Report: CIA Clandestine Operatives Inserted Into Libya to Aid Airstrikes, Meet With Rebels…
Not exactly Earth-shattering news, special forces were probably already there to begin with.
(NYT) — The Central Intelligence Agency has inserted clandestine operatives into Libya to gather intelligence for military airstrikes and to contact and vet the beleaguered rebels battling Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi’s forces, according to American officials.
While President Obama has insisted that no American military ground troops participate in the Libyan campaign, small groups of C.I.A. operatives have been working in Libya for several weeks as part of a shadow force of Westerners that the Obama administration hopes can help bleed Colonel Qaddafi’s military, the officials said.
In addition to the C.I.A. presence, composed of an unknown number of Americans who had worked at the spy agency’s station in Tripoli and others who arrived more recently, current and former British officials said that dozens of British special forces and MI6 intelligence officers are working inside Libya. The British operatives have been directing airstrikes from British jets and gathering intelligence about the whereabouts of Libyan government tank columns, artillery pieces and missile installations, the officials said.
In addition, the American spies are meeting with rebels to try to fill in gaps in understanding who their leaders are and the allegiances of the groups opposed to Colonel Qaddafi, said United States government officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the classified nature of the activities. American officials cautioned, though, that the Western operatives were not directing the actions of rebel forces.

Then we’re told “Um, yeah… looks like the war is going to be a lot longer than we thought…”
2) Obama then goes on vacation.
3) Obama then hands Soros-dominated Petrobas an oil rig permit. Something we’re not allowed to have.
4) Petrobas can now drill in the Gulf of Mexico. Something we’re not allowed to do.
5) Petrobas then will sell the oil to the US. Because we can’t drill our own.
6) Obama admits the trip to Brazil is to help the economy of Brazil – while completely ignoring our ruined economy.
7) During all this, Obama almost completely ignores the earthquake/nuclear meltdown in Japan, the effects of which have now reached our shores.
9) Now, after being told no troops would be sent, we learn we have Special Ops and CIA on the ground.
I dare – DARE any Liberal to defend this.
Like I’ve said before DG; wars should never be prosecuted under a Democrat administration – too many restrictive rules and no clear objectives, resulting in too many American deaths. Example – Viet Nam.
Oh, and one last thing. Let’s be sure to give them some Stinger missiles so they can take on those pesky Q-daffy fighters and then later they can be used on US commercial aircraft.
You all realize that Cameron in England is on record stating that we are in Libya to rebuild hospitals, highways, and MOSQUES when this is over. Hillary sat watching Cameron state this yesterday, nodding her head in approval.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think Obama dropped the word ‘mosque’ last night in his speech.
If the left can attack with military force any nation who “disagrees with American values”, as the left defines the American values, then who is excluded from their hit-list?
Isn’t that the reason that Obama gave for bombing Libya?

Like most readers here, I knew this would happen, and I am also sick to my stomach over this anyway. We should have stayed away from Libya from the very start. There is just no win in this issue for us at all.
Between obama and the dem left spending us into oblivion and bernanke increasing the US monetary base from something like $850 bn to just over $2 TRILLION since obarmy has been in office, we are headed for our own disaster.
I pray we survive obama and the left. I hope we can destroy the ideologies of socialism/progressivism and islam in this country.

Better the CIA than the 3rd ID. These are big boys who know how to wreak havoc while eluding capture. And we are always covered by “we disavow any knowledge of these individuals or there actions.” I am comforted by the fact that with these men at work in Libya the length of engagement will be shortened. And besides even if these guys aren’t there it will give Gadhaffi pause. Perhaps he will pull back some units to protect his self-righteous ass.
How long would it take our military to take out Mo Q. 1 week – 10days at most. Hillary needs to send in the troops and kill this terrorist. They should have taken him out after Lockerbie. Since we are already there. Just finish this fucker and move on.
