Convenient: Computer hard drives with Huckabee’s gubernatorial records erased & physically destroyed

A big tell that he’s running.

(Political Wire) — Mother Jones: “There’s a Mike Huckabee mystery that won’t go away. Send a public records request seeking documents from his 12-year stint as Arkansas governor, as Mother Jones did recently, and an eyebrow-raising reply will come back: The records are unavailable, and the computer hard drives that once contained them were erased and physically destroyed by the Huckabee administration as the governor prepared to leave office and launch a presidential bid.”

Has Mother Jones sent similar requests to the current White House, State of Hawaii, Harvard, etc….

    Nevermind.

As for Huckabee…… John McCain light.

John McCain was Bob dole on Crack.

The MSM will play up Huckabee and anyone else with baggage and endorse them as their favorite moderate conservative candidates just so they can tear them down late in the game like they did Jorge McCain.

I like Mike, I think he’s a generally nice guy and a great family man, but his record pardoning truly heinous people as governor is gonna come back to bite him squarely in the ass if he becomes the GOP nominee.

John Difool…right on point. This RINO will be the darling of the asshats in the MSM because they know he CAN’T win the general election. We cannot nominate him or any others like him if we are to have any shot at reclaiming the WH.

    Herman Cain, anyone?

If this is the GOP candidate for the 2012 election I’ll never vote again – I’ve had enough. Even Juan McCain was better than this hypocritical snake. Huckleberry is the GOP equivalence to Joe Biden.

There would be no need to erase anything if the devices (memory) were destroyed–but I state the obvious.

Having gotten that out of the way, I would think such a thing should be normal operating procedure for any administration.

:-) All the GOP candidates should do this.

After the MSM spends a week bringing up the fact that no one seems to have a background, they should all come forward with all the missing information.

    Then say: “Your turn, Obama”.

Mike Huckabee pardoned many violent criminals–including cop killers and rapists– who have raped (kids) and killed again once let back out on the street. According to the AP, Huckabee pardoned or had sentences reduced of 1,033 people in his 10 1/2 years as governor. I won’t vote for this FOOL.

  13. gastorgrab says:

Seriously, everyone with nothing at all to hide should very conspicuously cut off all access to their past.

When the MSM creates a public outcry, the House GOP can draft a bill that requires ALL presidential candidates to reveal their past.

:-) Imagine the look on Harry Reid’s face when it’s dropped on his desk.

Mikes biggest problem is as a Christian he can see the inherent good in everyone no matter how low they are and believes in ultimate forgiveness.

That’s fine, but as a politician public safety should never take the back burner to your religious beliefs while you were put in charge of running a state. Let em’ do their time in prison and go to bible study there.

He’s always had way too much of a populist streak in him for me instead of adhering to conservative principles.

Haven’t done any research on him since ’07/’08 so I forget:

Didn’t he sign off on just about every social welfare program passed across his desk while in Arkansas and leave the state highly in debt?

If I recall, Mike’s one of those populist GOPers who believes charity should come from the tax coffers, not the church.

“The records are unavailable, and the computer hard drives that once contained them were erased and physically destroyed by the Huckabee administration as the governor prepared to leave office and launch a presidential bid.”

Sorry, I don’t believe this would be a response by any agency to a request for official records. It sounds political, not the normal bureaucratic.

This is a reply fabricated by Mother Jones or an arrogant lout at the helm of the public communications office.

  21. Duckhead says:
    April 5, 2011 at 9:24 am

Who’s to say Huckabee made this happen? We have a crime boss in the White House who only knows how to cheat. He has always won by discrediting his opponents.
The leftist opposition crew is eagerly waiting on the next Republican to step up so they can get busy slamming him/her in the media.
If you don’t like the candidate, and you chose to stay home on election day, you simply give Obama an extra vote. I pray to God we don’t act that stupidly again. Whoever gets the nomination will need all the votes they can get to counter the phony A.C.O.R.N. votes for Obama.
One thing is certain, we WILL NOT survive a 2nd term of Nobama.

Time to haul huckabee and his staff up on a number of charges. Those hard drives were government property. He did not have the authority to destroy them. I am sure Arkansas has laws to protect information and records. R or D, I don’t care. Neither one has the right to destroy records that belong to the PUBLIC!!!

@Tom Moeller: Agreed, something’s amiss here. How would they know the disc was erased if it was destroyed? Moreover, FIOA requests usually go past counsel, to insure everything’s in order. There’s no way counsel approved this response unless it is demonstrably true, which strikes me as doubtful.

BHO ordered the CIA. FBI. NSA. DOJ. TO gather ALL data on potential “opposition”
BHO did this some time in the past.
Remember, this fits BHO’s “normal operating” procedure.

I like Huckabee. I believe that he stands on a high moral structure. I would trust what he said. However, like many of the people out there now for GOP, he wouldn’t have a chance. I am not sure that he wouldn’t be used as a punching bag by the media, but not as much as Palin and Bachmann. There will be not much left of them if they run.

We have to put someone who can take the media punches and still stay alive to win. Right now, my choice is Pawlenty.

  32. Texmom says:

It didn’t say this just happened, but that those records were destroyed years ago when he left office, so it shouldn’t indicate anything about his current plans.
Is it unusual for governors to do this, or is it fairly common when they leave office? That would be interesting to know and tell you more about this story.

Some of these t(f)ools had best start preserving their files if they ever intend to run for office again. I am woman, hear me roar, “no files, no vote.” I don’t like him, don’t watch his moronic show, thought his Meanshelle envy/wannabe health mandate for everyone to lose weight was authoritarian. Like AlGore his education was centered on divinity school….. we need someone that knows how to make money and create wealth. I’m looking at Trump, if he’s just not stirring the pot. Mrs. Trump would look a whole lot better in the WH than anyone else I can think of.

There should be a 100 year ban on any more presidents from Arkansas. We’ve lived through one, not sure we’d make it through two.

  38. Random in Texas says:

What, no backups? Guess the state of Arkansas doesn’t consider a governor’s computer files to be official records. You know, if I were to do that, I would go to jail. Guess it’s good to be the governor!

Huckabee is the king of hypocrites. Running for president in 2007, Huckabee put forth a bold open-government proposal. “There’s an old rule that says that when the sun shines, the germs disappear.” Thank God Huckabum will disappear. Those that whine, ” Why didn’t the MSM look into……….” are confirming that their 1st response is the same as a 5 year old who can’t defend the indefensible.

  44. Jesse says:

There is a good reason Huckabum destroyed government property. Huckabum was watching weird man-on-dead-squirrel porn on his computer as he was also illegally taking lobbyist money directly from God.

Mother Jones is a far leftist magazine trying to smear Huckabee. I can’t believe anybody would by this drivel. For the truth read:

“Arkansas law allows governors to take their papers with them when they leave. Huckabee donated his to Ouachita, but the college has yet to process them.”
