American Female Soldiers Being “Encouraged” to Don the Hijab During Operations in Afghanistan…

(Daily Caller) — In an effort to get closer to the local population, American female soldiers stationed in Afghanistan are being encouraged to wear a Muslim headscarf when interacting with civilians. But some question whether the practice constitutes cultural sensitivity or a form of appeasement that is degrading to U.S. soldiers.
Major Kyndra Rotunda, executive director of the Military Law and Policy Institute and AMVETS Legal Clinic, told The Daily Caller that while the women are not being ordered to wear the head scarf, encouragement is tantamount to a demand.
“They say they are encouraging women to wear the headscarf when they are out and about and on patrol. But the problem is — and I think anyone who has been in the military understands that being encouraged to do something is about the same thing as being ordered — it really puts them in an uncomfortable position when their commander says, ‘We really want you to do this, technically you don’t have to, but we really want you to do this,’” she said.

In a sane world they would be disciplined for not wearing their issued helmets because it puts them at risk of unnecessary harm.

This is no “choice” for women soldiers, this is a requirement and just like ROEs put our women (and the men they work with) in danger for the purpose of being PC. Whoever suggested this stupid, stupid idea should have to wear a headscarf while driving, walking, riding a bike – any ordinary activity and see how restrictive and cumbersome it is. I tried it. Frankly I don’t know how women in the hijab drive. It blocked my peripheral vision.
This is dhimmitude. This is conformation to Sharia Law. This is systematic desensitization concerning accepting Islam. What a monstrosity!
Before deploying the ARMY brought in a female Muslim to speak to my daughter’s unit and tell them how wonderful Islam is……..
It took just a few days of seeing little boys lining up outside the Iraqi Officer’s quarters each afternoon to dispel that myth.
My daughter made a point to stay inside when the muslims working in her FOB would not show up for work. Attacks always came. She never went without a helmet.

Seeing soldiers willingly don gear that degrades their personal protection and mission capability makes me sick to my stomach. I can see a taliban sniper going for a head shot with glee when he sees an American soldier in a head scarf.

I’ve asked this question before, are we deliberately trying to lose? Has the military brass gone full-stupid?
You can’t win a war by engaging in “cultural sensitivity.” In fact, you have to crush and remake the culture entirely. If we’re not going to fight to win, it’s time to bug out. No needless risking of our solders’ lives.
They need to be wearing protective headgear like their male counterpart. They are not civilian muslim women, they are soldiers of the U.S.
On this note, I will discourage any young person I meet from enlisting and any currently serving not to re-up. Our military has been destroyed by our current
leaders, and our leaders, are not worth dying for. Bring our troops home now!
