Obama: Libyan Rebels Comprised of “Professionals, Lawyers and Doctors”…
Now he’s just making stuff up.
(Australian) — The US is considering giving weapons to rebels battling Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in Libya, despite concerns that some could have terrorist links to al-Qa’ida and Hezbollah.
“We are examining all options to support the opposition,” President Barack Obama said yesterday. His comments, a day after his nationally televised address on the reasons for US military involvement in Libya, came as leaders from countries involved in the military operation now under NATO leadership met in London to co-ordinate efforts against the Gaddafi regime
US officials also appear unclear about the allegiances of rebel groups and what sort of governmental system might replace the dictator’s rule after 41 years.
In one of three interviews yesterday, Mr Obama said the rebels were “saying the right things” so far. “Most of them are professionals, lawyers, doctors, people who appear to be credible,” he told CBS.
“That doesn’t mean that among all the people who oppose Gaddafi, there might not be elements that are unfriendly to the United States and our interests.”
He told the American ABC News he believed the dictator’s inner circle “understands that the noose is tightening” and that Gaddafi would step down.

If Barry arms these people, who are enemies of the U.S., Impeachment should start immediately. Not that he doesn’t have enough treason charges against him now to Impeach, but this should be the last straw for the American people. We cannot wait for two more years of this nightmare to continue. So much change (DAMAGE) has been done to this country as it is. This administration knows they are subverting the Constitution and the Rule of Law, it is now time to call him on it!
Would you not think that Congress would not permit arming them? Is there anything we can do to prevent this or does it not matter any more?

You’d think that if the rebels had any education at all, they would know you can’t bring down a jet with a rifle. Yet, we keep seeing them firing up in the air at essentially nothing.
While Obama believes the Rebels consist of Hamas, Hezbollah, The Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda Doctors, he plays the American public for fools.
I know doctors and they do not join hordes of marauding thugs shooting RPG’s.
Arming any of these people is another weapon that will be turned on Israel, and perhaps that is exactly what Obama wants.
Obama straps his own people with trillions in new debt and yet finds billions of dollars to play both sides of the Libyan conflict. His Home Boys Farrakhan and Rev Wright are warning him to back off but power to this community organizer has gone to his head.
I suspect China will pull his leash back sooner or later and cut off his funds and in turn put the American people in peril. But that seems to be part of this nitwit’s plan all along.
Obama must go. It is our policy to replace him. he can resign now, or wait for the pain to bear down upon him and his ilk in 2012.

Exactly. Libya is the test case for establishing precedent with UN/NATO/OIC involvement.

How is he playing both sides? There is a popular uprising and the United States has decided to join the international community in support their attempt to remove a tyrannical and murderous dictator. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
