How about this Obama:

It’s no use lying to us any more.

You are just staging a speech, carefully crafting your teleprompter led oratory in an attempt to fool Americans into thinking you actually have some validity.

We know you do not.. you are a failure as a man and as a President. You have lied and lied and we are sick of you.

You would do well to shut up and start packing!

You may need to slip away during the night to prevent us from putting an end to your sorry lying ass.

We will not quit until we have our collective foot on your neck!

    Engineered Crisis.

Don’t use our resources, turn food to fuel, and when the crisis hits, make it worse.

All of this “proves” that free market energy has failed, and the solution is to socialize the energy markets and infrastructure.

The Obama plan as learned from his mentors.

Sarah if you’re reading this.. I will help do everything I can to get you elected.
I will give a year or two of my life to help a real American get elected.

That is the scary part, he said this and GOT ELECTED. We are such a stupid society, and getting more stupid. Maybe not so stupid, just totally enrolled in the cradle to grave mentality. If you don’t work or pay taxes and get free stuff everywhere, it’s not really that dumb to vote for this jerk . God help us all

Remember, it was just three years ago that gas prices topped $4 a gallon,” said Obama. “Working folks haven’t forgotten that.

Me: No they haven’t. We also remember that lifting the moratoriums on gulf drilling drove those prices down again. It was 1.83 before you took office there…asswipe.

It hit a lot of people pretty hard … So here’s the bottom line – there are no quick fixes.”

Me: Wrong again stupid. Before the BP spill there were 55 working wells in the gulf, now there are 25. The consequence of your stupid ass decision making has been higher prices at the pump.

    Its your fault Carter Jr.

So why don’t you take your green tree-hugging policies and your lying doublespeak rhetoric back to the country that you came from or just shove it up your ass. Or shove it up your fat-assed wife. God knows there appears to be plenty of room for more shit up her ass.

No one ever says the reason for the high gas prices over there are all the taxes on it to cover health care and a whole lot more.

They would love to have a 5 dollar tax on a gallon of gas

The energy aide is right – we should have $10 dollar gas prices. The only reason we don’t is that the government subsidizes or GIVES the oil companies $6 for every tank of gas sold in the US. This is done to keep the gas prices lower for the consumer. If you want to know how much money they give the oil industry – find out how many gallons of gas are sold in the US per year or whatever time measurement you like – and multiply it by $6. I have done the math and it is BILLIONS of dollars EVERY YEAR. What the government should do with this subsidy instead is give to to the alternative energy industry such as electric cars. They could likely afford to buy most everyone in the US an electric vehicle ending our dependence on foreign oil, eliminating the importance of the middle east, and taking away the source of funds for all terrorist groups. In all likelihood – we could even get world peace. But who wants all that. Remember – necessity is the mother of invention – at $10 dollars a gallon – the actual price of gas without the subsidy – the necessity would be there.
